Ich Troje was the reason why I started writing poetry back then and poetry get me through a very hard time. I remember Michal story moving me so deep I started writing about him, something like book. Fun fact: this only NQ'd because this was the only year where a non participating country was allowed to vote (Serbia & Montenegro), and they gave 10 points to Macedonia. As a result, Macedonia qualified and Poland did not.

The place in the final was stolen from them when the EBU allowed Serbia & Montenegro to vote even though they were not competing. Naturally they gave 10 points to Macedonia and 0 to Poland. Without this vote from a country who were not even competing, Poland would have reached the final.

From 2004-2007 they only had one semi final and used to have a rule where the top 10 scoring countries would automatically go to the final the next year. Poland was so close to qualifying but had too much competition, if there were 2 semi finals back then they would've definitely qualified!

The performance and staging was totally revamped last minute: a very bad move, because it made it even worse. Her voice was bland, her song was nothing special and the staging was horrible. I prefered the Polish song over this because, even though it's chaotic, it has special melody and is sung in Polish (a plus imo) and English.
The song itself was absolutely great and a real catchy tune, even after years. So still today. The problem here, however, was the whole "theater" around it, the stage, the costumes, like a circus or Punch and Judy show. If you were dressed normally and just focused on the song itself, I'm sure Poland would have easily been further back then. The studio version is still awesome. If only that had been transported to the stage back then, everything would have been great. (Strangely, the song is not even available on Spotify)
Actually the staging and it being over the top was very fitting for the main singer michal wisniewski so I still think that we were robbed cause it is one of the best polish entries

The fact that the man is singing kneeling to his wife while the other two women (the two past vocalists in Ich Troje’s history, one of which is his ex wife) sing, shows how professional they all are.
