Electric bass cuts through better. Acoustic bass is real hit or miss. Alice in chains unplugged is the only good example of acoustic bass i can think of. Now upright bass, they sound amazing, but only with certain genres like blues, rockabilly, psychobilly, jazz, country, and bluegrass
Hateful comments??? I love power pop punk like Blink and Sum 41 but in my opinion they should stick with what makes them good- and that includes distorted guitar and drums. The reason for having a comments section in UA-cam is so that people can say what they think. I think Sum 41 sound better as a full band with electric guitars and I would venture a guess that a majority of their fans feel the same way. As Kurt Cobain said, "Punk rock should mean freedom, playing whatever you want, As sloppy as you want as long as it's good and it has passion". This song sounds beautiful out of tone and I love it. Music isnt about hitting every note and trying to make it sound "perfect". Music is freedom, You can do what you want.

Actually, Deryck has seriously improved his voice. This is 8 years ago, you have to keep that in mind. Check out their live session of Underclass Hero. Much much better.

You wouldn't be able to hear it very well in the mix because it would just blend with the acoustic guitars.
