As we headed into this years flag day celebration, I and the small group of young, multi-talented individuals listed above decided to work together in an attempt to stream this years fautasi race live. However, due to connectivity issues, we were unable to stream live. The goal behind this project was for upcoming generation to have the opportunity to work alongside experienced, professional videographers/photographers and exchange knowledge. It was a great experience and we look forward to next years race! Praise God.

It’s nice to see all the boats at the finish line. Feel bad for Paepaeulupoo with all the interferences, but that Fealofani tho, on 🔥 Great job to all the teams 👏
Suggestion: A week before the race, all fautasi, and the committee should practice the concept of lining up evenly. The gap between fautasi should be no more than 25 meters. That is why the committee every year has a hard time controlling the fautasi because the spacing is too far apart and the entire race line up almost a mile wide. The race is losing its prestige because of the unfair line up.
Suggestions no more committee from the village that has a boat. 🤦🏽♂️Every year same committee from the village that won the race. No more silent starts. No more jet ski. If a fautasi starts early before the whistle. They are disqualified for next year race. If you don't agree then you're from that village that took off early. 😅😅😅😅😅

Overall good race. Tactics used by MT was dirty but it's part of the game. The only outcome of those types of tactics is an all out brawl between 2 villages. It will eliminate the spirit of the festivities. Competition is good but don't over-exert your pride is what brings ppl together. I don't blame the boats because currents and rough seas makes it hard to keep steady. However, it doesn't mean we can't improve. Just a concern citizen. Next year can't wait.
I really love all these comments & I wish ASG Samoan Affairs can see it... better flood Samoan Affairs emails, phone calls, & their address with all these concerns & suggestions so they can see the frustrations we the ppl have.... they'll never know if we don't step up & do something about it... we can't just talk & post about it on social media... use your Reps & Senators to push your concerns...
