The flag is something they know to look at every single lap because it will give them an indication of how they need to treat the next series of turns. Looking at the signboard every lap isn't going to make them faster. They have all of the flag information on their steering wheel. Don't get me wrong, Lewis finally got a penalty that he deserved after not getting penalised twice for big things ( 1 - the "IN IN IN IN STAY OUT STAY OUT" incident where he crossed the white line on pit entry but then back over on to the track. & 2 - After damaging his wing in Germany last year, he came into the pits after the pit entry marker, which is not allowed). But to compare these two things isn't really a good comparison.

The fact that he has the focus to point out the flags in the distance while going over 200kph is completely nuts

This just shows how well prepared are all F1 drivers, even the ones that finish in last positions most of the times can just tell you all about the circuit even while driving, certainly amazing, thanks indeed Russell

i think this is better rather than the other Circuit Guides, because it feels natural, like we are on the track, and also with the live comentaries from the driver, it just like you're driving there

George is a credit to his generation and F1 as a whole... both of which are otherwise full of egos and ignorance, yet George seems to have an genuine appreciation for his talent and opportunities. He seems honest and humble, while also having the competitive edge that will hopefully lead to one or more championships in the future.

What a driver. I can't believe he actually notices and uses something so simple like a flag on the grandstand far out in the distance in his lap. Completely imulses himself in his surroundings and takes advantage of every little detail. Impressive.
