I use Cutlist Pro to figure out my cuts. It leaves a little to be desired, but does a good job. One thing I really like about it is the option to print all the parts on labels that I can stick to the pieces as I finish the prep work. It greatly helps keep track of parts, especially if I happen to have more than one project going.
Good job 🎉
Thank you! Sir. One of the best tutorial.
And the tools to use for beginners
Brilliant Chad! Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Another excellent video Chad. This video will be very valuable to new woodworkers who don’t understand how to select and prepare wood. Production wise the video techniques for the transitions are great. The colored lines used tie well with the end graphic. That’s pretty slick. What was really super were the stopped action shots turning to clack and white while a circle appeared with a color clip with a more complete explanation. That’s something I’m going to have to remember for the videos I’m making. There are times when I’d love to go back and do a better explanation of something I filmed. A technique like this is perfect.
Thank you for your feedback. We are very pleased with Chad's content for these videos. He is incredibly knowledgeable. These also let me stretch my editing legs more-so than our typical product videos. That's absolutely how we came up with the little corner pop up (what we have been calling "Chad Cam") He started explaining something more after the take and we decided we needed it in there. We are headed back up to Chad's shop to film episodes 3 and 4 early next week.
Really good video! Thanks.
Excellent video and information.
Please teach me how to make it easier
Is there any extra length you should keep for width and depth? You said 1/4"-1/2" for length, does that apply to all dimensions?
I see your planer does not have a chip collector. What do you do with all the chips? I catch mine in a wheel barrow and then put them around trees or other areas where most people put bark.
@11'32" I hope you meant either 13/16 OR probably 15/16. 11/16 is gonna be a bit trickey to keep .75"!!
Hahaha yes, you are correct. I've ordered my wood stretcher from Woodcraft, but it hasn't come in yet :-)
