These bikes are amazing. Let’s just face the fact that the Japanese take an idea, run with it and make it better and more reliable...for less money. Ive worked with some Japanese engineers, they are incredible. The only downside to Japanese bikes is they depreciate quickly where H-D’s retain much more value.

I would be happy to buy a Harley again when they can make a bike like that one for the same price. HD got greedy and stupid. Now they think I should spend 20k-30k just for the opportunity to spend another 2k-5k every year just to keep the pile of junk running. Aint gonna happen. Not to mention that their customer service is BY FAR the worst in the market. They treat the "brotherhood" like a bunch of irritating idiots. In the last couple of years I have seen two new HD dealers open up . (not sure why) And before they even get the first bike out the door the "service" dept. is packed with "NEW" bikes that have issues. When they ACT like an honest American business I will gladly BUY American bikes again. They need to gut that business and start over.

Truth is, the Harleys ought to come with this statement on the owners manual, sort of like the warning label about cancer, on a cigarette package; The truth about Harley Davidson. It's a bike that is a beautifully painted and chromed marketing success story. If you've ridden a comparable Japanese motorcycle, though, and forget the hype of Harley, what you'll realize is how much better a performer the Japanese bike is. The Harley, is yester-century's technology, with tomorrow's prices. That's why they have these beautiful Harley dealerships, loaded with plenty of pretty Harley farkles, and merchandise, to wow people. The Harley Davidson Company.....knows how to suck people into the "oooh-ahh mystique", and then suck the dollar bill, life blood out of them. Plenty of Harley mechanics across this country too, and thank God for that. If you do long distance riding, your Harley's going to break down, and cost you. Even if yours hasn't broken yet, be prepared, after a long ride, to re-tighten everything. I've known guys that have dumped thousands into their Harley engine, to get it to run like a Japanese bike. The trouble is, the Harley will just break down, that much sooner.

I own 2 Harleys, but buying an 06 Stratoliner. I'll keep all 3 bikes. I've known this Strat for 15 years. It's my friends. Always wanted it. The quality of the Yamaha Stratoliner and Raider are second to none. And like you, I never get hung up on what someone rides. I too wave to anyone on a bike--except for anyone riding with colors, or on a bike with ape's or riding without a helmet. Those guys are way too cool to wave. Yeah, whatever!! All a wave is, is a hello. If you're too cool to say hello back to someone who just said hello to you, you're way too cool for me. Thx again. Nice bike. is that a custom paint job? That thing looks really nice. I've been looking into getting one. It's a pretty big upgrade to what I currently ride, but I think I will do fine on it. With just the 5 gears and short gearing, how is it on highways? My only worry so far is the air cooled because I live out on the Mojave desert where it gets up around 115-120 in the summer

How much do you have to pay for an equivelant of the 1900 from harley again...20 grand??? The screamin eagle engine is over 7 grand alone. I will take this bike or a stratoliner over a harley anyday of the week! Best bangs for the buck in my opinion. Quit being loyal to a corporation that sold out a very long time ago, and dont give a flying you know what about us. Buy what you like, be safe and just ride...without going in debt preferrably. Lmao, your brand new harley loses as much value as soon as you drive off the lot, than a stratoliner or raider costs. Isnt common sense and critical thinking skills wonderful!

I bought an 09 Yamaha Stratoliner which has the same engine and then a few months ago, I saw a 2014 Stratoliner S on FB marketplace for a good price and I bought it too. These bikes are just better than Harley’s and I don’t miss my 01 Heritage at all in comparison. The 113 cubic inch Yamaha engine with a 4 valve hemi head first came out in 06 and it’s only recently that Harley has finally come out with a comparable powerplant in their latest 114 cubic inch engine. The value and performance you get with a Raider or Stratoliner is hard to deny and the styling of the Stratoliner exceeds all of the Harley models I have seen. My 01 Heritage was under powered with the 88 cubic inch engine and the gas tank was so wide it made me feel bow legged. It looked dated even a few years ago. I just don’t see any way that my Harley was better than my Stratoliner’s. Like you said, 6th gear is the only thing that the engine needs to make it perfect. My 5 speed Heritage revved even higher than my Stratoliner’s and sounded like it on the interstate. The Stratoliner’s still feel smooth at a higher rpm and don’t sound like they are revving their guts out.

Out of everyone of them, the Honda VTX is one of the fastest cruiser bikes made, the V-rod is just a little bit faster in the quarter mile, but out of the metric bikes the VTX is the fastest cruiser bike from factory hands down. I had to really work on my skills to tame the beast. Lost all my biker buddy's because the Raider will destroy those who dare challenge it. I can't even talk about my bike because every time some guy has to have a ego battle and make the mistake to want to race it. I didn't get on a bike to race. Not trying to saying its the fastest cruiser out there because I just don't know what's all out there. Just be warned that this bike can make you lose your HD friends if they are ego riders. So now I have to remain quite and not brag and just pretend its just a normal bike. Thats tough. Never had I have to not want to talk about bikes. Now here I am with no buddies to ride with because there ego's. I don't care who has the fastest bike. I barley speed as it is, I cannot afford the ticket, or to unalive myself. Crazy to say this but I'm thinking about getting something a bit more humble so that maybe I can get to ride with people with out the worry of ego battles. Hope this helps someone who thinking about getting one, just know you might end up alone. The Raider lives up to it's name. 2014 VX1900 SCL Yall be safe out there. Please leave our egos at home. 99% of people just don't care. So no point in showing out when only 1 in a 100 guys might think its kool.

Thx for the video! I have a 2014 Raider with stock pipes and factory baffles. I see you have the stock pipes but sounds like no baffles. Are they completely gutted? I’m wanting to do the same with hopes that I have no issues with the motor. Yours sounds strong!! I’m strongly considering removing the stock baffles and replacing with Big Thunder Baffles.. Your thoughts?? Thx, Greg

First of all. Who tf EVER claimed the Raider is underrated? 😂 It's literally the powerhouse of the muscle bikes. The title of this video should be removed. And replaced with "I need clicks. So I'll say the dumbest shit possible to get them." 🤣 I own a 2011 Yamaha Raider. And ive never seen a single Harley in my life break more necks than my Raider

120 cube PR kit...lots of money...if you do everything and head work you pick up only about 17hp at the wheel...get Ivan's flash, K&N filter lid off...good 2 into 1 exhaust and power Commander WITH Dyno tuning to get it perfect. If you want more throw a 40-60 shot on it

I live in the uk and have just bought a raider. It’s in Florida. Im picking it up and doing a trip around the States. To hire a decent bike costs about about $150 a day. After 3 weeks I can sell the bike and probably loose $800. Renting will cost $4500
