Hello sew mates
Thank you so much stopping by today. I appreciate it. Today I am showing you how to make an a-line dress. Do enjoy. I must apologize, when I was showing the vertical measurements it was out of focus so forgive me. Just add all the vertical measurements and make them into a straight line. Sending all 1740 of you lots of love ❤️ and lots of kisses 😘😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰
Very nice I have successfully sewed a line dress for myself, and I'm very confident. Thanks a lot, for your tutorial. God bless
Amazing
Straight to the point. Weldon.
Lovely dress you've got there sew mate
Thanks sewmate
I love this A shape dress, great job and thanks for sharing
Your welcome.
A nice pink head wrap and pink shoes goes well with this dress.
Yes yes yes. Your favorite color. You would wear it well
First time I come à cross à désigner with Caribbean accent. All I find is Africans or Spanish Chinese. So I am happy. Cant get the accent though.. Not Jamaican because you pronounce the H lol guess kittitian lol what ever you are, you are Caribbean and I am happy that I have found you. Great job
Lol I am Jamaican . Born and bred. Lol. Thanks for being here and God bless you immensely
@@TaylorMadeDesignsSewing lol but you pronounce the H and Jamaican eat the H lol. Wel I am happy. Jamaica has fashion design ing schools. I wanted to travel there once to learn, but you know how things are there. I am afraid. So I found out that I could learn here, so I try.. One day I will be able to make my own outfits. Again happy that my fellow Caribbean is here teaching us
@@antoinetterichardson9301 hahaha I know. I try to speak proper lol. Where are you from. Keep at it one day you will learn. Am afraid to go back home too. May God have mercy on us.
@@TaylorMadeDesignsSewing I am from Sxm St Martin. Only island in the Caribbean with 2 islands on 1 land. Very small with 140 différent nationalities there. Ppl from all over there. More yardies than in Jamaica lol

Hello, I am grateful for your wonderful video. I’m about to complete the bodice block thanks to the help of your other amazing video on that subject. However I was wondering when I’m ready to make this dress can I simply trace my bodice sides to the appropriate sides of the fabric and then cut it out? Trying to surprise my wife with a new dress…
Thank you so much for sharing. It’s worth the wait😊
Welcome
Thanks and good job
Welcome
Lovely
Very nice
Thanks for sharing
wow nice very interesting video ..great video super nice..Hope connect
Thank you
Super 💕💕💕💕💓👍👍😍
Thank you so much. Enjoy
Thanks for this Madam. Quick question, Is the chest line the same as the armhole line?
U are an absolutely great teacher however could u please teach how to cut sleeves if u have not done so yet thank u God bless
Thank you so much. I have made many videos on sleeve. Please feel free to check them out and thanks for watching
Kindly asking how did you get the chest line measurement from neck?
Divide bust by 6 and add 1.5 and then from the shoulder you put that measurement
clear tutorial. I notice you did not add a seam allowance for tne armhole. is it not needed?
It depends on if you like it that way. It’s no problem I just don’t . But if you do add it to the armhole remember to add it to the sleeve
I have watched a video where the fabric is folded on Boss to cut Aline dress. Please why is it done so, and what is the difference with your cutting on straight fold before shaping. Thank you.
Great talent . New subscriber here
Thank you and welcome to the family.
Thank you so much ma God you ma
Thank you! I noticed you did not put allowance on the armhole when cutting, is that how it should be?
I actually added my seam allowance when I drafted the shoulder. I don’t usually do if I added it to the shoulder but you could do the exact measurements and then go ahead and add your sewing allowance

@@TaylorMadeDesignsSewing thank you for the reply 🤗
Pls I’ve watched videos where the fabric is folded on bias for A line dress. Why is it so, and what is the difference with your own straight method?
Hi. When someone cut a pattern on a bias it makes it easier to sew around the curved areas. Both methods are correct.
In addition to what Taylor made said, the difference is that the bias cut places the pattern at a 45° angle or any angle on the woven fabric. At that angle, the threads give the fabric more of an elasticity. With the same width at the bottom of the dress, a bias cut will give you a full drape and more fullness at the hem line. Take it this way, if you want to dance Salsa or Bachata, a dress cut to bias allow the skirt portion to fall on the bias, which means they move beautifully.
I meant on Bias
I love pink in the fabric. It’s very beautiful. You don’t need to buy clothes don’t you?!?!
No I do not buy clothes I have been making them for years
Hey Prof. I’m here again watching while I’m cutting. Where should I attach the pocket? At the waist line or 2 inches below the waist line?
2 inches below
@@TaylorMadeDesignsSewing Thank you so much for this reply. I had kept the cloth aside till I get your reply. Don’t want to spoil it this time. 😁😃
Hello sew mate. I had editing problems with my 2 previous videos and I had to upload them again so your treasured comments got deleted. If you don’t mind visiting them again. It means so much to me
Ok no problem I will. God bless you Grace
@@TaylorMadeDesignsSewing 🙏🏾
Why didn’t you add seam allowance at the neckline?
Because I have cutting free hand so I added it. So instead of cutting for instance, 4 inches for my neckline I cut 3.5 inches so when I am sewing I sew the exact 4 inch and it will be exact. But you can add your seam allowance. It all depends on you
What material did you use to make this dress?
Hi I used a cotton fabric
Thanks. I want to make one tomorrow. Yours is absolutely lovely.
@@aoshadon thank you and best of luck. Need help you can always reach out to me 🤗
Thanks very much. Will definitely upload a pic for you to see when I'm finished. How much material did you use?
@@aoshadonabout 3 yards
You can’t see the whole piece of fabric
No explanation of how you resulted in the measurements you said your bust is 11 inches?
I divided my bust by 4 then I added 1/2 inch for ease
Thanks, is that the same calculation for all the measurements?
@@angelarankin9426 no . Watch my basic bodice pattern it will clarify

You know I love A line dresses but the stomach gotta be flat for it to be flattering...#myroadblock but this is really nice and as usual you’re a great instructor.
Thank you. You don’t need a flat tummy just a good waist trainer 😌. It will look nice on you sis.
You needed to show the whole table so people will see exactly what you are doing
Yes thank you. Usually I put it above my head and it will show clearly. I didn’t realize that it was showing correctly. Thanks noted
Io non capisco cosa spieghi peccato che non fai vedere le misure che segni così da poterti seguire ugualmente
Am so sorry you didn’t understand sewmate.
