- Having the BOSS Dimension C DC-2w for one day, I thought to give you a small preview of what this pedal can do to a synth.

First, I’m demoing a little bit the internal chorus of the Roland JU-06 and the raw sound, and from 1:17, Dimension C enters in action.
My favourite mode is the SDD-320 and its variations.
In the end I'm adding a little Neunaber Slate delay (10:10).

The Dimension C just makes everything sound insanely better, without destroying the intent of the original sound.
Very thoughtfully put together demo, stereo chorus on the JU-06 regardless - as you intended, this was exactly the demo we needed to hear of the pedal - not he original chorus which we all now and love. I have an OG 106, but I want this for my OBXa (and SH 01a - that'll be great in poly!), so thank you - I think I'm sold. As I said, great demo - perfect for my needs. Big thumbs up. :)
Thanks for that! That's the demo I was looking for!
Very cool demo, was hoping to hear this pedal with something from the Juno line!
Beautiful sounds. Very reminiscent of the late, great Angelo Badalamenti
😔
this is great!
2 and 4 together sounds huge
could work for Bladerunner..
Great sounding FX pedal. Boss also make the MD-500 which I did some Juno (JU-06) comparisons to. I still believe that Roland added a touch of delay+reverb plus a little beef on the bottom end (EQ) to the original Juno Chorus FX - and a lot of people have said similar. I'm keen to hear the new TC Electronics one - when it eventually comes out.
Thanks for the Demo. I have the DC-2W+Strymon DIG+Strymon BlueSky. I want to use the FX for my synths, included the SH01-a but what is the most logical chain order of the FX pedals. And also, better using hte pedals on the effects send/return of the mixer or direct to the Synths (this way its called a "insert" mode???). Thanks
Chorus->Delay->Reverb is kinda "standard" but any of those pedals could fit in any order, just experiment honestly; a massive BlueSky reverb patch into the chorus into a big delay patch could be really, really cool. Depends what you want to achieve, using a mixer; you'd send what you want to effect via an auxiliary (aux) into the pedals then return that on an unused mixer channel; that gives you the best in very fine control of input level to the effects and return level from the effects. It also gives you a "dry" channel of the synth and a "wet" channel of the fx return you can blend to exact taste without, for example, losing the definition of the synth sound because it's going direct into a big reverb. I would recommend making the "mix" on your pedals basically 100% wet using this method.
Sorry im late. But what Equipment did you use in the Video beside the Boss pedal?
Hard to tell over compressed YT audio... does this pedal duplicate the famous Juno chorus in the room? Wonder how it sounds with the JP-08? The Waza Kraft analog delay also looks interesting... Nice for Roland to re-release/upgrade these analog pedals!
Yes, indeed, UA-cam doesn't do it justice - I'll make room for the original audio on my Soudcloud, soon. Unfortunately I already sent it to my friend, so I didn't had time to do any other tests. Different than Juno chorus (as you may listen in the beginning). Probably next month I'll have mine.

Alba Ecstasy After listening on better speakers, and on Soundcloud, I like the Dimension C Chorus better than the built in Juno chorus. Much more “spacious”! I REALLY like it! Would love to hear it with JP-08 and SH-01a. BTW you did not try the Juno chorus with BOTH buttons pressed. 😉
@@valdiskrebs566 He uses both buttons at 6:00
You appear to be running the JU-06 directly into the Dimmension C via a mono cable, with a mono-sum adaptor going straight into the pedal... is that right?
If so, you are negating the stereo image of the chorus which is built into JU-06.
I know that the DimmC is a nice pedal, but a truly fair comparison would be to run your JU-06 in Stereo and drive the DimmC from an effect send.
I think you will find the JU-06 built in chorus sounds pretty good =, in comparison, once you hear a stereo image. :)
That's correct, and my intention was not no compare the choruses, but to show the Dimension C. That's the reason I skipped pretty quick through the JU-06 chorus.
I think your expression with you hands suggests that the sound is much more expansive with the pedal --- but most of that is possibly due to going from mono to stereo imaging.
DimmC is a nice pedal and all, but probably a bit wasted on the JU-06 - given that is already has a fat sounding chorus built in to it, if you run it in stereo.
I am looking at the cable and connector and I wonder if you are combining L/R signal correctly, too.
If you want that to sound really good, get a little mixer and drive your DimmC from an effects send, set the pedal to 100% chorus (if you can adjust the mix) and use your mixing board to balance the signal.
Enjoy - thanks for the share..
@@craigpacker2693 I'm with you on the mono/stereo "faux pas" in this demo. Intended or not, the JU-6's built in chorus now comes off as being a cheap mono version of itself. With that said, running modulated effects signals from fx send always gives you a vastly different sound than used as an insert effect. Using send/return sums the phase of the dry signal with the modulated one which creates a new modulation stage that can alter the sound drastically. That's not to say that it sounds bad, you're just not getting the typical sound of the modulation effect. Give it a try and let me know if you hear the difference.
Sounds so 1980s
