Thanks a lot for the video! trying this the first time it seems absolutely impossible to do this. so difficult to do both together..such a "basic" thing but still so complex and beautiful. appreciate all your videos a lot!
What a great contribution you make to the music world by the effort of making these videos. I'm mainly a guitarist and I don't own a Kora but have loved it for decades. So was just exploring it when I stumbled across you this morning. Now I'm going to buy one and learn because you've inspired me to dip into my piggy bank 🤗. As a guitarist might I recommend a thing guitarist do to help preserve our fingernails from string damage. Reinforce them by coating them with acrylic. Just the same acrylic women use in nail salons but use it as a simple coating on your already formed nail. They make a clear so it looks natural. There are plenty of tutorials here on UA-cam if you search acrylic nails for guitarist. Paco de Lucia had a great way of doing this I recommend researching I think his technique would especially be helpful for Kora players. Once again thank you so much for the inspiration this fine morning. Jah bless
.. Thank you ever so much for posting this, my kora playing now has a new directon to flow. A series of Techniques for Kora is a gap worth filling. Also wen u do put up some videos of full compositions can you make them about some of the not so popular ones and please, please do a breakdown of your Bleddfa or Aishla Lah tunes, they are so emotional, my favourite to listen to atmo alongside Mali Sadio. Big Respect

Hey Josh how do you play Bi Lambam?
Hi Josh
I’m learning how to play Jaraby, do you do lessons for beginners?
I do on my patreon site www.patreon.com/joshdoughty
Can anyone write the finger patterns? I don’t really follow for the second time the third string from the bottom is played. Thanks
