Thank you 😊 Hope you’re doing well !
You're welcome. Yes, I'm doing well so far.
A question and a suggestion.
P. 48 1st line, 2nd measure it says play the B7th with 134. And 2nd line play the E minor with 124. Why?
I’m expecting you’re going to say finger it how you want. That’s not the answer i’m looking for. I want to know if you can think of a reason why they suggest that fingering.
My suggestion. You missed a valuable teaching moment here.
P.49, 2nd line, 1st measure. It is worth noting that here in this song a new section starts and it modulates up to G.
In this case starting with G’s D7.
This was an aha! moment for me.
There are many different fingering styles. I typically would not finger these chords this way, but since I don't have any real reason to change them, I didn't say anything about them. I would do the e minor chord with 135. Using 124 leaves the hand in a better position to play the C chord in the third line. There is no one right answer so you guessed it, finger as you see fit. In the first line, if you don't want to use a thumb on a black key, finger that chord with 245.
