I’m sorry you had that experience while trying to adopt an pet. Unfortunately that’s very common. I had the same happen to me while adopting my dog. The only advice I have is to stay patient and kind but take no BS.

You should ABSOLUTELY report her to those above her. And specify that it hinders them getting their pets adopted out because people don’t want to interact with people like that.

Tbh, I've not had great experiences when trying to adopt either. I'm 100% adopt, don't shop, but the people I've met at the shelters and rescues have been 😬😬😬 Really sorry you dealt with that

I can’t believe that was said to you. How wrong, racist and messed up. I hate people so much and as someone who has two adopted cats, the adoption process can be quite extreme, they will vett people, and crazy cat ladies do exist. I did foster to adopt with mine and it was easier than traditional adoption which often requires tons of paperwork and nonsense. I get they want the animal to go to a good home, and I know that shelters have had demand for adoption and have been overwhelmed, but there’s no reason for discrimination and racism. How disgusting. I don’t know why older people feel they can say such things or make the jokes that they do about Asian communities. I would leave a review or something anonymously online to warn others to stay away. Something you might be able to look into is a typical animal pound, I know those places aren’t the best and aren’t always no kill, but you’d potentially save a life that way. I’m so so sorry this happened to you, don’t give up!
I'm so sorry you were spoken to that way. But please don't let that change your mind on the animal they didn't do anything. And I agree reporting the lady she needs to spoken too on how to speak to people.

I watch them while I cook breakfast 🥰 Im sorry about what happened to you when attempting to adopt a new friend :( 💔 that conversation would’ve made me so uncomfortable!! On a lighter note, I noticed you mentioned something about the taste of your oat milk. I myself am very picky abt the brand of oat milk I drink (and don’t really like Trader Joe’s oat milk either...) 🙈!! They really do taste different! My favourites are Oatly and Chobani’s Extra Creamy Oatmilk!!
100% support reporting the racist lady to the higher ups, and I'm not sure what I would do in terms of adopting if that happened to me. Hopefully she's just a once-off and that you'll be able to get the kitty. No matter what, racism and especially in the form of a backhanded compliment, are not called for.

That's were we got ours when he was 2 months, they fixed him and did all his shots and he was only $8 to adopt!
The only things is they never seem to post kittens, so if your'e able to go in and look that might be better?

I hope you can get your precious kitty companion. Cats are great at boosting quality of life and relieving stress. When I got my cats the emotional difference was huge!
Also I recommend getting a top entry litter box. It helps reduce the amount of litter tracked around the house especially if you have a digger, lol.
I have been following another youtuber who has been having a really hard time adopting. She ended up finding someone who had a cat with sellers. It's crazy how difficult it has been to adopt pets in recent years, especially since the pandemonium started.
I had actually watched this video---try to catch them on premier day---but this one distracted me so much because of the unfortunate pet adoption experience. I forgot to like it. So doing a rewatch and liking it this time. I really hope you find a good situation for getting a friend with four legs.

You’re not wrong about the crazy cat ladies, where I am (I have experience with fostering and adopting bunnies / cats / dogs) and I have experienced the weirdest experiences with cat ones 🤣🤣

About adopting, I had a very positive experience adopting my hamster at Pasadena Humane Society. The staff (that day at least) were very nice people to meet and chat with! The facility was pretty clean and felt like they really cared about the animals, I recommend!

I also tried adopting a cat but it was so difficult I ended up going to a reputable breeder. I know it's adopt don't shop but they make adoption so difficult.. so in the end I got a cute ragdoll from a very nice breeder!
A tip for you is. While you wait to find the perfect cat. You really have to de clutter your space & make space for the new cat. The cat seriously get onto everything & anything.
OMG I went to a friend's house to look at his aunt's cats because she had 9 and needed to get rid of them. She started talking about how she rescued them from Mexicans and she said "you know how they are." and my friend just looking at me like that's the most normal thing to say.
And I was just like Excuse me?? I'm Mexican born and raised!!! I didn't say that but I definitely left.

For me I can’t do it on my iPhone so I had to get my laptop. I think you can only do it on your iPad or computer. But once you get on one of those you go to your UA-cam account and I think there is a customizing option. I’m probably gonna change mine lol
