      I’m still drinking this batch. It really only gets better with age. The pineapple flavor really pops after a few months bottled.

      I’m not much of a seltzer drinker. I bet there’s somebody out there with a killer seltzer video though.

    Doesn’t rival the full pineapple force of tepache, but sounds nice.

    Can it be carbonated in a 1gal. Container like a 1gal. jug such as a milk jug and if so what would I use and how long will it keep.

    • @SustainableDan
      @SustainableDan  Рік тому +1

      Take this how you like, but I’m not an expert and brew at your own risk. I have carbonated in the jugs. It works just fine and should definitely keep for at least a couple of years. Do not use a plastic jug unless you want it to explode. Glass bottle, metal cap.

    Hey Dan
    I made a 1 gal. batch of pineapple cider and used an ale yeast not champagne yeast and i thought it taste kind of sour did i do some thing wrong? Hope u can help, i am just a beginner.
    Thank You

      It does come out kind of sour. Pineapple brings a lot of acidity to the mix. I’m currently leaving my carbonated bottles in a cool dark place to age. This generally helps mellow out the flavor and bring out the fruitiness.

    • @SustainableDan
      @SustainableDan  Рік тому

      Sour is okay, vinegar flavor is bad.

    Hey Daniel, I have some pineapple cider going now it has been about 2 weeks I started it on 4-6 I just checked it and there is all kinds of foam in the air lock. I followed ur recipe did I do something wrong just wondering if it will turn out

    • @SustainableDan
      @SustainableDan  Рік тому +1

      That happens to me all of the time. Without getting anything dirty, rinse out your airlock and fill it up and put it back on. Airlocks overflow when you have an aggressive fermentation. That’s completely normal.

    • @SustainableDan
      @SustainableDan  Рік тому

      Things that would be concerning are a sulfur smell or a vinegar taste.

      Ok Daniel, I got home from track meet took off air lock rinsed it off refill it and put it back it didn't have no different smell still smelled like pineapple so hope I didn't rune it . I will give it another week

    • @SustainableDan
      @SustainableDan  Рік тому

      @@tomdoyen6051 it should be fine. Like I said, it’s a pretty normal thing to happen.

    Do u have to put ginger juice in it and can I get it in Walmart because that's where we do our shopping and what department do we get it in. Would u suggest a ale yeast and what kind of flavor would I get.

    • @SustainableDan
      @SustainableDan  Рік тому +1

      You don’t need the ginger juice and pineapple juice is at Walmart. I think Safale S-04 ale yeast would work fine, but wine yeast would also do the trick.
