It's not about them taking Taiwan. It's about the US response and that's what they are preparing for.
Homeless under every bridge, tax payers going bankrupt for getting ill or a higher education, open borders, American dream & upward mobility a pipe dream for people under 40..but yeah trillions for the ME, Ukraine, Netanyahu, etc., & combating China. This country's priorities are insane 😅
It’s about killing the idea of a democratic society for the Chinese people. The fact that they are so straight forward with it just shows it’s about ideology and regional power.
Exactly...
“the US response”
Or lack thereof

Wars used to be over oil, now they’ll be over chips
Cow chips? WOW 😲
I don't think that because China's 100% completely self-developed Kirin chips will catch up with TSMC, Samsung and other processes in another two or three years
It’s always about money
@@西宫德皇 : China's completely indigenous chips are the low end of market and designs 3-5 generations back. Their mid-range chips are 2-3 generations back.....but rely upon stolen Western designs, and fabrication plants built by EU and US firms and filled with Western manufactured machines. Their high-end chip production was entirely produced in Western run fabs.....which have long since closed. Chinese firms simply do not have the technical quality control to run modern chip production plants.
No! It's about america choking off chinese shipping. But america sent all its factories to China r u people stupid?
Well we might want to start building chip manufacturing plants in the US....

If this happens and by all accounts it will. I see the beginning of WWIII. I worry for my 18 year old son. He would fight, but he’s a gentle soul. Makes me think about all the kids who did the same during WWII, Korea, Vietnam. I can’t imagine the changes they dealt with experiencing the horrors of war and then coming back home, trying to adjust back into society. No wonder combat vets suffer from PTSD.
I see this every day
I'm not sure what your age is but I'm 41. I have sons 18, 17, 11 and 8. My career has been in private military sector so I'm somewhat plugged in. It is feasible men my age will be required to fight. It is also a feasible decade long war. In that case every one of my sons would likely fight and myself. If they go within the next four years able body men 45 and under will be up. They'll start with 18-25. They'll rapidly bring in ex vets and able body men 35-45. We have not aged the same. Further though we have a lot of slobs we have a lot of 40 year old plus that are physical specimen. Common sense tells you it'll be all hands on deck. We have 320-350 million Americans to a population of 1.2/1.5 billion. Add in China's manufacturing coincided with drone warfare. This is gonna be a hell of a blood bath. At the end of the day this is about population control.
@@johncoaleii1423 I’m 60. Married late. I’ve maintained my physical conditioning to a very high level, but realize I’ll be the last to go if it gets really bad. I’d go in place of my son in a heartbeat, but that’s wishful thinking. He has the heart, but not the soul for it I fear. Your comments on the 1.2 billion ring true; world dominance, 100 year plan. Add in NK and Russia, it will become a blood bath for certain. I genuinely hope for my son and your 4, it doesn’t happen. 🙏🏻

"Surface of the moon" the thing we Americans have going for us is that China doesnt wanna glass Taiwan, they wanna capture it. Which will be much more difficult for China. That point might be what evens out the conflict, meaning Taiwan being off the coast of China is to our disadvantage. But they will have to be precise and careful, which makes it easier to defend.
The fact that he would even make a comment like this really makes me doubt he is very knowledgeable on the subject. Lol the entire point of invading Taiwan is to hopefully take control of chip manafacturing which is pointless in and of itself as it relies on numerous other companies outside of Taiwan and they have already said they would destroy the plants before they let China take them over. There really isn't a situation in which China wins by invading Taiwan. It would only be used as a distraction to their distrastrous and failing economy used as a ploy for Xi to retain power and popularity.
Ideally, they want to capture it. But when they see no options and are cornered in all domains while Taiwan put up strong resistance, they wouldn't hesitate to level it. The population size in Taiwan is nothing compared to theirs. In fact, some of their scholars believe that 70% of taiwanese have some japanese blood and thus foreign and will not yield.

If I put on my funny hat for a minute, I've often wondered if maybe these major players got together a long time ago(circa the end of the cold war) and said something like "Alright this is gonna happen whether we like it or not, let's set a date to get it over with and if we can't get along by then we'll have at it." It is as you said, inevitable. Like pulling off a band aid. The strife of delay and little dragged out pot shots effecting trade, agriculture, social structure could be more devastating than just getting it over with sadly

Because the company would have to pay US workers a US wage.

The overlords at the top of the economic period don't want everyday folks making realistic wages and accumulating wealth. That's just the bonus prize for them to be able to make higher profits but it doesn't matter to them that everybody's quality of life goes down except for theirs.
There are multiple fabs being built in the US right now to grow our capacity, which we had but it was small. It wasn't being done as much before because of how incredibly expensive setting up the fabs are for the modern chip sizes being used, it's billions of dollars and if the next smallest chip size is X number of years away you may still be trying to pay off an incredibly expensive fab that is producing something that's "outdated".
Because by them time we had factories made they would have to be rebuilt for the newest chips and goes the cycle
This is 100% why we need to be self sufficient as a nation. We also need a military that’s a lot less “ woke” and more mission ready.
I agree but sometimes we need to face reality . Not one country on this earth can build or make EVERYTHING it needs or wants
@@themc.kennyshow6585 Self sufficient doesn't necessarily mean that we can find everything need here but it doesn't preclude us procuring what we need and building it here. Talk about putting all your eggs in one basket! Trump was on to something when he mentioned that globalism has no future. With a country like China positioned to leverage the shit out of a globalized economy that relies on it for much of its products and services, regionalization is the safer bet. At least the US can be insulated a bit from the worst fallout of a Taiwan conflict by emphasizing Western Hemisphere trade. China has been promoting One Belt, One Road (OBOR) and other large-scale initiatives to make it immune to sanctions from Western countries. Perhaps the US wants to draw China into a war _before_ the OBOR is fully operational.

The unspoken detail here is that the straight has very chaotic weather for a majority of the year. Two specific times of the year for about 4 months total are calm and regularly predicted each year. The problem for China is that allows Taiwan to have the element of surprise almost entirely taken away from them.
This same weather makes it difficult to send troops for an initial invasion but also for occupying the entirety or part of the island.
The middle of the island has a mountain range running down it like a spine that is very rough, difficult for armor to traverse. Allowing the USA and allies to secure the eastern coast, which has fewer ports sadly, and land reinforcements.
Topography wise it would prove to be a difficult battle especially with the size of it.
What 4 months of the year are calm?
What U.S. “allies” are going to send troops in any significant number to fight the invading PRC?
@@cherylfox6765 you know the hurricane we've been getting in Florida and North Carolina recently? Imagine that, happening at least 10 months out of the year. That's Taiwan Straits weather in a nutshell😂

An airborne invasion has never won a major operation in and of itself. Niot to mention it would take 3 milliin trooos minimum to do it. Does China have that many paratroopers? 15000 transport vehicles? It can't be done.
What's interesting is that China regulates the design of all new civilian ferry ships so that they can have a military use as well. That's an easy way to double your military capability without the military paying for it.

Correct me if I'm wrong about this, please.
Two major challenges China faces in a potential invasion of Taiwan, which are often not discussed, are related to Taiwan's geography. The island has only two locations that are suitable for amphibious assaults and landings. This limitation allows the significantly outnumbered Taiwanese forces to concentrate their troops and restrict the number of Chinese personnel and equipment that can land on the beach at any given time.
The second advantage for Taiwan is the weather conditions in the strait between China and Taiwan.
the weather in the strait is so poor that it poses significant risks for any large naval fleet attempting to cross. In fact, there are only two months each year when the weather conditions in the strait are favorable for naval operations.
These two advantages mean that Taiwan can anticipate where any Chinese amphibious landings might occur and can also gauge the timeframe for a potential invasion.
And these are huge advantages
Didn't you hear him say they will do it by air?
@neilbond2483
Yes I did. However, airborne operations have very limited capabilities.
Airborne forces usually do not have enough supplies for extended combat, so they are primarily used to secure an airhead to facilitate the arrival of larger forces before pursuing other combat goals.
Additionally, airborne units are highly susceptible to anti-aircraft weapon systems, and Taiwan possesses a wide range of such weapons and technology, largely due to American support. Furthermore, airborne operations are significantly affected by weather conditions, making them unreliable at times.
As a result, airborne units cannot serve as the leading force in any Chinese attempts to invade Taiwan. And lets not forget about The most significant threat to Chinese airborne operations, and to the Chinese military as a whole, the American military, which has committed to defending Taiwan's sovereignty and has pledged to intervene in any Chinese invasion attempt.
And also has the best airforce and anti-aircraft weapon systems on the planet

During WW2 the USMC said an invasion on Formosa would be difficult, and would require close co-ordination of 10,000 Marines. The PLA has few marines in their army. Without US. backing, Tiawan still has highly trained personell with a stockpile of tech weapons and patriotic techs who know how to operate them. They also have a network of caves stocked with ammo. The PLA has no combat experience.
On the psychological side many PLA soldiers have relatives on Tiawan, and many TW soldiers are Christian. They have patriotism, because they know they are living in a free country. That's motivation the PLA doesn't have.
On the political side, the CCP would be cut off from trading with the EU, and Australia has said they would help Tiawan.
I think all this adds up to suicide for the CCP.

The Chinese did a naval blockade exercise twice over the last year and seemed to show that it could be successful. I think a Chinese naval blockade would be extremely problematic.
I think the moment that they do a blockade on Taiwan the US and India with their friends like Japan Australia etc will blockade the straits between Malaysia and Singapore stopping China from getting oil and food from the rest of the world as well as getting their products out to the rest of the world. Yes they can go around but it will take much longer and be much more expensive. There's things the US can do as well to make life extremely uncomfortable for the Chinese without oil and food they would last less than 30 to 90 days as a country they're manufacturing would stop and people would not have food to eat. Japan would also fight against China as well as Philippines and many other countries
A Chinese Naval blockade that just stays at a blockade (like the Chinese version of the Cuban Missile Crisis), might work if they politic it well. But an invasion backed by a naval blockade? They're all dead ships floating.

Sorry, but I wholeheartedly disagree with this guy. China does not have reason to takeover Taiwan by force, but not for the reasons this guy is stating. It's because China is an extremely patient and very well planning country. What they're doing now is working very well for them, and they're not going to abandon what is obviously working for what is unknown that may or would lead to a potential loss of face, influence, and political capital worldwide without a direct threat launched against them from Taiwan, in which case the world will side with them seeing it as a justified response. And they most definitely are not going to be so short sighted enough to operate on the US "experts" timetable.
Even IF China did invade Taiwan by force, they can eat a million casualties like it's nothing, and have all the strategic advantages if such an invasion were to take place. No one else can. So no, I do not think China will forcefully invade Taiwan, but integrate it into their current sphere of control like Hong Kong without a fight, and fulfill once and for all to the world of Sun Tzu's 4000+ year old maxim that "The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting.".
That’s probably why chip factories are opening up in the U.S. because I believe Taiwan will join china soon.

Bullshit! Like Russia on its own doorstep, China would be invincible just off its own coast. Japan, Philippines... would they really go to war with the economic superpower that is China over an island that the whole world already recognises as belonging to them? For Japan that would be like going to war with the USA a second time.
When did it become the responsibility of the USA to defend Taiwan in a dispute with China? Everyone seems to just assume that it's required.
wumao
Exactly they’re the same people
😂😂 you dont defend Taïwan, you defend your interests
And you try to sabotage your ennemis,
Even Ray Charles see's it

Just a question for thought . Who remembers a balloon that was bigger than a bus that hovered all around our country for days ?
Not our WAR.
We are not talking about South America, are we?
I have no idea why this wasn’t a debate question.
This guy is full of it. He’s either ignorant or a liar or a mouth piece for the military industrial complex.
As a casual observer sitting in US, I think it is unlikely that China will invade Taiwan. The logistics of an invasion would be extremely difficult. The chance of taking over TSMC intact is near zero. China trade with US and NATO countries would come to a halt. If Strait of Molucca were closed, China imports of oil and fertilizer would stop risking famine. Peace and the status quo are in everyone's best interest.
USA borders are wide open and they talking about Taiwan 😂😂😂
Crazy how the US govt cares more about another country’s borders than our own 😂
America can prevent any agression with the correct Leadership. I am less concerned with China than our military readiness.
Move the chip plants to the us.
I have a novel idea... build the damn chips in America. We should be selling sustainable with all we have. We should not have to rely on anyone. If we can't produce it in house, then we don't need it. We survived just fine before the chips
God will protect Taiwan. In Jesus name
God is not directly intervening in the politics of man. Please read your Bibles KJV!
Make chips here in the US. Forget about sending manufacturing abroad. Our men and women need jobs here.
@@persesrathert8324they do it better, faster and cheaper chucklenuts that why taiwan specializes in it
Amen🙏
God is for spiritual protection.
No no no no... You must say "Amitabha".. Jesus has small hand in Taiwan
We are more interested in buying products from China than we are in worrying about whether they will take Taiwan
For the all the semiconductor comments. TSMC is building it's 2nd fab factory in Arizona to be ready by 2027.
They turned their nose after the whole DEI stuff, cause it turns out you need people who are genuinely good at it and not diversity hires.
Always creating a boogeyman. Classic usa
Everyone seems to think they'll just blockade it and starve the island?
It’s going to happen Harris gets elected
Yes
Trumps just going to roll over because they Compliment him. Besides the felon has a sentencing date coming up plus when was the last time a Democrat got us into a war what 65 years ago
Uh......as a Taiwanese, thank you for sharing the perspective, but if you really come here and stay sometime, you'll probably change the perspective, also about the Communist China's intention, don't get me wrong, it's there for 7 decades, just...uh.... you'll know when you here
If we go to defend Taiwan its goina be hard to tell whos Chinese and whos Taiwanese because they all look the same 😂
Ukraine and Russia??? Both look exactly the same. What did they do after a couple weeks into the war? They all issued a blue taped arm band on their arms. Don’t be stupid please.
Andrew Shultz is that you?
They just did a Chinese and Russian flyover by Alaska together which was pretty much an act of war
All the bots on here: "No, No China no want attack us. Us need no fight, we got own problems." Lol nice try, guys.
I've heard TSMC chip maker based in Taiwan 🇹🇼 is building new chip foundries in the States?! Might be a tell tell sign....🤔❗️
Both Taiwan and China state there is 1 china and both state to be the legal government. They both agree its an internal matter. The issue now is that there are a few generations of people who think of themselves as Taiwanese and not chinese, i bet. It happens over time, and they say 20 uears is a generation, and they have had 4ish since being forced to retreat to the Island.
Taiwanese have democracy, freedom of speech, freedom of The press and many other freedoms that CCP will not allow.
For good reason Twain does not want to be ruled by the Chinese communist party
I think you are basing your initial statement on old info. That was (in a way still is) the oppinion of KMT. For a long time, it was the leading party in Taiwan, but hasn't been like that for a while already.
Taiwanese see themselves as Taiwanese not Chinese anymore
@tyronemaroney335 I said that in my comment. In the political realm, it's still a Chinese civil war. People in Taiwan may want independence from China as their own government still sees them as China. The independence movement grows, but as of now, Taiwan hasn't declared independence or claimed themselves to he a sovereign nation yet. So it's still a Chinese Civil War. I'm guessing when they decide to do that is when things will get bloody between the two sides.
@@BeregondFirstCaptain and it was already explained to you, that their government doesn't see them as China. For the past 10 years (approximately), Taiwan has been governed by the DPP, which doesn't see Taiwan as China.
In one sentence he acknowledged they can turn Taiwan like the surface of the moon and the next they want their chipset technology. Kinda counterintuitive. 🥴
Should u be worried about the homeless and drug abused in your own backyard ?
How about when.Before the election?
This guy sounds like a neocon
That’s a lot of airlift power. How many trips does he think they can make? PLAAF is pretty far down on actual capacity. They might have 60-70 Y-20’s but they haul 2.5x less than C-17 because it is severely underpowered.
😂😂😂
Stop trying to bring in WAR to this Region! Asian not interested in WAR!
Read up on Asian or even Chinese history.
Ok. But how do you supply an army entirely by air, you MUST have massive sealift capacity for that. Unmolested sealift capacity.
That will not happen
Taiwan is Chinese ao whats your oroblem with that? Watch at your foots and figure out the warcrimes in Vietnam or Iraq
You must be new. Taiwan isn't in china's ao. Taiwan is its own country and a democracy we have a pact with and what war crimes? He who wins the war makes the rules
