  • Putting a puzzle together takes both patience and persistence.
When your puzzle is a wild landscape, it also takes partnerships and vision.
The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation teamed up with conservation-minded landowners, the Bureau of Land Management and the Idaho department of Fish and Game to piece together four sections of elk habitat in southeast Idaho.
Beginning in 1997 and wrapping up in 2016, RMEF helped carry out four different project phases that transferred 3,250 acres into public ownership-all of which now makes up about 10 percent of the 34,000-acre Tex Creek Wildlife Management Area.
Those transactions not only permanently protected the land but greatly improved landscape connectivity for elk and other wildlife AND created and improved public access for hunters, hiker and others to use and enjoy it.
Opening and improving public access is key to RMEF's conservation mission.
To learn more about the sites and boundaries of RMEF access projects near you or your favorite hunting area, turn on the RMEF layer in the onX Hunt App.
Plus, use the code RMEF when you sign up for your new onX subscription to receive a 20 percent discount, and a portion of the proceeds benefit RMEF's conservation mission. --www.onxmaps.com/

Very cool, I hope to see more focus on areas with wolf affected elk.
