Canción (Madosini Latozi Mpahleni, Suráfrica)

Memoria Audiovisual del Festival Internacional de Poesía de Medellín. Madosini Latozi Mpahleni nació en Umtata, Suráfrica, en 1922. Representa una humanidad antigua, ancestral, donde canto y poesía son una esencia indivisible. Con su presencia y expresión asistimos al legado más valioso, el tesoro de la voz, de la palabra encantatoria, la voz que sana y nos conecta con los grandes misterios. Cantante tradicional de mucha trayectoria, narra la tradición de su cultura en la región Mpondoland Xhosa, en Sudáfrica. Canta y toca instrumentos como el umrhubhe (arco de la boca), eluhadi (arco musical africano como el berimbau) y el isitolotolo (arpa). Demostró, desde su juventud, un talento muy desarrollado tanto para componer canciones como para interpretarlas con los instrumentos que ella misma fabricaba. Este conocimiento lo heredó de su madre. Su música es única, extraordinaria, por la variedad y profundidad de emociones que evoca... Ella ha realizado diversas actuaciones y ha colaborado con conocidos artistas africanos Ha publicado, entre otros, un álbum llamado El poder de las mujeres.
Participación en el 21° Festival Internacional de Poesía de Medellín, en el Cerro Nutibara, Teatro Carlos Vieco, en julio de 2011.
