It was kinda horrifying how many people thought Penny was out of line calling Howard out for his behaviour.
And getting little to no credit for never knocking Bernadette TF out or truly going off on Sheldon. I know Sheldon did have issues, but a decade of insults would get old. Meanwhile, Bernie was just a jerk who used being short as a free pass to spew nastiness.
Especially when Leonard made her apologize for it. It was very upsetting for me
Penny was right in calling Howard out but could have possibly done it in a less hostile manner, even though he needed a reality check.

Penny needed the guys. But the guys needed Penny even more. They teached eachother during the shows run. Later with Amy and Bernadette the balance was complete. Great show!
No. Maybe at first, but what killed it, was the last four seasons.
*taught not teached. Not a dig, just a correction as the rest of the sentence was quite cogent. I have to disagree though, te show is very problematic in its take on geek culture for like 5 seasons til it finally eased off the stereotypes a bit and allowed the characters to grow. It became a great show, but it didn't start out that way.
@@TheMsLourdes Yeah…no. The show was funnier in its first seven and SOME of season eight. The show became GARBAGE in seasons nine-twelve. Penny was my fav character and she was RUINED. Leonard too. I liked him, then the writer decided to make him pathetic. They’re on their way to becoming Leonard’s parents (it all makes sense. I hate it, but it makes sense. Why do you think Penny was trying to get along with Beverly? Because she wants to BECOME HER. “so how can I make Leonard suffer the same way your husband did?”. If Penny actually cared, then, like Leonard said “We don’t like her”, they wouldn’t have made any effort with her AT ALL). Leonard was also given a terrible resolution in the end regarding all his personal problems. He of all the guys deserved to be a father the most to show his mother how WRONG she was to do to him what she did (his childhood and labeling him a public “disappointment”, by book publishing), and is CURRENTLY doing ti him. He should have told his mother to leave, and NEVER come back. Then to save what LITTLE dignity his marriage has, have Penny come back out and have HER GIVE HIM A FUCKING HUG, signifying that she’s the only woman to TRULY love him.
Instead he got a wife that doesn’t love him, disrespects him, and lacks evidence that says so otherwise (she became the promiscuous slut from season two when she ignored what Leonard said, pretended to be into something she’s not into (science and D&D), and WORST OF ALL with a married man…again! Remember, the season two Christmas episode with that David Underhill? She did the exact same thing only with a married celebrity, and worse, she dragged Bernadette and Amy down to her level. Stupid writers.
Can I recommend something to you, where there’s less toxic relationships? The relationships were super toxic and negative in the last four seasons, and I hated that. Penny and Leonard were my fav characters, and the writers ruined it:

Wow are you kidding. Penny is or will never be the most important person on the show. She was just there. The most important person on the show was Sheldon. The show would not have made It if it was not for Sheldon. And since Jim quit they stopped making more seasons. My point has been made

Gotta give credit to the writers. They really knew what they were doing for the show. Penny was executed extremely well both by actress and writing.
Kaley is not a good actress. She’s a terrible person behind the curtains. I hate what Penny became her actress: a terrible woman/girlfriend/wife. Can I recommend something to you where Penny doesn’t become the unlikable shrew in the last four seasons?

One of my favorite things about Penny is how smart she actually was... just in a completely different way than all the others. She was so strong that she held her own in the midst of that "smartness".

She had a high level of social / interpersonal intelligence that allowed her to have good people skills which barely developed in the guys' lives until she comes along

@@heatherstephenson3559 Can I recommend something where she does put up with Sheldon, but once Amy dates Sheldon, Penny is smart and tries to get Sheldon to rely on her instead of Leonard because Penny wants Leonard for herself? She also swears to get revenge on Howard for the teddy bear (they actually show the scene where Penny finds it), and she also threatens him with calling Bernadette to tell her what inappropriate remark he just made. She also gets revenge on Raj for the Spa incident. And finally Penny’s actually gets revenge on Sheldon for the chocolate training (Leonard tells her), and she gets the best revenge EVER. Care to guess how?
She's also a saint for never knocking Bernadette on her rude little ass.
Penny defending Sheldon over Glen the Ostrich and his collectible to the big bully showed the big sister/little brother dynamic they had. I loved how their relationship grew over the seasons.

I also really loved when Sheldon was doing his driving lesson on the computer and the gang were all around him, he pretended to put on his seat belt and wanted to know if he got into
an accident how would he know if the airbag got deployed and Penny said don't worry you will know. then he crashed the car and a few moments went by and she picked up a pillow and hit him in the face with it. That was one of her best. IMPO
The story would never have worked if Penny wasn't so "savage". She rocked!!!!!

The thing I love most about Penny is how sweet and affectionate she is with the boys almost from the start. With that in mind, it's hard to take in the fact that she was what coming-of age movies and tv-shows classifies as a "Mean girl" in highschool.
People grow and change, whether for the better or worst. Some people do not seem to change at all, though.
I think the BEST part she screwed with Sheldon was when they were fighting and he complained to her boss that she wouldn't serve him in the restaurant she worked. She then gave him his burger and said: "Go ahead, Sheldon, eat it. I DARE you!"
That's right, didn't matter if she did anything to it or not, the seed of doubt was already planted

I love Penny and I especially love her relationship with Sheldon. 99.9% of pretty women would absolutely dismiss him but she never did. She challenged him, she befriended him, she consoled & comforted him. She truly loved him for just who he was. Actually, she did to all of them. I wish there were more "Penny's" in this world.

Regardless, of what Leonard said in the episode about Amy’s parents, they are in their way to becoming his and even AMY’S parents. The stupid joke about how he FUCKING FLINCHES from Penny made me want to PUNCH the writers. WTF 🤬. That joke was SHIT in screen. The writers clearly forgot how comfortable and gentle they were when they hugged or cuddled after a discussion or dialogue that had meaning between them. Like the episode about Alex asking Leonard out, or the Bath item Christmas episode? The writers OBVIOUSLY have amnesia.

It like 95% from Penny’s POV, and both her and Leonard have WAY better development. She’s more genuinely in love with him. And believe it or not, he does something AWESOME, that make her love him even more. A recurring gag is that when Howard or Sheldon screw up as either a boyfriend/husband, she turns to Leonard and says “Okay, what went wrong?” It’s actually really funny. 😂
Sheldon I think has Asperger's syndrome but they never got it diagnosed. It's good they didn't diagnosed it and we just imbraced him as who he was

Agree on Penny and her importance to TBBT. My favorite scene was her thoughtfulness when Leonard Nemoy was at the CheeseCake Factory and she got him to sign his napkin for Sheldon. We got to see Sheldon's first hug.

It's not just one meal - Penny costs Leonard a fortune before she becomes a pharmaceutical rep. He pays for everything on dates, as well as many meals they have delivered, as well as borrowing money from him for various things, including her rent. She tells him she doesn't carry money, to which he asks how she manages that, to which she says "I'm cute - I get by", which means that men who are attracted to her pay for everything for her.

Funny thing about when Penny refused to serve Sheldon she is not wrong any retail even if it's retail or food services, etc has the right to refuse service to anybody for any reason it extremely rare that it will be the the worst reason but most of the time it's for the right reasons

That’s a huge unpopular opinion. Clearly the whole world disagrees with you since the big bang theory has been the #1 comedy show in America since it came out.

The only reason TBBT went on after seasons eight was due to ratings (that’s one of the worst reasons to drag out a show; it slowly kills the thing that made it popular. The last four seasons were absolute GARBAGE. Penny and Leonard were my favorite characters, and they were RUINED). Just because lots of people watch a show, doesn’t mean that they should ignore the story itself. Instead they said, “How can we drag this out?”. Amateurs. Watch FRIENDS instead.

My favorite Penny quip was in the Bozeman episode. The guys had been robbed and she's talking to Leonard. "I'm not scared. I would've gone all Nebraska on their asses.", while slapping her hand with a baseball bat.
I understood why people hated Penny to a degree, she was very hypocritical when it came to her even using the guys to her own benefits but gets mad at the other lady for doing the same for years (especially when she says she could’ve dated Raj just to use him to pay off her debts), “torturing” Leonard from time to time with his feelings, even in marriage she says she married for “love” but says it in a way of regretful, and almost hooks up with half of the guys in the group (Leonard, Raj, Stewart)

For all her savage comments - every episode the guys did what they could to make her feel or look stupid, or just assumed it. So I was tit for tat development of all the them learning to respect each other and get along. (Even the girls sometimes would thinks penny isn’t smart and BAM penny would get a good zinger in)
I love this show because the writers got it so right - I could never figure out which of these characters I identified the most with, some parts of all of them are true to me, and I'm sure to all of us.
I played D&D in jr high in a coed group- had a blast. Occasionally meet at a friends house on farm and run amuck with wood swords n shields!
In high-school i moved. I found the one d&d group and was thrilled! But they refused to allow me to play. Because i was a girl. They insisted it was just not possible i could know how to play. Was in my 30s before i found another group.
INCORRECT! The most BRUTAL Penny and Raj scene is when Raj whispers in Howard's ear that Penny can jog with Sheldon. When Penny asks how Raj knew she jogged...Raj whispered in Howard's ear again...only THIS time Howard (getting tired of Raj whispering in his ear) tells Penny a lie that Raj said he watches her, in his car, with high powered binoculars. Penny replies "That's CREEPY!!!" Howard replies, in a high voice "I KNOW!!!" Raj FREAKS OUT and whispers again to Howard...and Howard tells Penny another lie that Raj said he isn't going to STOP!!!
