I think he had some special place in his heart for extremely weak and broken people....he helped that daki and her brother when they were about to die...he kinda never hurted inouske mom till she started to run away due to her terrible past....he even actually protected her from the people trying to get her.

Demon Slayers believe that once a Human became a Demon, they become a being who are incapable producing emotions which we found is not true since Demons can still feel love, hate, fear like and even show gratitude like humans do BUT Doma lacks any understanding of emotions and hides his cold and psychopatic tendencies behind a smile. Kotoha Hashibira, Inosuke's mom. Favored by Dauma since she was young and pretty and sang well. Killed when she found his secret and said he wouldn't have killed her if she didn't run away. Honestly in my opinion, Dauma only thought he wouldn't have killed her since she was of use for him at the time. He has no feelings so he had no regrets, love, or attachments. Probably he would have killed her in few years time when she became old or found a better singer. Kotoha really saved Inosuke by running away.

Honestly in my opinion, Dauma only thought he wouldn't have killed her since she was of use for him at the time. He has no feelings so he had no regrets, love, or attachments. She stayed there for awhile until she saw douma eat one of his followers in his cult, she was horrified and decided to run away w/ inosuke, douma saw that she saw he ate one of his followers and chased her thinking that she will tell his cult that he is a cannibal or sum- Douma caught up w/ kotaha and she was crying saying “ damn I’m rlly sorry for being a bad mother and stuff but I got to throw you off this cliff so you can live,kinda praying that u won’t hit your head bc this cliff is like 30-70ft tall so uh goodbye my baby boy also I’m stupid for throwing but I’m on the edge of death and this cliff” when inosuke fell douma stabbed her or devoured her (idk rlly) and then she died ( bro ofc she would die man- douma thought that the baby(aka inosuke)
