I don't see it as doing something for a man, but more about switching the gender roles. Back then you didn't hear stuff about Sugar mamas. It was all about sugar daddies. The man was the one who put food on the table and paid taxes. Cause women weren't trusted with money. Women weren't even allowed to have their own credit cards till the 70s. This song is more about a woman wearing the pants in a relationship as opposed to the man.
