@@pietrojenkins6901 of course its wrong, water should be manage and controled by the govt for people to use not controled by corp for commercial use meanwhile people are dying of thirst
We are heading towards the same outcomes here in the US where people in the western states have settled in desert and drought stricken areas. Then drain the groundwater and pipe in from other states to grow crops and create false green communities. This foolishness is robbing our ground waters, and rivers for people to live in deserts and worse to grow crops where they should not be grown. Maybe we should all start thinking about living in area's that have adequate rainfall and are naturally green. Peru's problems are similar, people need to stop trying to live and grow in deserts.
This is true, but also the deserts mostly get that way from misuse of resources, especially overgrazing and monoculture farming. The Sahara used to be green and vibrant! Most likely the American Southwest was, as well, but ancient people used up the resources and only now are we beginning projects to recharge the aquifers. If we did that across the Southwest, it could fully recover in our lifetimes.
Often times though, people living in desserts or rural areas are too poor to afford living near areas with more resources. It's cyclic, generations of poverty and it's hard to get out of.
Actually you have places like California that are robbing the communities in these desert areas of the water. California is buying up a lot of the water rights in these areas and then pumping the water right to their communities to major cities like LA, San Diego, Sacramento, San Francisco. It really irks me when people speak on things they have no clue about
we don't have a drought problem, with have an infraestructure problem. There's obviously climate change and it's affecting all the world, but in this instance the documentary is kinda misleading.
Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view!" Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam." Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!" Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment?
In my country we have water and people will complain of days water interruption, like water company in certain areas will stop the water for certain time in a day, mostly because of too much rain or there hasn't been any rain and the water treatment plants have lower level of water. And people do not understand that. All will complain. Including me as I work and you can't basically make everything done without water. But Compare to the situation in this country. You'll realize you're still be thankful. For now on. I won't be complaining.😔
About 40% of the Peruvian population lives in the Western part of Peru (the coastal part). Western Peru is mostly desert. About 36% live in the mountain regions of Peru. Eastern Peru, which makes up around 12% of the Peruvian population, is tropical jungle and has plenty of rivers that mostly feed into the Amazon river. About 1/3 of the entire population ( the entire population of Peru is around 33 million) live in a small area which makes up the Callao - Lima metro area.
Once a legend shared, only when the last tree is chopped down, the last river dried up, the last fish poisoned. It will be only when we realised we can't eat money.
The first scenes in the documentary also bring up something important: exporting exotic foods to the other side of the planet (in this case from Peru to Finland) which has its own emissions. It's ridiculous that in a cold Nordic country like Finland you expect to enjoy the luxuries of living in the South by making everyone pay the price in terms of causing damage to the environment. Accept the conditions of the place where you live and don't ruin the environment just because you want the perks of other countries as well.
Those people move from the mountains to Lima. For a better life, but this is what they have to face. On the mountains life is better, they have water from manantiales, lakes rivers, etc. also they can grow produce and eat better. People think that Lima in the city of the opportunities, but is not like that.
They can collect the water from the rain into Big plastic or Metal Bucks And pla e it closer to their needs Kit hen or gardening both etc Is a practice here in the USA as well by farmers who are wealthy and is a method I will adopt too To those plastic or metal can be add a pipe that runs to the kitchen. 🇺🇸CRAZY, cause here in America we WASTE so much water daily.. We have large swimming pools, we water our grass daily so it will be nice and green, we take hour long showers and baths with the tubs filled up, plus we let our kids play outside with water.. So sad..
This is such an uninformed video... just look at a map of peru, most of peru is equatorial rainforest with massive amounts of rain, most of the fruit production is in the humid eastern mountain slopes with plenty of water... the water shortages are in the desertic high plateaus and the west of peru where most of the population lives and there is no industrial fruit production there, water has always been scarce there even before humans set foot there... It is like saying there are water shortages in the sahara because Spain produces to much fruit and vegetables...

@@bseco7827 Bro it's a favela this people settled there illegaly, the only way to "relocate" them is by force. The problem is not relocation, because Lima is sorrounded by 3 rivers and there is plenty of water to give the people, the problem it's that the infraestructure (piping, sanitation) doesn't reach the favelas showed in this documentary. Lima is supposed to be a lush green valley sorrounded by hyper arid hills (which you can see in the video), so the problem is: the lack of infraestructure in these places. This is crazy! 🤔 Peru is the third largest country in South America. That is home to a section of Amazon rainforest. It's has a variety of landscape mountain, beaches, rainforest. All these are evidence to that that water scarcity is impossible this is not Africa. It's fertile land I think if there government can't do about this they must be self- sufficient to look for an alternative to lessen the water scarcity. Without access to running their citizens is at risk for lack of proper sanitation that would lead the rising of diseases.
Brazil is the largest nation in South America. Peru is third largest after Argentina. You need to remember that 40% of the Peruvian population lives on the desert western coast. That is around 13 million people. Out of 13 million of the people living on the coast, 11 million live in a small area that makes up the Callao - Lima metro area.
Peruvian government's corruption make so difficult for the country to create project in a big scale. Most people in Peru sees politician jobs as way to make them rich quick. The country has so many touristic attractions and charge highly prices to the tourist; at the end all those revenues goes to the capital of Lima where they keep %85 and only %15 goes back for sites maintenance. Corruption and Centralization are a huge problem in this Andean country .
@@mayatsnyc Yeah that was exactly happened to most countries around the world. It's true it's impossible that Peru are experiencing such condition. Don't worry sir it's a matter of time. Once the people of Peru can no longer tolerate this change would come.🤔

All i can do is for them to learn make that carrying tool above the shoulders that way it can be easily made the lifting lessen by 70 percent harwork by carrying those gallon of water
I,m watching this while looking at Lake Superior from my window on a rainy day.
it might be difficult for them but if i was in their situation i'll strive to leave the place and live somewhere else
Living in many countries is Brutal especially for poor people
All of Africa.South America Central Asia Turkmenistan Uzbekistan and South East Asia and the Middle East

You are a typical Westerner who know nothing about geography. You know, De Caprio hate to take shower because of 8 years long drought in California. Australia also has water problem. I live in tropical South East Asia and my country Indonesia has thousands of rivers, literally. Even we export bottle water. And flood is among of our problems during rainy season.
What about south asia? India Pakistan Bangladesh Srilanka , all in there.

Theyve got no drinking water but lots of coca cola what an irony
Yeah even more so coca cola owns a brand of ( water ) label /bottle too
@@jimibaked4235 and whats wrong with that ?
@@pietrojenkins6901 of course its wrong, water should be manage and controled by the govt for people to use not controled by corp for commercial use meanwhile people are dying of thirst
Coca-Cola knows what they’re doing
You meam inca cola they don't drink coca.
It really irks me when people speak on things they have no clue about
i feel so ashame that i have said my life was so difficult 🥺 may God help Peru 💜
we don't have a drought problem, with have an infraestructure problem. There's obviously climate change and it's affecting all the world, but in this instance the documentary is kinda misleading.
God will sure bless them mighty rainfall

Immature people complain about everything but have no idea what others go through. Appreciate what you have and stop crying like a little boy
God bless you all ❤
Once a legend shared, only when the last tree is chopped down, the last river dried up, the last fish poisoned.
Without water a human cannot Live

Those people move from the mountains to Lima. For a better life, but this is what they have to face. On the mountains life is better, they have water from manantiales, lakes rivers, etc. also they can grow produce and eat better. People think that Lima in the city of the opportunities, but is not like that.
Soon coming to a neighborhood near you... Las Vegas.. California.. The Mid West . Oh yeah it's coming..

They can collect the water from the rain into Big plastic or Metal Bucks
And pla e it closer to their needs
Kit hen or gardening both etc
Is a practice here in the USA as well by farmers who are wealthy and is a method I will adopt too
To those plastic or metal can be add a pipe that runs to the kitchen. Or water faucet too
No big deal
there is no rain, big part of Peru is dessert, because of cold Humbelt current
🇺🇸CRAZY, cause here in America we WASTE so much water daily.. We have large swimming pools, we water our grass daily so it will be nice and green, we take hour long showers and baths with the tubs filled up, plus we let our kids play outside with water.. So sad..
I saw on my visit miles of garbage and people living on these monstrous piles of garbage..... Very disturbing..... Not Far.. Outside Lima
they should use water desalination from seawater same technique used here in KSA
They blame everything on global warming but I bet there’s wasn’t water in their deserts 100 years ago.
Why don't favor the relocation of people, no sense to waste gas to carry water.

@@frankerz8339 You're comment is all over. Are you a troll?
@@bseco7827 Bro it's a favela this people settled there illegaly, the only way to "relocate" them is by force.
The problem is not relocation, because Lima is sorrounded by 3 rivers and there is plenty of water to give the people, the problem it's that the infraestructure (piping, sanitation) doesn't reach the favelas showed in this documentary. Lima is supposed to be a lush green valley sorrounded by hyper arid hills (which you can see in the video), so the problem is: the lack of infraestructure in these places. There's plenty of water all around Peru, in fact we are like the 5th country with most water reserves
What a depressing situation.

WHERE TO FIND WATER
There's always a way around the bureaucratic rules that people set up. If I were that woman that had running water, I would tell the people to come at night or I just wouldn't tell anybody that I was giving my water away. how would anybody know?
this is heartbreaking. why cant we fix this?
😍😍
@@ab9840 really?

Once the people of Peru can no longer tolerate this change would come.🤔

it is observed that there are no trees. would planting trees suitable to this country be of help?
Maybe grow more trees 🌲 to help the Climate change I think the trees can produce rain 🌧
How do donations get sent to them?
I was wondering if they cannot plant trees suitable for their environment
Those Indians are barking to the wrong tree ~ they need to complain to their government 🤨!
I don’t know about Lucuma trees but those prickly pear cactus are suitable.
I had no idea how much of a problem this is
Move to where the water is. Problem solved. When poor people are washing clothes in the front yards of the rich. they will find a way to get water out to the poor community.
Migration to the coastal cities continuously feed the water scarcity. This problem carries on for very long time. The prospect is gloomy. Population explosion and concentración seems to be relentless.

All videos missing missing audio at some point in the program, has audio out of sync, or has added time at any point in the video - usually at the end of the program, in the form of music with a random slideshow is stolen content. The purpose of altering audio and/or adding time to a video is to circumvent YT's automated systems to detect and prevent original content from being uploaded.
Watching stolen content not only rewards these thieves with massive ad revenue, but reduces the funds available for future projects by the media companies who've had their revenue stolen.
