This time we fight the famous Vanguards. He's definitely one of the best rets of all time, if not the best. I was a little rusty during the first few duels, although i felt like they came out pretty decently in the end. The ratio ended with 4-3 with Vanguards winning more. Usually Rets are pretty easy, but good ones like Vanguards can really catch you off guard.

This is just glorious. The understanding of the game from both sides is fantastic and editing makes it look even better. Maybe that's just me, because i am bad at wow, but still.

Appreciate it; I try to spend a good amount of time editing my content to keep it more interesting. Also, I use Vegas Pro 12!
Awesome :D The Luminant duels were more enjoyable to watch imo but how do you improve on AT'ing a rets full burst? :P Quick use of Ready Aim Fire too, i like it!
Which class/spec can dispell alter time ? I often get baited by letting it up way too longer :p

I really enjoyed these duels, huge respect that you keep duelling people who actually know what they are doing. On skill-capped I see a lot of huge arena names doing duel guides and just...sometimes I'm amazed what they teach and who they fight. Been watching you since cata, I do not play mage -have tried though, but I will always keep watching your vids bro! Something for you more, I play on mop private server and all fmages who I face, and don't suck, answer me only one name,after the question how they learned fire spec - HANSOL. You are really a legend man :) You are really considered great among casual players. I wish that you will keep having fun with fire and get a lot of sponsors. /salute

I love seeing other rets use Aura for the resist, + i think Vanguards is running 30s DP and Holy Prism for the sustain. Very awesome duels.

cool video like always! I feel like Vanguards did a much better job at using hand of freedom and aura mastery than luminant did. Do you think that the matchup is still favored for you against a good ret? I don't have full gear yet, so it's pretty hard to kill a ret, because they heal so much.
I used to think Rets were easy to beat until I fought good Rets such as Vanguards or Luminant. They proved me wrong. A fight consisting of an average Ret vs an average Fire Mage; the Fire Mage should win, but in top tier duels, Rets have a much higher chance of winning due to the handful of utility they can rotate to counter Fire's setup which is needed to drain defensives and score kills.

I notice when the pally bubbles that you use block aswell, If pallys bubble they get a debuff on Dmg dealing right ? 50% orso. Wasnt it better if you have saved your block for when his bubble gets off and he can do his bigger dmg again.
If he dont block the bubble then Vanguards could just freely damage him for aight sec... if he blinks the bubble, Vanguards just stuns him, drops bubble and bursts, or heals up till Ice Block fades/gets silenced on heal and bursts Hansol down... poor Hansol dont had much good choices that moment.

Idk how I managed it, but I have never seen your videos, but I have heard the name from playing a mage for years. I use to main frost all day long but went fire because frost has become boring. Fire is where its at and I love seeing you blow people apart as a spec most wouldn't take seriously thanks for the vids and the inspiration!! looking forward to Fire in warlords!

Just gotta say, I really enjoy your vids. I mainly pvp with my Mage, sometimes I heal with my pally but my Mage is just for pvp. I came up as frost but on a whim I changed to fire and by lucky accident I found your channel. Taking cues from watching your vids, I'm having a blast! No pun intended. Fire may not be the preferred pvp spec but I find it fun as all hell! Thank you for your videos and please keep tem coming.

Pvp spec. Something to that effect and I saw that you had quite a few videos. After watching a couple of duels and some 2v2 arena matches I was like," hey, this guy's got his stuff together!" Been watching ever since.

A ret paladin was the first class that I played in WoW, but I didn't like holy power, so I quit. Then I came back as mage :D

They currently have decided to drop payments temporarily, so I won't be using the intro for now.

Wondering where the blinding lights, hand of freedoms and other hands went. Maybe I didn't catch them? But at the same time you knew to silence the roots/deeps to prevent hands. Ret is a really easy to learn spec, but mastering the hands, procs, CCs and off healing, that takes class.

Great vid Hansol!! but with your comments it would have been even better :) i've always play ret and it's kind hard to play it since mop came out. Vanguards is amazing as ret but it's almost the only one to be at the top, if you take a look at the PVP ladder in US and europe ret are very very far it misses something.
I'll do a commentary version on these duels soon.

i actually am straying from my usual feral and leveling a mage because of you i have a friend who usually plays hpriest with my feral because thats all we can do atm as feral but he wants to try shadow so if we just find a restro we could do godcomp and ill be like a mini hansol only ever playing with the same priest
