- Unfortunately at the beginning of Season 6, Joan Collins failed to turn up on set to reprise her role of Alexis Dexter. Many say that she was playing hard after being dissatisfied with the remuneration offered to her for this season.
The show had to go on, Dynasty needed to go in to production right away. Therefore in place of scenes that would have starred Joan were a number of hastily rewritten scenes that substitute Alexis for other characters, including this filler scene with Linda Evans as Krystle.

Linda Evans always looked prettiest when they did her hair in twists or updos. I don't know why they stuck with that dreadful helmet style season after season.

why is the scene considered "filler"?
Carrie Heffernan because initially this scene was supposed to be played by Joan Collins. Joan was on strike over a salary issue and didn't appear in the first 2 episodes of season 6. Therefore Linda Evans had to play some of Alexis scenes with a couple of changes to accommodate Krystle. But the scenes didn't make sense and lacked in intensity because Krystle had no business power and wasn't in the position to make decisions. It looked awkward and messy. And Alexis situation remained artificially unknown for no reason until Joan Collins came back to work when the salary dispute was sorted out (and Linda Evans benefited from it as well thanks to a clause in her contract that said that no other actress could be paid more than her).

This is the real Krystle who was stuck in Moldavia, Rita also appeared in this episode though in the US with Sammy Joe and still in her original appearance
@@SwimmerPrince I stand corrected 😐 (I had mixed up with Rita meeting up with the Colby family members; the real Krystal would meet Sable only in the 9th season!)
