This is the most underrated kick in fighting...and pure venom in Muay Thai sparring. I like to throw a low roundhouse kick and let them check it as a setup. Then I immediately throw another one, except this time it's turned into a heel kick. The starting motion for the roundhouse and this is exactly the same, and 99% of the time they'll raise their leg again to check it, but instead end up taking a heel to the outside quad or calf.
The most underrated kick is the calve kick when the leg is lifted to defend the low kick. 😂 Much easier vs regular calve kick ❤. Don't expect many friends in the gym with such 😮
I saw many Shinkiokushin competitions where it had no effect (highest levels) and needed to check with Shihan if it's effective at all. The answer was it's possible to finish the fight with it ❤
I love this kick. I always use it in mma sparring. Never had it done to me so still a hidden gem. Used it as recent as Tuesday evening and 2 fighters had to stop mid round and sit out. A deadly kick which I’ll use for a long time
My freaking Sensei used this on me during our last sparring session. Hurts like hell on my quad still and screwed up my movement when trying to spar the others during class!
Absolutely lovely! I've never heard of this kick before, and i tested in my last sparring session, it landed 100% of the time because nobody knew how to counter it, the only problem is that since i've never trained it before i one time i failed to control the force and I hurted one of my sparring partner 😶🌫
hey brother, this is excellent. I have an Alex Pereira breakdown where I covered this kick but I didn't know the proper name so we went with Hatchet Kick (I asked my subs to vote, like small axe kick) now it has a proper name, excellent!
There actually already is a technique called the hatchet kick! It's like an axe kick, but lower and at more of an angle. Icymike at hard2hurt covered it
Yes but you'd have to land on the inside of their thigh or on the top of the thigh.. but I still see that being effective, I can imagine that hurting quite a bit.

So when you strike them with the heel is their leg up in the air mid-check or have they already set it back down after checking it?

Maasaki Noiri used this kick a lot against Ilias Bulaid. Very effective kick, thanks for this

Had this done to me by a pro mma fighter never knew about this move I swear I almost quit in sparring from how painful this is
In the correct nerve, this kick can make the legg go numb, a tricky one but effective
Texan Mawashi Geri will do the same,
I've never seen this kick before it looks very useful :)
That is some nasty kick. I will try this against my Sensei.
Let me know how it goes 👀
Kick made famous by Valeri Dimitrov... 🥋

Valeri Dimitrov special kick ;)
OSU 🥋
Could this be used to target the calves effectively and using the lead leg ?
I dont think so, unless you are very close. Like in the clinch for example. But being that close, maybe its better to just punch.
that looks brutal if it kick in the right spot!
It is 😎👊🙏
I have the recipient of clean gedan kakato Soto Geri in medium sparring. It really hurts! Osu!
Hey nero...can you please make a video about your full week of training schedule please
Sure bro!
@@NeroMMA thx bro will be waiting for it

Thank you a lot !
Thank you for watching!
Masaaki noiri vs ilias buliad . He used knees and this kick to break bulliad down 👍
Не могу найти бой, не дадите ссылку пожалуйста?
Would it work in southpaw
Dont know, then it would be very diffrent!

I’ve done this multiple times in sparring, sometimes it’s super effective but sometimes the opponent feels nothing. Not sure what I did wrong.
I believe it depends on where you connect. I try to aim for the middle of the thigh. There is where its felt the most in my opinion!
@@NeroMMA Thanks. The middle of the IT band or the quad?
The IT band is the sweet spot! Then it only takes a few!
We trained this in hapkido
Nice! Never looked into hapkido, I will now!
Is legal in kickboxing ? =)
I believe so!
Is it legal in muay thai???
I find this one harder to land under Thai or K1 rules, even with set ups. But yes, in a selfish way I hope people remain ignorant of this.
i love brazilian kick
Poatan did that
I got hit with this by my kyokushin teacher..
Helooo🇮🇩
👊🙏🙏
Sneaky
And painful 😂
