In this episode, spent a weekend in one of our favorite destinations, the Outer Banks of North Carolina. In particular, we stayed on the island of Ocracoke, a beautiful and uncrowded and largely undeveloped island with 16 miles of shoreline. We stayed at Bluff Shoal Motel right along the Ocracoke Harbor. We will share a tour and review of the motel and share with you what sets Ocracoke apart from most beach destinations.

Ocracoke - how lovely!! So fun to cross by a ferryboat! The lighthouses are so beautiful. Darling horses. Very nice motel. Silver Lake looks relaxing!

I've heard great things about Okracoke. It lots very nice and laid back. Loving the lighthouse and ponies! The hotel room is very well decorated. Very clean and has a beachy charm. They look very well maintained.
The shrimp and grits and fish sandwich looked delish!! The community square looks like a fun place to shop and explore. The exhibit also looks very interesting.
I have yet to really take in the Outer Banks. I've don't beliece I've ever been. There was one friend we used to visit way back, and that may have been the Outer Banks, but not sure.
Maybe one of these days we can make the trip. Thanks for sharing yet another awesome video!!
We enjoyed seeing this lovely motel with it's scenic views, Alice and Jack. An ice cream and fudge shop close by too! Would love to spend some time there. Lovely island.

Ocracoke looks so inviting. Love how authentic this beach town is. Such a refreshing change from the beaches that are over commercialized. Never been here but would love to visit. Fantastic video!
Exciting to take the ferry to the island with or without car. Wow that is a nice looking beach at the island of Ocracoke. Bluff Shoal looks well kept which obviously a challenge on a seashore. Happy mid week to you. Cheers👍

Very nice tour of Ocracoke Island. Love seeing the beautiful horses. Such lovely landscapes, beautiful motel with views of the light house and harbor. All the food look very nice. Also, so great that there are no chain restaurants. Very useful information and wonderful video.

Love this. Having a beach that was ranked best beach and not being busy - that’s a rarity. Melissa would love the ponies. You guys are the standard for room tours. Pretty cool that everything is owned by locals. outer banks is a place we still have to visit.

Absolutely loved your video! It made me really feel like I was right there with you in Ocracoke. The Bluff Shoal Motel sounds charming, especially with that private dock overlooking the harbor. Our favorite thing about this island is definitely the “No chains” policy. There are restaurant and hotel chains we love. But it is so nice to get away from that sometimes and just experience a local culture like this. We liked this motel a lot - especially the view!
We love your OBX videos - thanks! When I was a young teen, my father was in the Coast Guard. He had two-week active duty stationed in Ocracoke. And, during his active duty, my family (mother, brother and sister) stayed on our 38’ sport fishing boat docked in Silver Lake at the coast guard station just across from where stayed at the Bluff Shoal Motel. That was an epic vacation! We are leaving Monday for Manteo NC for a stay at the Burrus House Inn. Another one of our favorite spots in the OBX. You should give it a try… When was your visit to the Bluff Shoal Motel? It appeared to be a great time to visit.

Guys you do go to some great places. Ocracoke Island is stunning and no wonder one of the beaches was named the best in America . I love to see lighthouses. It seems so peaceful and quiet. The hotel looked great and in a lovely location to see the lighthouse lit up at night and I liked the porch there overlooking the harbour. Such a lovely place and great that there is a museum there to learn about the fishing industry. I enjoyed your tour ~ Anna 👍

Love Ocracoke. The lighthouse is cool because it is a different style than the others on OBX. Your hotel looked remarkably on the inside. I can’t remember where I stayed when I was there (many moons ago), I do remember eating at a place called Howard’s Pub though. Very underrated vacation spot… maybe you shouldn’t have spread the word 😂
