Fun fact: Most of the castle scene are original for the anime. Wit Studio ( the studio behind Attack on Titan season 1-3 ) turned 4 panels ( just for the castle ) from the manga into a 10 minute of beautiful action sequence.
I LOVED that they did that, I was kinda dissapointed with how short it was in the manga :( so far I've liked all the fillers or extra scenes, just wish they animated the mini story of Yor getting shot :3
I mean... there's making sure she has a great day to celebrate, and then there's coercing his friend to spend probably a million or two's worth of tax dime on frivolous extravagancies. It's a miracle Loid didn't lose his job over this... is what I *would* say but more likely they couldn't sack him if they wanted to since he was already embedded into the role of Anya's father and replacing him would draw all kinds of wrong attention. What *did* end up happening though is WISE overworking Twilight to the point he could barely stand up right. Admittedly there's no hard evidence that there's a correlation but I like to think this is why it happened, they were recouping the expenses of this stunt.
This episode is pretty much Anime original. This whole Anya's reward mission was just a few pages in the manga apparently. Wit Studios never disappoints! They're famous for doing another small anime named Attack On Titan. Maybe you two have heard about it?🤣
Can't help but notice that Carlie got Yor's haircut and Ange got similar shirt with Loid. All they need to do now is get themselves a pink-haired telepathic 4 year old girl xD
Anya's voice actor sometimes read lines like a robot on purpose to make Anya's acting look like poor. "Help me, Loidman", "Anya miss mother", "Mother don't exist" etc. so funny. Her voice acting is very good👍
Something that I found really interesting in this episode that I didn't catch the first time, is the name of the character in Yor's imagination sequence (4:21) Zachry Feiss is a play on word with "Sacrifice". In the original audio it's イケニエール(ikenieeru) that has the word 生贄(ikenie) at the beginning of it, which mean "(living) sacrifice"

That's true. I also believe Yor will defeat Loid. But I also believe that Loid is not going down so easily. He's fast, agile, a quick thinker, and can take a hit.
Well after reading the manga i can say in a straight up 1v1 yor probably has 65-70% win rate while loid has probably 35-30% since obviously yor has amazing physical abilities her physical stats are off the chart and what some people don't understand is that yor usually holds back her strength to some extend but since she was drunk her movements might not be just as sharp but she was probably hitting the hardest while being drunk since she wasn't holding back and we gotta understand how strong loid is as we know yor can break her brothers bones with just a mere hug and loid here took all that straight on and the fact that physical skills are not even loids greatest weapon is crazy with prep time i can say loid probably easily has 70% win rate if not more and yea in the end they both better not fight lmao since i love this ship
Aside from acting as an uncle figure to Anya in this chapter (aka helping her get Loid to agree to the whole "save Anya from the castle" idea 😆)... Franky is also doing it because he's a little jealous of Loid, even though they're friends/coworkers! That's why he seemed so invested in playing the Count Scruffy villain who's trying to foil "Loidman"! 🤣

Honestly the guy in the chair at the end, was the one who praised Twilight way too much and she just gave the best Agent all he needed... for the mission.
I always thought of the possibility of Loid fighting Yor compares to Batman fighting Superman. If he has enough preparation and a solid strategy, Batman/Loid could take the win. But being just thrown into a fight, all he can do is defend until Superman/Yor ultimately whoops his ass. Now, Loid held his own but if it went on much longer… Also, Henderson isn’t stupid, he likes them and was looking for a reason to get them on the waiting list.
Oh Yor can absolutely help in the kitchen. She might not be able to cook anything edible, but nobody can beat her when it comes to cutting ingredients. :P Animation flex incoming! This wholesome slice-of-life-ish series puts most dedicated action anime to shame in the animation department. I'm impressed that Yor was able to stay conscious for so long, considering she was already hammered from the very first glass of wine and then just kept drinking. ^^

This episode was so fun and exciting I kinda wish they saved it for the mid season finale. You're right about that song, such a great track, makes me wish we had more great action sequences.
I don't know if you've noticed yet, but there's something interesting about the worldbuilding for this anime. I haven't read the manga, so I just assume that it's the same, when I'm saying that the writer/artist got inspired heavily from the Cold War and the East-West conflict with the seperated Berlin at its centre. The capital city of Ostania, where this anime takes place, is called Berlint, after all. Westalis is obviously the west, where Twilight is from, and Ostania is the East, 'Osten' meaning East in German. The writing and the names in this anime are English, but the inspiration for the city and the styles, architecture, even decoration is very German. That people just get snatched up if they're suspicious is something that happened a lot in East Germany. Many landscapes that we see in this anime are also inspired by Germany's landscapes. The castle in this episode also makes you think of Schloss Neuschwanstein in Bavaria, as it is situated right next to a lake, too, and even was the inspiration for Disney's Castle. Even the landscape in the film Code White is inspired by Southern Germany. Some names from the show are even Russian, like Anya, for example. I haven't noticed anything else yet that reminds me of anything that has to do with the Cold War, but I just think that this inspiration for worldbuilding is so interesting! The Cold War has not been that long ago yet, and most worldbuilding takes inspiration from the long ago past.
It only gets better, I think Yor might be the most adorable yet deadly waifu ever. I can't wait to see how it all turns out, I have to stop myself reading the manga in order to get the best out of the anime

Please you guys have to react to Hunter x Hunter and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure! While it's totally fine to watch the new recent titles because they have beautiful animations, but there's a reason these 2 are iconic and fans keep coming back rewatching these. Hunter x Hunter while it has a lot of episodes has better phasing and provides good content each episode. Jojo also heavily inspires Dragon Ball and I know Ange loves Dragon Ball you guys will definitely love these 2 series

Hi, first of all i'd like to say love the reaction and energy from the both of you. There is an anime i would love to see your reaction. Have heard of an anime called 86? its a anime with the main theme of war and racism i think. Although its in a semi mecha genre, but its not focus on big mecha fight like the gundam series. Its more focus on its story, insane character development and world building. There is a lot of foreshadowing and symbolism in this anime, not to mention the fantastic music. There are small fight here and there but it was short and straight to the point type and when there's a big fight, its a big epic fight. Its a roller coaster of emotion. Happy to see you react to it.

It shows the cruelty of war along with how it affect the mentality of a soldier that carry a huge burden on the frontline. This show have a lot of subtle symbolism and foreshadowing that you might miss on the first watch. I've rewatch it alot of time along with reactor and i still find something i miss most of the time. The pacing and they way they show stuff might be confusing at first, but its a brilliant way the studio (A1 picture) did to pull viewers into the emotion and story of this anime.
