You are mistaken with the confusing ending that Li Chuan died but obviously didn't (there is S2 with HE). It's OE at the end of ep.38. But the the original / actual storybook ends in ep.38 23mins (marriage & novel signing)+🎈 i.e. HE. Actually, Li Chuan didn't alter Xiao Qiu's novel & sequence from 23mins.are not in original storybook but edited for S2.
But it's really sad he was not able to make it for S2. It would really be nice to have watched part2 with both of them in the lead stars. Just praying he's really happy now with his creator. RIP godfrey😢

Watching this drama for this drama for the umpteenth time, en am realizing Annie and Lichuan' actually started arguing from the very beginning! Both were unbending! I guess only true love could make one give in for the sake of the other! Having said this, it's really nice though tragic endings aren't my thing. Also sad that Gao left us so soon, RIP GAO

There a lot of cars around them why didn't send them early to the hospital. Oh my God, pity on him, hopefully no one suffering.??? Condolence to the family, Rest in Peace God bless
I've read an article also that he collapsed at past 11pm Nov. 26 and staff,etc of the show doing cpr,etc at the scene and brought to the hospital at 3-4am the early next morming of Nov 27 and pronounced dead at 5am..😢😢😢...really something wrong!

This episode is messed up around 27:57 seconds. The English Subtitles are way ahead of the scene. In fact the other sites that I found to watch Episode 4 are all the same. Did you just copy it as is? You must have. I’m so disappointed that you didn’t verify your work before posting it. I really have enough of girls drinking and getting drunk. They shouldn’t glamourise drinking alcohol, it’s in every single Chinese, Korean film or drama it’s absolutely disgusting. Do you not realise the effect it will have on the younger generation? Shame on you the Chinese film industry.
At least this drama does not show flesh, sex & not even casual kissing/'making-out'.
@@natgeo6984 I can’t remember now but great if it doesn’t. However in real life drunkenness put women in vulnerable position, prone to being used and exploited. It’s more likely that they are not in the hands of a knight in shining armour or a kind person who would help them.

The shows are subjected to censorship & ratings. Also don't know how China's legal process are in cases of sex/intimacy with drunken victims as in some countries, this constitute rape/molest with onus on accused to prove sex/intimacy did not occur.
Get a grip will you. Drinking alcohol happens everywhere even in homes. Chidren see their parents drink. Youngsters drink every time. Film industries are just an add on. We cannot control the alcohol influence from any source. Can't blame film industries.

Besides, the East are supposed to be more traditional and yet they’re just as bad as the West if not worse especially in films. And yes I can blame the East Asian film industry for its warped portrayal of drunkenness. In reality a drunken woman is most vulnerable at being taken advantage especially by men. A woman is vulnerable anyway compared to a man without being drunk and yet the film industry portrays drunkenness as if it’s fun and can lead to romance. Shameful.
