On the road: 2015 Chevy Suburban

- The Chevy Suburban has been around since 1933 and it's synonymous with "large SUV." The 2015 model is synonymous with technology as well. Brian Cooley takes it for a drive and checks the tech.

I rented and I can’t stop thinking about it
I love this car
"It actually qualifies as a seat for a child!...don't do that"
Drools.. I have five little ones... this is a must must must. If I had the money, I would buy it (#reparations).
Man, I love this truck...

Well detailed.
Haha funny. Shay just bought one of these.
how much fun is that vibrating seat going to be when your stuck in traffic in a construction zone?
Idk
71k is cheap here....a Prius here costs US$160k...
prius is trash
All that tech for driving is very useful for this SUV the size of a bus
Instead of this I would rather just get a tahoe or gmc yukon denali in all black in and out. As this car is just too long to park in town. This car and its other cousins are great to drive on a long drive across country. I once drove a friend's tahoe from montana to California. And it was smooth sailing as cabin os quiet enough for conversation while car is going 90mph. I did the same trip in a corolla, it was a nightmare I had to take an entire day at the hotel in Vegas to recover from the pain of riding a corolla.
Asad the great Suburban is for people who need the third row. There is 10 more inches of legroom in the third row of a suburban than tahoe.
God, I love America! I'm just asking myself what went wrong for me to be born in Europe. Here people want bicycles and buses that maybe could run on dog poo, while over there they still put a proper engine in a proper car...
Pick me choose me 💀
@@alleexoohe just doesn’t like living in europe lmao
Cool
The interior does not look expensive or luxurious (When you consider the price of the car).. I would say the same about the exterior. Never would I guess that this costs $72k. For that price its a bit silly to get this over Mercedes GL450, or some other premium brand cars.
S P A C E ! ! !
Oh yes it does and it is. I have this car.
Looks comfortable and some features look nice but damn it's just butt ugly... I much prefer the styling on the previous generation... This one looks like they took some cues for the xl Ford expedition
I don't understand who this car is marketed towards, at 71k you could get a land rover or Porsche. Who the hell would spend that kind of money on a chevy only exception being a new corvette. I'm so perplexed...
Maybe they want something made in the greatest country in history, America!
Erik N yeah, i don't think so
just look at the world cup for example
Neither of those will tow as much or as well, they can't accommodate as much stuff and people either. I'm perplexed by why people think a Cayenne and a Range Rover can sub for a friggen Suburban. The Range has to be at least a foot and a half shorter and the Cayenne is even smaller, the Suburban competes with neither of them.
@mak450 its 70k, why wouldn't it compete with those cars?? Otherwise at that price point it would have no competition. If you really need that much towing power and room get a full sized truck and save about 40k. All im saying is that a suburban at 70k doesn't make any sense. Also shows why GM went belly up the first time and probably will again. Between 70k camaro's and 70k suburban's chevy is out of its mind!! At least its finally doing sub compact and compact cars right.
machinekiller85 Are you serious with that question? Why doesn't it compete with those cars? Well for starters the Porsche Cayenne is more than a foot shorter than a *Tahoe*, the Range Rover is about 8" shorter and *starts at $84k*(so there goes that $70k Range Rover you were talking about) so not only is it entirely too small to be a Suburban competitor it's also in another price bracket by the time you start adding options. And if you want more space that's another well-equipped mid-sized sedan's worth of money for the long wheelbase version to still be smaller than a Suburban. That's why it doesn't compete with them. The Porsche is in no way intended for the same purpose though it at least does start at a similar price to a Suburban unlike that Range Rover, which still doesn't place an emphasis on the same things the Suburban does.
The Suburban has actual competition in the form of the Sequoia, Nissan Armada, and Ford Expedition XL, although all three are in severe need of updates and only the Expedition XL is truly Suburban sized. The other two are more Tahoe competitors, but still way closer than the Cayenne and Range Rover.
And spare us all the armchair CEO analysis of GM, the Z/28 has outrun the GT-R(track edition at that) and Turbo S on a track. Name the next cheapest car that can do that, and tell me with a straight face that the Z/28 is overpriced.
Tahoe XL
SweetWife84 suburban has been around 60 years before the Tahoe
Still looks like a fridge on wheels
kingraver507 it still sells well regardless.
One look looking fridge. And you can put a smaller fridge inside that fridge.
Makes me want a Tesla that much more.
It’s a van
I would rather get a decked out f150. This suburban is overpriced fir what you get.
John Smith I mean what are you expecting from it?
