Only reason I went with 2" is cause I thought I wouldn't have enough room. It seems to be working fine so far though. But I'll probably have to redo it at some point if I wanna get close to 4 digits.

if you want to do dry runs hook up a garden hose or something to it and let it just drain out into a bucket or something
