    I have a friend that owns an airgun shop and he was kinda mad I didn’t by his 800$ carbon fiber tank and then spend another 400$ on a fill valve for it. When I told him I got a 6.8 ltr carbon fiber tank from Ace Care for 289$ valve included with fill hose also…I thought he was gonna smack me a good one. It works just as good for me. Still has a 30 year shelf life and gives me a ton of fills on all my airguns reliability. To each their own bud. You get what you can afford because as long as your shooting then all is well imo.👍 Thanks for making this informative video for us all to enjoy and learn from.

      It’s a big leap to get into pcps that’s for sure. I finally saved up the $$ last year and dove it head first!!! And let me tell you, when you hear that POP! from your slug entering a starlings chest 200 yards off, it makes it all worth it!! If you don’t like shooting over 50 yards then a break barrel is definitely the way to go!! But you want to shoot 250-300 yards with insane accuracy? Fx, Vulcan, huben, daystate pcp is the way to go.

    Great video, very informative. If I can add to the getting your air tank filled dilemma, I have one of the tanks you in your possession. I have an AirVenturi 100 cu inch tank and was getting it filled at a local SCUBA fill shop for the past 5 years. The problem I ran into was that these tanks require a re-certification hydrostatic test after five years. My local SCUBA shop was not authorized to perform such a test. I had to drive an hour away to find a shop that can perform that hydrostatic test. Just something else to consider when buying such a tank.

    I have to say I was misled into getting a 72cuft tan k. I have a aea challenger pro .25. Running 2000psi reg and 4000 psi filled. I had thought that this tank 72cuft would fill the 350cc from empty 10-15 times but it doesn’t. 1st empty filled on the 350cc tube the reg on the tank drops to 3.5k-3.9k psi. From there after each top off the tank starts to empty. The 72cuft will fully fill one time and top off maybe 4-5 times and it done. If you plan to shoot alot and don’t have the expensive guns with high efficiency shot counts, just get a portable compressor and save yourself the trouble. The compressor may take 5-10 minutes to fill but it fills to your desired setting. I hope you don’t make the same mistakes i did, spending $700 on a tank that fills 1 times with 4/5 top offs

    • @ShootingTargets727
      @ShootingTargets727  8 місяців тому +2

      WOW 4000 PSI fill ? That is VERY HIGH ??? Something to look out for is the fill pressure. If you need 4400 PSI and have a 4500psi tank you will not get many fills for sure. That is why I like lower PSI operating rifles like the old days of 3000 or 2000 since you get more fills from a tank. Hope thins work out for you as I mentioned in the video there is a Refil calculator that gives you rough estimates on your fills giving your starting pressure, cubic feet, operating pressures and reg pressures. Best of luck man, my big bores chew through air while my .177 sip air..

    Just want to make sure my train of thought is correct.
    I'm thinking of getting a Benjamin Armada, it has a 3,000psi/215cc cylinder size reservoir attached. If I were to get an Air Venturi Mini Wingman(carbon fiber) 100 cu in.(1638cc) tank would it refill my gun 7 times to max pressure? Because 1638/215--> 7.6x or about 210 shots saying that it gets about 30 per reservoir on .22cal if the Venturi is filled to 3,000psi?
    In that case if I was plinking I think I would want to go with the 70 cu ft to have over a tin worth of shots handy if i'm out

    • @ShootingTargets727
      @ShootingTargets727  Рік тому +1

      Rights, So those small 100 in guppy tanks are ok for walking around hunting for a refill and topping off. If you want to target shoot I look at those as a 1 to 2 hours of shooting max. The 74CUft is like 1/2 to 3/4 day of shooting and if I want an all day I take the 98cu ft tank. Again depends on the caliber and air usage. If I had a .177 impact with 700 shot count yea the guppy tank would be all I need for any type of shooting. I mean it is crazy when you go up calibers you burn air. .177 FPE 12 is a dream to shoot for shot count.

    I own a Daystate Regal and one of these large Omega tanks and I love my rifle but I detest having to fill one from a tank. I might get 2-3 fillings from a tank if I'm lucky but shooters should understand that once the pressure inside the airgun meets or demands a higher pressure than the tank can deliver, the tank will need to be refilled to bring back enough pressure to push air from the tank into your gun.
    These tanks are expensive and I would seriously advise a newbee in the airgun game to buy a good portable compressor and fill your gun with that device. Most of them cost less than these tanks and you will never need a tank again.

You are probably better to find a down converter or down regulator or an external regulator that way you can fine tune you shots. Especially if it is 50 cal for the best accuracy. Shooting tethered. I do have a video on external regulators or top things you need for airgunning that might help. Again just be careful hooking up and using external lines to your PCP. thanks man !

That pushes my tanks from say 275 bar to 300 bar easily. So if it were in my car say 120+ to 150 degrees then we are talking well over 300 bar fill. Just the things I noticed. If I may chime in here... a lot of people run into the issue of filling these larger tanks as the gentleman in the video explained. But one option that a lot of people COMPLETELY look past as a very "reliable option" for filling these larger tanks is... your local firehouse. Many of the fire stations fill their own breathing tanks and will fill any size tank for 15$. Doesn't matter what size tanks you fill... they charge the same flat fee to fill up people's tanks. Honestly, tho, if you are like me and hate relying on others for your abilities to do something lol... and you have the funds and love shooting alot, just buy a larger tank and a GX compressor that can fill them with no problem. I bought the largest sized "GX compressor" that the company offers... off Amazon for $1250.00 and then bought 2 of the largest tanks in this video. I absolutely love my Umarex Gauntlet 2 .30 cal and have 2 arces of land that I have an EXTREMELY LARGE population of deer on. I bow hunt, black powered, crossbow and airgun hunt on my property, and my neighbors properties ( with their permission ) that span a few square miles in woodlands. So, for me, it was worth the cost of buying the tanks and largest GX compressor because I also shoot ALOT of target practice. I have a range that I made at the back of my property in the pine Barrens in South Jersey. So if you have, or are deciding to get the larger bore airguns... think about the compressor and tank situation now, and if it's in your budget to buy the proper gear to fill yourself. A lot of guys will opt for the smaller compressors and fill their large tanks in 10 to 15 min intervals until they are filled. The initial fill is and will be the longest. Then you are pretty much just "topping off" every time after if you don't completely empty your tanks. But before I just ended up and had enough of constantly running down to my local fire station to fill up my tanks... I just bought the GX compressor that fills those larger tanks extremely fast. That way, I am not relying on anyone but myself to be able to shoot when I want. I have that Hatsan .25 that you just purchased and it is okay on air.. but once you empty your tank on that airgun, you will want to keep shooting lol. It isnt a gigantic air hog, but it also isnt a .177 either lol. That is exactly why i bought the hatsan bullpup in .177 because it was so fun to shoot and i wanted the smaller version to get ALOT of shots with and wasnt a big bore airgun. The one main thing with Hatsans is that they do come empty and your first intial fill will seat the main o ring inside the airgun/tank. so unfortunately that cant be filled the 1st time with a hand pump... because it needs that intial large burst to seat things properly in those particular airguns. Alot of people buy those as their 1st airguns and think their new Hatsan is defective or broken because they cant fill it the 1st time with a hand pump. Alot of people think that they can just get by with the hand pump at 1st... but with the Hatsan it needs the compressor to seat it properly. Your comment was from a month ago, so iam sure you have figured that out by now lol. Have a good one

      @SHOOTING TARGETS No, I get it.. That's why I thought I would just add this in, lol. I know how it can be in informative videos like this. You have a lot of ground to cover, with the topic at hand. I am friends with many content creators and how it is very easy to forget to mention something... then after all is said and done, and then you are like " ahhhh damn it, I forget to mention so and so" so I just thought I would give this person a heads up because I didnt think i heard you mention it as a fill option. Like you said, tho, that is a hit or miss option..... but it is one a lot of people dont know when they are starting out. You did a great job at explaining everything. I actually have never come across your channel before, and your video just came up on my auto-play while I am working in my art studio and Bindery. You caught my attention because I just bought a few larger tanks. I am looking to get even more since I have family cabins in the mountains, and I want to buy some more tanks and another compressor so I don't have to lug everything back and forth. I am extremely fortunate that I can afford the ability to purchase everything, to do everything myself! I remember how I felt completely "overwhelmed" with all the new choices/decisions you must make when getting into the airgun market. There is almost wayyyy too much stuff that is out now to keep track of everything, lol. I am gonna check out a few more of your vids, and i just subbed to you.

      There are down regulators that take 4500 psi and convert it down to 2000 Psi or lower. AOA, prymid air, and utah airguns sell these adapters. There are a bunch of different ones. Mine costs roughly $550.00 be aware they can get expensive.

    Man, I want to buy a tank for my fx impact m3 22, but I use a 700cc 300 bar bottle, but I only fill it to 250. Will I get a 9 or 12 fills with those big tanks 🤔??? Or I can use my 580cc even the 480cc. I use a Yong heng compressor to fill my guns, but I need a tank to go do pest control I don't know it would be hard to take youg heng compressor with a buck of water then find a plug for it lol 😅😅😅 I'll probably look like a idiot haha 😅

      Yea those compressors take time to pump as well. Hmmm I mean you would have to do a crap ton of animal elimination to run out of air ?? in a 22 you should be able to last 1000s of shots.

      @@chrisfigueroa3361 Chris I have 3 tank sizes. All of them I refill to max when I get home. Small tank 100 cu for day hunting with a .177, 22, 25 cal , Not target but enough for 100s if not 1000+ Shots. for hunting. medium size tank 74 cu ft for target and range, .22, 25, 257, 308 target shooting. 100s if not 1000+, shots. Target Shooting BIG BORE, .257, 308, 357, 457 use 98 cu ft. Maybe 100+ shots but less than 1000. Big Bore eats air. I use to carry my 98 CF tank with me everywhere in my car when hunting or target it does eveyrthing. I use to get it refilled at scheels sporting for $25.00, no longer i bought a compressor. If you walk alot and hunt and shoot alot only option is lower caliber and a small 100 cu tank. If you do not have an air compressor I would GO large fill until you run out, walk back to the car when hunting for more air. Hope this helps.

      Side note, there is a reason why I like the .177 in 12 FPE is you can literally get 1 fill and have over 1000+ shots in an impact or delta wolf. The FTP 900 12 FPE give about 175 shots plenty for real hunting. The FX at 12 FPE 580cc tank will give you 700 shots all day shooting and fun...

      Sorry catching up on comments this got by me. Well, hmm sometimes valves on tanks have max ouput pressure. Like paintball tanks will pump up to 4500 psi but when filling the paint ball marker it only ouputs air to 800psi. FYI check you guages to make sure everything is all good. Thanks for watching.

    MAN! You're paying $35-$40 per fill for a 98 cu. ft. carbon fiber tank? Remind me to never go to your area...
    I have a dive shop I've been using for years which will fill my 98 (from around 2,500psi) to 310 bar (4,500psi) for $10!

      yep, it use to be cheap but then people were using too much air so they kept increasing the price. Sadly at the end they were like hey this 98ft tank is killing our fills so we are going to make it painful for you to come here. It was a way of chasing business away. Also thanks for watching, sharing and the sub.
