While other youtubers dither and ramble, this dude is just heaps of info in no time flat. Loved it.
Brad Rampton for sure, that’s my biggest problem with youtube teachers
We need more teachers like you who just get straight to point instead of explaining every little detail that a novice wouldn't comprehend very well and isn't all that important anyway. Good work
Exactly why I started this channel, thanks man
Really helpful for most dark music really not only black metal. So these can pretty much be used in melodic crust, doom, even sludge if you play them way slower.
Bingo
Yeah, you can also use this to a Black nu metal style as well
im a beginner guitarist and these videos have been very informative and helpful, thank you very much.
that's what this channel is all about, thank you for supporting
oh shid it's him-- Cr1tical
great video :)
but arent your triplets, fourths in disguise? xD
keep it up man, thanks :)
The brief episodes of spoonfeeding were very much appreciated ! 6 weeks after picking up my first guitar, I can say with some authority that the information you're providing here is effectively impossible to find elsewhere - from the definition of 'chords', to which scales should be learned - absolutely outstanding lessons, thanks for showing us the left hand path
that's exactly why this channel exists, thanks a lot, enjoy the journey
Kickass man. Great inspiration. I personally love using minor tonalities in compositions.
My favorite type of trve riffs for black metal. \m/
Thanks for sharing. Now I can add more atmospherics riffs to my playing
YES YES YES I am learning man!
Knowing how to play Orion by Metallica really made this easier.
Awesome video!
Just be evil, that's all. Lol
Thank you for this vid. I🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻
No prob
I dunno how often you check the comments on your old videos, but I just wanted you to know you've done an incredible job with this series of videos. You're an excellent teacher and from what I can tell, I'm not the only one who thinks so.
Cheers man 🔥
Awesome vid! What axe are you using here, sounds great too.
Thanks it’s a Dean Razorback V
Cool lesson!!! ,
Greetings!!!,
Learn the fcking scales( i should)!!!,
Just like Panama
Please do a video on the " Uplifting Evil Riffs" Part from your second video ! (Dissection like riffs)
Dev, You Rock really hard! I am absorbing all your lessons. Thank you for posting, history will remember.
So, in A minor (a, b, c, d, e, f, g, a) the diatonic chords you could make would be:
Minor: a, b, d, e
Major: c, f, g
These use the shame finger shapes as you showed.
Is this correct?
Yeah that’s right, B changes to B diminished when you add the 5th (B D F)
2 people that still don't get it. Great video as always, Dev.
This is probably the best black metal guitar video out there, awesome. Helped me so much in my own songwriting.
very helpful lesson man! thanks you so much.
What tuning should I use?
whatever your favourite is
Love the style, straight to the point. No annoying long ass intro with some shitty solo or excessive info
Dude great lesson. Been in a greatful dead coma for years and have been wanting to learn a black metal sound. Thanks a bunch
thank you
Black Metal don’t need notes or teachers, it needs feeling. Have it or not.
Hey mate ! What is your guitar tuning on this BM lesson, please in order to reproduce it, please ?
E Standard
@@DevGohil Thank u. I'm French and it's not easy to get good black metal tutorials in guitar, so I thank u very much for your help and work then.
@@seigneurfred6954 cheers my dude enjoy the channel
What is the guitar name
Dean Razorback V
Ah yes, "Professional guitarist level" definitely not gonna start learning this today when i get my first electric guitar today 😆😆😅
Thanks!! I learn the scals (if i new them ithis would've been even better and like other comments really spill information): thats me listening to metal not a frown wow i have sense of humor...
Guess i need to learn more scales
This entire series is a such a huge help! Thank you so much for your earnest work
Obrigado pelo belo trabalho. Acompanho você aqui do Brasil...

Great DEV!! great for beginers, im a beginer on 54 years, i know never will play fantastic but like me and enjoy playing.
I would ask you for a NUX MG300, could be good for this type of sound??
best regards and thanks for all
Hey man, thanks a lot
Never used an NUX MG 300 so I wouldn’t know
I love how your videos just get straight into it
The triplets section sounded like Dissection
you explained this very well
Your hair is amazing, but it's gotta get tangled constantly. Mine does and it's very similar. Though it's way more curly in a lot of places so maybe that's why. And I love the guitar! What're the pickups? They sound amazing; there's absolutely no ambient buzzing sounds going on, and I'd really like to install some on my Les Paul.
Hahah, thanks, I have shorter hair now
They’re EMGs, the ENGL fireball I’m using has an in built noise gate which helps a lot with feedback, and making sure the volume is rolled down when not playing is also helpful
Pretty accurate Tyrants riff! You should make a how-to-play for this song, a lot of people on UA-cam play it wrong.
Yes please
Haha you look like jesus
thank
I feel like you've mentioned it before at some point. But what kind of pick do use?
In the Abyss tortex sharp 1.35
@@DevGohil Thank you. And thank you for these videos. They're tremendously helpful! Keep it up man!
Banyak cakap kau
What was that first riff from? I recognize it but forgot which song.
Keep up the good work!
Einsiedler the riff was improvised
@@DevGohil Wow, nice. Sounds very familiar though.
Thanks for the quick reply.
Great video. Thank you!

Appreciate this video series man! Thanks a gazillion! \,,/
You got a sub
Really wish you had a pdf to follow. Or link to website.
You’re best off watching some newer vids with the tabs on screen, check out the black metal theory series and my course for all the chord shapes
Its good to know that Im in the right direction, thank you for your explanation.
I'm trying to incorporate a black metal sound into a melodic punk band
Go for it
Nice! Very informative in a short vid
Of course you need a poster of an Lambo DIABLO in your Black Metal Guitar Lesson Video \m/ ;)
Thank you for the video, it is super helpful
I need to turn a Lambo into an amp one day
Started playing a few years ago, but lessons kinda dropped off the radar recently. Learned quite a bit of music theory, but never really was able to connect the dots between the modal scales and chords for some reason. This video literally solved that problem, thank you for all the time you put into your channel!!
Looking forward to the rest of this playlist, be well \m/
My g thank you, enjoy and stay tuned
John wick in the thumbnail
You are amazing thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!!
Amazing channel! Thanks dude! You're doing an amazing job!
Glad you enjoy it!
The songs you play are original or are they samples?
improv
Shouldn't that d be a dmin coming off an aminor. At 4:44
If it was in the key of Aminor yeah coz Dminor is the 4th chord in Aminor
Man, great lessons ! Hate when somebody just shows what he plays and then just a little slower, expecting everyone to understand and remember ))). You explain theory and fingering and show very slowly that even a giraffe like me get it !
Exactly, no point overcomplicating things
Awesome explanation.
this is very helpful bro, bless u
Awesome lesson, thanks!
Thanks dude, it helped me a lot
What.drop.
Very interesting!
Its awesome!
If this riff haven't a full song I'll be very upset by it
Just a riff at this stage, it’s just a riff inspired by Behexen’s first album
black metal manda

Question: when you play the major and minor chord progressions why are the chords only 2 notes? explain when you explained that there are major chords in black metal ?
The video is about chords constructed with two notes
@@DevGohil is there a name to those chords? i been trying to find the chord progressions of the e minor scales but i see different shapes of chords
@@DevGohil is there a name for these type of chords? i see different chord shapes of the e minor scale
@@pestilentdeath5814 this material is specialised for black metal, won’t get this info from other websites
These two note chords are called dyads, check out some of the black metal music theory lessons on this channel for extra information
@@DevGohil ok thank you do much for the information
now I only need to know how to pick that
check lesson 2
@@DevGohil haha thank you
Hah, this was the lesson I needed. I've played for a while but only recently took theory seriously. I've been playing around with these types of power chords and now I know how they fit in with theory and metal. Thanks.
Autoriff all good ✨
Im really enjoying the content dude as im trying to learn BM guitar quickly so i can put it with my drums also its cool to see someone else from england God bless dude from Birmingham
