- The Legacy System Migration Workbench (LSMW) can be used to mass create and mass change transactions and master data in SAP S/4HANA and SAP ECC.
LSMW has 3 different methods: Batch Input Recording, IDOCS, and Direct Input. In this video, I run a live demo for the batch input recording option to mass change cost center master data.
This is part 4 of the demo which includes:
- Run Batch Input Session SM35
- Cancel Batch Input Session
- Convert Batch Input Session from Foreground to Background
- Correct Initial fields error

That doesn't work on laptops, not enough depth to stick a paper 😂..we switched to heavy objects on the button
You explained it so well Abdullah! You cleared all most all of my LSMW doubts. Can you please do a video on LSMW IDOC method also if possible. I am currently working in a Data Migration Project and we will be using LSMW for loading master data so i want to have a clear understanding about IDOC too. Appreciate your efforts!

Very nice duration, but personally it is good both ways either long video or short as long as short ones are named as part 1,2 etc. Also, transactional data would be nice to see. Thank you.

very good video, can the same be used for Value/Amount transfer from GL to GL- and for creation of Asset and sub asset ?
It can be used for any transaction you can do manually in SAP

You can add a new time interval with a new profit center in the cost center master data with LSMW
Can you please make data migration video for batches with classification data. Or how to add classification to existing batches or materials using migration cockpit. And some pp objects like bom , routing etc..

It already has the wrong data, you have to create a new one with the new data
Hi Galal, I noticed that when creating a profit center with LSMW, a specific company code assignment cannot be made for a particular profit center. If there are multiple company codes in the system, LSMW automatically assigns the profit center to all company codes. To assign specific profit centers to specific company codes, manual processing (KE56) is required after LSMW. I saw in your video that this issue has been resolved in the Data Migration Cockpit. Is there a solution to this problem for LSMW ? Thank You.
I'm not aware about this limitation in LSMW. Have you tried direct input with BUS0015? i also see in some SAP blogs there recommendation to record transaction KEMDM
