    Fint!

Aside of changing the switches to the Hazes, use a desk mat. I found it makes a *really* big difference to the sound of a mech keyboard. You can test with anything: tablecloth, towel, t-shirt, whatever. If you like the change, then you can find a suitable desk mat.

@@w2best Makes a big difference and hey, it's easy and free to try. Obviously the hard surface will reflect much more sound than a soft cloth or mat. Think about when you have a home without carpets and curtains, like an empty apartment before you move in. You can hear much more echo, but once you get the carpets, drapes, furniture etc. in there, it's much more quiet.
Obviously you have a nice clean minimalist desk so maybe you won't want folded up sauna towel on there, but maybe you can find either something soft that fits just under the keyboard, or some good looking large desk mat where your mouse would fit on, too. A large desk mat would actually probably also improve the quality of your recording sound as you speak - though, you also have the big screens which reflect sound a lot.
Btw I know at least a couple universities in Sweden, though not sure about Göteborg, have an "anechoic chamber," a place with no echo. I'd love to visit one here in Finland too.

I'm thinking of getting the 5108B plus on sale, would you recommend it for a first time mechanical keyboard user? What switches would you recommend?

Might grab a nordic version of this board just to get the finnish/swedish keycaps and sell off the actual board or give it as a gift :D these black/gray/yellow caps would look amazing on my silver gray keychron Q6

I'm thinking about getting one with the CS Jelly Pink switches, from what I can hear they're somewhat the smoothest/quietest of the bunch. Is that indeed the case, or are there quieter by Akko?

    • @w2best
      @w2best 11 місяців тому +2

Haze pink silent switch should be the quietest! I have them in to review very soon.

how are the CS Jelly Purple switches compared to Cherry MX Blue switches that are quite tactile and have alot of clicky sounds?
I got Cherry MX Red linear switches in my corsair keyboard but would rather have something more tactile like Blue MX switches witch I have in two of my Arcade sticks & I like it alot.
but what's a niec tactile feel for keyboards purpel Akko or Blue akko or just MX blue?
want clickyness feel & sound at max

Any USB-C cable can fit in there as long as they're small enough

@@w2best yeah, the purples sound a bit harsh and "tinny" to my ears because they are unlubed. Lubing switches can make great improvements in the sound and feel of the keyboard and would also make the pinks sound quieter. The downside is that lubing eats up hours of your life and almost definitely isn't worth it for non-enthusiasts. In this case you can just buy pre-lubed.
switches that just cost a few dollars more.
