Patriot made me feel more than I had in years. Maybe that was timing, but it holds up as fresh and original, funny and deep and always visually beautiful. The silences which worked their way in toward the end , felt like respect for the characters and viewers alike in a way I haven’t seen or felt from TV. John in the final scene is as inseparable in my memory as actual scenes from my own life. Patriot entertained but communicated something noble between the lines.
Conrad is a genius. The 2 best, most underrated tv series I’ve ever seen.

The best onscreen chemistry between 2 actors in all of TV is Terry O'Quinn and Kurtwood Smith.
Indeed! Kurtwood Smith's "Leslie Claret" was hilarious! I mean "he wrote the book!" The whole cokehead, regretful dad backstory was brilliant too.
I would love to see at least one short film putting John “Lakeman” in some background missions throughout the 21st century
