Fuse number 14 was broken so i just replaced it with a new one. The fuse is 10 AMPS.

Hi I'm Tim and I'm going to tell you how to replace a window fuse on a VW car. So we got this car in 2009 after my wife had an accident at a crossroads guy just t boned her. She had a 2008 Kia soul but wanted something convertible plus convenient so we got this car. Now she loves rolling the windows down when she goes driving. Because we live in North Carolina we moved here because I got a promotion and a transfer but anyway it real warm here and she loves driving around in the convertible. Well the other day alher sister was in town visiting she flew down from upstate New York and my wife is like the window stopped working. So I said well I'll look at it. It's probably just a fuse. But she is like well we are going shopping then out for lunch can you do it when we get back. And I said sure no problem I have plenty of time because it's the weekend for me. I work Tuesday through Saturday and get every Sunday and Monday off. So Anyway here we are and this is how you do it... But before I show you let's discuss what other problems it might be if it's not your fuse... 17 minutes later. .... Now let's get to the fuse replacement.

My sunroof was stuck on open and now its thunder season. Packed it and was waiting for mechanic to be availble. Didnt notice for a time that my windows wasnt working also. Checked sunroof fuse (at bootom) and it was ok. Then i remembered about youtube. Who would have guessed that all this was under lightining fuse - mirrors also and that blinking light when shut down the doors also.

Silicone the window rubber channels, over time they dry out, if the car senses too much resistance it blows the fuse

I own a 2016 VW golf R. Only the driver’s side window is stuck and won’t open at all. Others windows are working fine. Do you think it’s a blown fuse or other electric issue. The local dealership is charging $150 just to take a look. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.
Does it make any sounds when you press the button?
My guess is, the master switch needs to be replaced (the controll switch on the driver’s side for all windows). I would recommend you the window reset sequence but the window needs to roll down for completing the reset.
Try locating the fuse and replace it.
What does the picture for the number 14 on the fuse card represent? Is that the top of a window with the gears of a motor underneath?
My wiring diagram showed fuses 37 and 43 for the automatic windows?
It worked! Change the dome light fuse and the windows work. I feel like a regular human being now.
I tried this, and the new fuse set off my ani theft alarm, and it wouldn't stop until I removed the fuse. Any Idea why?

Im having the problem with the windows but the front door locks and unlocks. But the windows wont roll down they did at fist but seem to have stopped immediately before this the toher wirinh harness allowd the other ones to work but not the driver
Hi good sir I have two odd problems one happened yesterday but let me get to the most relevant one I am unable to unlock my car with the key fob but can unlock boot or I can operate the central unlocking from cabin
Oh, the other issue was I drove a whole and parked for 3 minutes around the 2nd minute my car made a really strange noise sounded like a reverse hooter like shhhhh sshhhhh shhh anyway it seemed my started was burning I believe engaging and disengaging but has not happened again
Can you open the car with the key.
Does the central lock work then.
Maybe the key doesn’t have power to send signal to open doors. Try to replace the battery.
It was my first thought , the battery has been replaced though I did get the battery from a pharmacy so not sure how long its been there or if its a good buy
What if i drive a hatchback and from my controls the passenger doesn't roll down only up but my side does both . Only the passenger control can roll down its own window.
I think that you need to buy a new window controls for the driver side (the main one on the driver door). I had that problem a long time ago and have fixed it by replacing.

Jetta 2008 driver side window rolls down but the other ones don’t when I press the button for them to roll down they make a noise like if it’s stuck and one of the windows falls on its own
If they work when you try to roll them down from each door, then you should maybe replace the windows regulator (the one who controlls all the windows from the drivers position).
Does this work with mk3's? I have a problem with the windows and the central locking system

It's the "Interior lights, central locking system" fuse
If the fuse doesn't work for you, you can roll up or down the windows with the key, put the key in the door and turn right or left to raise or lower the windows.
I have the same problem, but changing the fuse doesn't help. and I can't insert the key to open the window either
@volkswagen_2059 I've got the same problem, back Interior and boot lights don't come on but I can hear the windows clicking when I try and open them

You can check it out, doesen’t take much effort. It could be the fuse and that’s the cheapest repair.

Paddy Curé It can be that the wirres to the door have broken somewhere, and they have sometimes conection when you close/open the door.
You should check the fuses first.

@@paddycure3833 A low car battery can be the cause of many electrical problems. If you have problems with the battery draining, do a battery drain test.
My rear drivers side door wont lock any ideas without taking the door apart?
man wimba I can’t be sure but it might be that the wires are maybe broken somewhere. It isn’t a big job to check them.
I have a four door golf 4 from 1999 which I purchased 2 weeks back. All the windows were working fine except for the rear left. Last week I rolled down front passenger window and it wouldn't roll back up. I rolled the rear right and when I rolled up it worked till when it reached 3/4 and it rolled itself down automatically to 1/4... Now only my driver window works. I rolled the 2 passenger windows up by simply putting the key in the door lock and holding it in lock position for about 15 secs... But I can't roll any window down except for driver window which is working fine. The fuse is good, I even tried changing the fuse to test. Another problem is I can lock the door with the key in the door lock but I cannot unlock it back... I managed to open the front passenger door by simply punching the door handle lightly... Oh and central lock button in the car does nothing. This is making me crazy :(

This car is my daily and I live in a tropical island which has only 2 seasons, winter and summer. Even in winter it's hot as hel.. I need to fix the window asap as I'm burning, it's currently summer. 😭😭😭 I don't think it's the regulator though as they seem to be working fine when I rolled them back up with the key in the door handle locking the car...
@@sevine4667 I hade the same problem with some other mk4. It could be still the window regulator because the button may be broken inside, or there are some electrical problems inside the regulator. Try switching it with someone to check if it is the problem.
The voltage tester blinks on that fuse but still doesn't work. Is it relay or the harness?

I think before changing the fuse you may try to find why is it blown... next time it will cause wire damage.
My passat cc 2011, right door lock & passenger window not working, is it due to the fuse too?
I would check the fuses before i would do anything else, but probably the problem is between the door and the car. By that I mean the connectors which is hidden in a rubber tube. The wires do break sometimes and the door lock/window stop working.

Hi can you help. I left my headlights on and my warning beeper did not come on when i open car door. How do i re-set it so beeper warns me whenever i open my door? Needless to say lights were on 2 full days and now car battery flat 😢. Please help me to fix that beeper so it doesn't happen again

Selva Kumar I don’t think that this is a fuse problem. Maybe some of the wires have shorted somewhere. Here you can see the fuse diagram if you wanna check the fuses.

Iako radi suvozačev prozor na tvojoj strani, velike su šanse da je otišao prekidač. Meni je isti taj problem prije par godina bio. Zamijenio vozačeve komande za prozore i problem se riješio.
