Oh I can't count how many times I have been comforted by Our Lord in my very small afflictions! As I walk through the shadow of the valley of death, His rod and staff comforts me , because I know He has done it. Oh how sweet are the consolations of Christ my Lord!!

That is true. Spurgeon seems to have a grip on this vale of tears, but never loses sight of the glories before us!
