I've walked up & down those steps dozens of times over the years and never saw any snakes. I've seen eastern Diamondbacks & Timber Rattlers as close as 1/4 mile above & below the Horseshoe Curve viewing area. They've made a strong comeback over the years. I hope the snakes don't become a problem.
Sorry missed the premiere but i didnt the replay Jacob. Man that had a lot steps going up. I wouldnt want the job of clearing off the ice and snow off of them lol. Thats an awesome place with the trains they had there. My favorite is the track that goes around a long way thru there. Thanks for sharing man.
Very interesting ...and beautiful scenery . Seems like the snakes would not hang around where people are present .....Rattlers can be deadly. ..scary to think what could happen . Enjoyed seeing all the trains . Good job , Jake : }
it's a good thing no Union Pacific thru freight conductors were in the locomotive cabs, all them people would have got mooned, ain't that right Buddy Koenig ???

It's been many years since I was there . Still looks amazing.
Def amazing!
When I was there in the late 1980s I climbed the stairs. There were no modern conveniences like today. 😁
Snakes? Train? I think I have an idea for a sequel to Snakes On A Plane
That could be good 👍 lol!
I found your video trying to show my kids some stuff about Altoona. I walked those steps once. Brutal! Beautiful scenery though!

Does anyone know y the incline is down?
That black snake would have killed the rattler if he had found it
Jacob, it's illegal to kill any snake in PA.
