- The Story of the Three Little Pigs
Once upon a time, Mama Pig had three little piglets. When they grew up, Mama Pig said, "Children, you must build your own houses! Remember to make them strong, so the Big Bad Wolf can’t bully you." The three little pigs agreed, but they had different ideas about how to do it.
Big Brother Pig was lazy. He carried a pile of straw and quickly built a small house. He clapped his hands proudly and said, "Haha, I'm so clever! It’s fast and easy, and now I have time for a nap."
Little Brother Pig frowned and said, "Big Brother, this thin straw house will collapse when the wind blows!"
Big Brother Pig wasn’t worried. He waved his hand and said, "Don’t worry, we won’t be that unlucky!"
Second Brother Pig liked to slack off, but he wanted to be a bit better than Big Brother. He carried some wooden planks, hammered them together, and built a wooden house in three days. He wiped his brow and said proudly, "My house is strong and looks great! It’s much better than the straw house!"
Little Brother Pig warned him, "Second Brother, although the wooden house is better than the straw one, it still can’t withstand a strong impact."
Second Brother Pig shrugged and said, "Little Brother, you’re being too careful. Nothing’s going to happen!"
Little Brother Pig worked the hardest. He carefully selected bricks, mixed cement, and worked from morning until night. Big Brother and Second Brother teased him as they passed by, "You’re so slow, how silly!"
But Little Brother Pig wasn’t upset. He just said, "Slow and steady wins the race! My brick house won’t be blown away or knocked down, it’s the safest!" After a month of hard work, his brick house was finally finished-beautiful and strong!
One day, a hungry Big Bad Wolf walked into the village. He sniffed the air and thought, "Mmm, I smell pigs! Tonight, I’ll have a delicious pork feast!"
The Big Bad Wolf came to Big Brother Pig’s straw house and shouted, "Open up! Or I’ll blow your house down!"
Big Brother Pig trembled in fear and yelled, "I won’t open! I won’t open!"
The Big Bad Wolf took a deep breath and blew with all his might, "Hoo-!" The straw flew everywhere, and Big Brother Pig ran as fast as he could, straight to Second Brother Pig’s wooden house.
The Big Bad Wolf chased after them and said smugly, "Two little pigs, open up! Or I’ll knock down your house!"
The two pigs huddled together inside and shouted, "We won’t open!"
The Big Bad Wolf stepped back and then charged at the wooden house, "Boom-!" The house shook and fell apart!
Big Brother and Second Brother Pig ran as fast as they could, straight to Little Brother Pig’s brick house.
The Big Bad Wolf was furious. He came to the brick house and roared, "Three little pigs, you’re finished! Open the door!"
Little Brother Pig calmly told his brothers, "Don’t worry, my brick house is the strongest!"
The Big Bad Wolf took a deep breath and blew, "Hoo-!" He blew once, twice, three times, but the brick house didn’t move.
He backed up and charged at the house, "Bang-!" He hit the wall and got dizzy, but the brick house stood firm.
The Big Bad Wolf was unwilling to give up. He climbed up onto the roof, planning to sneak down the chimney. Little Brother Pig had already seen through his plan and quickly placed a pot of hot water under the chimney.
When the Big Bad Wolf slid down the chimney, "Splash!" He fell right into the hot water and screamed, "Ahh, it’s so hot!"
The Big Bad Wolf ran out of the brick house as fast as he could, never to return.
The three little pigs cheered, "Hooray! We’re safe!"
Big Brother and Second Brother thanked Little Brother, and the three of them lived happily together, working as a team and enjoying a joyful life.
