I have lived through Rock music from the 60s to the current time, never been a fan of hip hop or rap music, but Ren has a way of connecting with his clear and straight messages it's like a new Blues. At 68 I thought I had felt all that music had to offer to my generation. I was wrong and am hoping there is more to enjoy as I have music playing all day. Cheers to someone who can connect over generations.

"Older folks" are no different than younger folks. We've just been here longer. You will be one of us older folks one day too and hoping like hell someone like REN comes along to make you feel young again. REN makes me feel there is someone I can relate to because I think he has an old soul if there is such a thing. He is so far ahead of most people no matter what age. He certainly has brought this ol' gal (64 this month) a ton of hope and songs I relate to. He knows what it is like to go through severe illness, mental illness and yet keep on going. Dealt with the messed up medical system and so much more. It is his goodness and enormous heart that ALL ages are relating too. NOt to mention insane talent. This man is a hero. You are so right... no matter how... WE LOVE HIM.
I think it's because it reminds us of how music used to be. If you were into the punk scene or the folk scene or the hardcore scene or whatever. Say what you will about hardcore music and Ani DiFranco, those people used to bleed on stage.
Yes, you’re right - probably many things that draw us (the 40 and Over crowd) but at least part of it is a rawness and authenticity that comes through in every single aspect. While I’m not thrilled with most of what the music industry has put out in the past 10 -15 years, I can’t say it’s all inauthentic. I’m sure some of it is. But so much of it is polished and auto-tuned, and while that can be great with the right songs, it seems nearly *everything* gets that treatment lately and the music itself loses something and is worse for it. But Ren’s stuff hits hard on so many levels, it’s unreal.

Ren songs are all at least 3 layers deeper and more significant than I think after only listening 30 times. They all get better with more listening. A few other artists might have a few songs like that, but with Ren all his songs are like that. 👍

He was sick and was misdiagnosed for the first 5 years to then learn it was lime disease, which almost killed him. I believe he just finished getting treatment in Canada doing stem cell treatment. Which saved his life. So, while he was sick for over 10 years, he was still making music.
This is consistently on my tops list. Honest, desperate, hopeful, intricate, inspiring, and catchy as all git out!

Amazing track! There is a reality stream where Ren gets back to full health, becomes as big as The Beatles while still staying true to himself and his music and giving people hope. Please God let it be this reality.

I love the stripped back quality of this. I see all of the comments from people 50’s plus, I think it resonates because Ren has felt the pain, life experience and tiredness that we all feel through life but at a much younger age. Most young pop stars haven’t lived through that yet.

Hold On... dadadada Hold On... catchy as f*ck... I'm still finding myself going back to all the great tracks like this after spending weeks with Ren's new stuff on repeat. It's awesome to have 3+ Albums worth of great tunes available for me to drool over on the usual streaming services plus all the UA-cam stuff. Pretty much haven't listened to anything else since Hi Ren came out in Dec 2022.
Something I am finding with Ren is that this artist has put the work in. His catalog of songs is huge. I keep finding these gems from 5 or 7 years ago that are amazing. I have a playlist of Ren songs that gets me through 2 hours of work and I am always finding more.

OMGosh Ren. This is only the second song of yours I've listened to. The first was _Hi Ren_ - and that was like a couple months back. I've listened to pretty much every reaction I could find of it because I loved it and when we watch others' reactions to something we love it's like we're sharing it, you know?
Ren, I'm an old feller from the 70s, but like millions of others of every age, I love you and celebrate your progressive well-being. _Hi Ren_ hit me just as hard and real as it does anyone else - each of us for our own reasons and in our own way - and we all love you and wish you our continuous best.
Ok, so to wrap up, the reason I've only listened to _Hi Ren_ and now this one, is because I instinctively feel that I should ..take your music carefully. I started another - I shan't say which, yet - but within the first 10 seconds I could tell I needed to stop. It pounced (and yes your amazing music CAN pounce) on a certain sensibility of mine and I had to jump out.
This one sounded 'safe' - and it was a blast :)

Ren I have listened to all genres of music since I was 5 and I was born in 1968 and I have no never seen a young man as talented as you are. I have a son that is the same age as you, your music crosses 50 years of my life and now after listening to this song along with all of your other songs that I can find, I thought that music had nothing new it could offer this 55 year old man, but i was wrong. I love how your songs tell the truth about alot going on in the world, and I really love how you can tell a story.
