Hope you enjoy this performance of the 1st Mvt of Mozart's 8 Piano Sonata, by M Kumar.
Outro: Chopin - Heroic Polonaise (Op. 53)
Hello, I'm Rousseau, I make piano covers of classical and pop songs with a reactive visualizer. New videos every Monday and Thursday!
#Rousseau #Piano #PianoCover
Mozart. Piano Sonata No. 8, 1st Mvt. Imagine a 22-year old Mozart who has just moved to Paris, having severed ties with his father, and is struggling to make a living on his own. On top of this, his mother is dying. During this period, he writes the darkest of his sonatas - the only one that, up until this point, he has written in a minor key. While we don't have anything in Mozart's own words about the relationship between the sonata and his personal life, we can speculate that it is an outlet for the anger, grief, desperation, sadness and love he feels towards his mother. Losing both of his parents, Mozart's music takes the first steps of its departure from the musical world of his childhood, with uncharacteristic uses of tonality, tempo, rhythm, dynamic emphases and counterpoint. Hope you enjoy this beautiful performance by M Kumar, and hope your Thursday will be an excellent one ♥
love this little bit of history, thank you for the context Rousseau. Mr. Kumar did an incredible job, holy wow
This song is amazing. Now make Wrong Note.

Mozart: writes piece in minor to show that he is depressed.
Chopin:
@SlightlyMiffedRajang And, in spite of my knowledge about that fact, I still posted this. Apologies, but what does it have to do with anything anyway?
Edit: Jeez, that was passive aggressive.
That's funny
Genius comment.
@SlightlyMiffedRajang yes since chopin was born in 1810
SlightlyMiffedRajang what’s that got to do with this?
Even though Mozart tried to show that he's depressed with this piece it still sounds happy in some parts, the part of Mozart which he can't escape
SALIERI!!!
yeah, that's my profile pic
Yoy YTP You’re absolutely right
Hirakai Ko who exactly are you talking to? If it's me FYI i'm a male
A Bathing Dave - Well, perhaps he is showing the struggle inside his mind when playing and his irritability, which is a sign of depression too.
Rest In Peace Mozart .
Glad someone noticed :)

Mozart wrote 18 piano sonatas - which one is your favorite?
sonata no 11
No 11
Sonata no 10
Sonate 1
no 9
Mozart wrote so well in minor keys. Shame that out of the 19 piano sonatas, literally all but two of them are in major keys.
Luke Faulkner Wow, you are here?
That's what I came to said. You are right
I really like your piano playing. keep up the good work❤👍
But he transposes into minor and many of the major pieces still sound sad
Fancy seeing you here! I remember commenting on another recording of you playing. How you doing?
Only a few more weeks left of the year!! What classical piece do you want to see before 2020?

There are some parts that are interestingly similar to Piano Sonata No. 14 “Moonlight”, 3rd movement by Beethoven…
For example, 1:37 is similar to the G-sharp minor section (second subject), but with block chords instead of the fast Alberti Bass and tremoli.
Beginning at 7:04, the melody shifts to the left hand like in the F-sharp minor/ C-sharp minor development section. The left hand melody also appears later on just before the cadenza.
Actually, in the beginning itself it syncs with moonlight sonata 3rd movement. I also sense some other classical pieces here and there
Beethoven put many elements of Mozart in his pieces
You seem to be quite the Beethoven fan. It must be very exciting for you to uncover evidence that Mozart was copying/inspired by Beethoven.
Only Bach fanbois are more under-educated.
@@espressogirl68able no this came out before moonlight sonata. Impossible to copy something that didnt exist yet.
Can you give me the timestamp for the left and melody
8:16 I love it when pianists try to do vibrato xD
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 you made my day
it's a technique to relieve tension in fingers. They don't expect it to have any effect on the sound.
Neil is right. Have a look at Eric Lu or Dang Thai Son's performance of the Prelude 24 by Chopin. After playing all the other 23, the hands become so tense that the giant movements Eric Lu and Dang Thai Son make are completely reasonable.
Sabrina Chen well that may be true but I subconsciously do what Rousseau did cause I want vibrato lol
@@nsq2487 i thought it gives a certain rounding sound?

What will always impress me about Mozart is that he was always innovating, and pushing himself, creating new and better music. And in his short time on the earth he created over 600 pieces of music. Imagine what sort of pieces we would have gotten if he had lived longer, even another year. I believe if he was given more time he’d be the best of all time without contest and without rival. And despite that, in his short time he still managed to be one of if not still the best of all time

You know something good is coming when two pieces in a row aren't performed by Rousseau
I played this sonata for my master's audition! The 2nd movement is so beautiful. Well done on this movement.
Why is Mozart so freaking fun and whimsical! So light and airy. His music makes you dream and float purely.
This is one of my favourite piano compositions from Mozart!
OMFG the 0:13 part was stuck in my head for weeks but I didn't know the name of the piece, even I thought it was form beethoven xd
same!!!!! i searched the whole internet even soundtracks in Amadeus, eventually i gave up and decided to go for every piano sonata piece by Mozart and I'm finally here.
The second subject of the 3rd movement of Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 14 “Moonlight” has many similarities. The development also shares similarities.
Beethoven does feature it in the 3rd mvt of moonlight sonata
It is, moonlight sonata mvt 3
holy shit i found I already replied to this lmao
My love for Mozart is higher than the mountain and deeper than the sea
In this performance,
all is far superior splendor
I've been hearing this for 4 years and never get tired of it

"Hello mortals. Black holes are the most dense objects in the universe..."
Mozart: And to take my frustrations and sadness on this, this may be my eighth sonata...

Beethoven: Hippity hoppity, your melody is my property
Alkım Koş AHAHAH, noticed that too
What Beethoven piece is it?
go away lol, no composer will match Beethovens melodies.
Chase Sutherland Moonlight sonata 3rd movement
Same could be said for beethoven and chopin
Please respect that man, he plays trills starting on the upper note - very few pianists realise that's how they should be played in Classical period pieces.
you are the best pianist
I've ever seen on youtube
am I the only one who appreciates the smoothness of their hands :>
Haha
Lolz 😂
Epic piece. One of my favorite Mozart pieces
So rousseau levelled up. Not only growing hands now, he can multiply himself.
This sound is so calming. Have an amazing day 😘
What a beautiful piece! Many thanks to Mozart!
Very clean and elegant playing, without abusing pedals. I like it.
Due to several people claiming that whenever Mozart wrote a piece in minor key, it suddenly became unbeatable, mainly in G minor, I decided to gather all of his pieces in minor keys and publish over 70 works as a video! Guess what... Rumours are true! The video is called 'Mozart Complete Works in Minor keys' , enjoy it before it gets blocked!
7:03 Still DRE coming YESSS!
Beautiful played. I could listen to it all day. Right before my meeting I heard this song for the first time and I am calm again. Thanks for putting so much effort in every video!

Tragic key if Beethoven:

Stonefish Schubert’s impromptus and fantasies were all so beautiful☺️

Finally, been waiting over a year for this. One of my favourite Sonatas.
A dream I had once..
I walked through heaven's gates, birds rested on the ground, I heard people talking. I walked on further until I rose over a crest.
There they were, Mozart, 2pac and Stevie Nicks. They had been discussing the power of love over subcultural indifference.
Finally I was home
Fingers get 0.01 second breaks.....thanks mozart
I'm so glad you took my recommendation! this proves you listen to your fans and take all of their ideas :)
There is a hook at beginning so something concrete to base the whole piece on the rest is very sophisticated improvisation. Youre amazing. Shokran for your gift to the world
Aah... The 1778 kids will remember this
Theory: Rousseau is actually a group of multiple pianists, that's why some pieces are performed by different people and how the channel is able to churn out videos so fast.
Rousseau's channel consists of 3 people.
@@FrostDirt wait really?
@@aaronshan51 Yep, there is Rousseau, and two other people nicknamed SPQ and M Kumar. For example, SPQ performed Prelude and Fugue in C Minor and M Kumar performed Mozart Piano Sonata No. 8 in A Minor. You can who performed a piece in the description (it's always Rousseau if it's not mentioned).
