The smoke is a killer too.
What do you think they use to power the power stations that make the electricity? Gas and oil. It just moves the pollution to the area by the power station from the city. There is no saving plus lithium and cobalt is mined my child slaves and the land is polluted for 1000years where it’s been mined.
As deadly as the fire. Being near that smoke can permanently destroy your lungs and damage your eyes. This is why most fire departments just let EV's burn out. Too dangerous to get close to put out. And you need an airport style foam truck to do that. Water just makes it worse.

China isn't a threat to European car manufacturers their own governments are with their net zero mandates.
Yeap, the best product would otherwise be the most selling, witch is the old cars, but government is killing the old cars and someplaces paying with our money to have those old cars scrapped. They want everyone to have these things, since EV can very easily set to limit time, range and places you are not allowed to travel to, giving governments via manufacturers limit your movement. Want to live on countryside, nope UN agenda 2030 dictates people must be forced into mega cities where you own nothing and you are happy about it... or else. Hence they will limit on how far you are allowed to drive, slowly limiting it into small towns, then small cities, larger cities and finally to few mega cities, witch point next generation wont bat a eye cause hey why would we need or want to go outside of the city, we have the coffin size pod to "live" in and government provides everything we need to survive... unless we speak against them...

EVs dont need to be 'revisited' - they are DEAD. Just look at Florida right now. How in the name of hell are you supposed to evacuate when your car is stuck in a queue for everyone trying to leave and then you run out of battery! Or, you have to go through salt flood water. And then your battery goes into thermal runaway.
Ban the EU, easily than banning ICE cars
Don't overreact,I'm pretty shure that in natural disasters gas pump stations quickly run out of fuel or stop working altogether without electricity. If you have fully charged EV in that case you're king of the road plus your car don't waste energy idling in long cues and is most efficient in stop and go traffic which is almost inevitable in those situation - so it's not all that simple.
Plus yes few EVs caught fire but all ICE cars get useless when flooded too. You can not drive ICE cars in deeper water and well-sealed EV might just be able to do that because it doesn't have air intake for the motor combustion like ICE cars.

@ms-jl6dl Good point! Not to mention how convenient it is to keep a couple of full cans of electricity on hand in case there are lines at the charge station.
My suburb has a local MG dealer. To draw people into the premises, a proper MG from about the 1960's takes pride of place where passersby can clearly see it. To be attempting to link the British MG's with the latest Chinese built models is very insulting to the public. They have NOTHING in common, and don't even provide the British with manufacturing jobs.
Let that sink in; current MG's are NOT British!
A lot of older people think they are still M.G of old and buy them
That’s tragic…
Exactly the same here in Northumberland England. Our local dealer has a classic mg at the front door.
My son has an MG and went for the 'oil drip' option, basically a calibrated control of drip per minute from a reservoir under the engine. He's also opted for the loud cranking rattle on starting (death knock) so fondly remembered from the good old days of Austin.
That is 100% true, but Chinese companies seem happy buying up European brands we're all familiar with to try and boost sales. Stellantis are doing the same with the new Leapmotor T03, which they'll launch in the UK under the Vauxhall name. It's the ugliest, cheapest peice of Chinese junk you'll ever see, and it's only making waves because it will sell for about £16k to try and generate some EV sales.
The state of the burnt out ev's, no one was hurt, they mean no one was immediately hurt. The toxic pollution will harm people.

I was really surprised in Florida when PRIOR to the hurricane the authorities finally accepted the fact that these EV's in flood prone areas are a bad idea and indeed a fire hazard. 2. By brakes I assume you mean mechanical brakes? There's *LITERALLY NO example of a car without a mechanical brake linkage,* as it's required BY LAW to include one. Even the Tesla cars still use brake fluid and even with a total electrical failure the brakes will still work.
3. By law, *cars with electronically actuated door releases must also include a mechanical release.* The only problem is some users aren't aware of these, however this is a) user's fault b) not knowing how to use your car is not exclusive to EVs.

@@ArshAZ83 pretty close, we are at a glacial minimum right now, still an ice age but 11-10,000 years ago it was a little bit cooler. however when you're talking about 400+ million years, 10,000 years ago is right now.
@@ArshAZ83 It doesn't matter what happened million years ago. We are facing climate change now with all its costs and refugees.
Its a false flag operation. Please educate yourself. @gerbre1
The volvo should have AEB. It should have applied the brakes when it sensed the wall
Smart people are good, smart devices are not.
Exactly. So even if the driver pressed on the wrong pedal (happens occasionally in automatic cars), the car should have sensed that it was about to hit something- then cut power and brake.
One of the requirements on cars since 2019, needed to achieve a 5* safety rating.
My Volvo has that. It slams the brakes on when you're approaching a bend that has a hedge or wall lining the bend. The car sees you as heading at speed towards a fixed object and brakes.
Car pulled out in front of me the other day. Car don't react, had I not swerved I'd have t-boned him.
Many 18 wheelers have them too. It OFTEN engages for no reason, sometimes causing wrecks. Imagine that happening on a slippery road.
Just more reasons for not buying an EV.
My God! The hood is like burned paper!
something is wrong since the volvo and all new cars have a automatic stop system, that if its going into something it will autobreak... and this clearly did not
I had a jeep with that system, it would autobrake whether there was anything in the way or not.
@@spocko2181 only happened in a carwash for me lol. It does not feel safe at all
My foot is the only thing that matters
Volvo, Tesla, China. Please donate one of your electric cars to PM Trudeau with a rule that only he must drive it daily and be the "only" driver! 😆😆
How Ironic. YT forced a Ad for Landrover in before this vid started!. What the Jibby jab missed the E.V.'s are mopping up. I haven't seen many Politicians bimbling about in E.V's , Has anyone else across the West??.
YT blocks comments here by taking 5 minutes to pop up the comment box after multiple attempts
YT Deletion Squads are busy protecting the usual suspects.
They will be coming for us sooner or later.
The oil price is dropping because demand is lower than expected - for oil traded through western banks and exchanges. 600,000 barrels of oil per day. Because OPEC and others are selling direct to China and trading in currencies other than the dollar. This is causing the price per barrel to remain at around 72 dollars per barrel when industry pundits expected it to be at around 93 dollars per barrel.
In addition, nobody is peoperly tracking Russian oil that is being traded at discount to certain countries, and subsequently relabelled and sold on, at profit to third parties. This is also "undermining" the "official" western oil price per barrel.
The current price per barrel that oil is currently being traded at means that it is uneconomical for American produces to set up new wells or fracking facilities.
The price of oil will go back up as western supplies begin drying up and western demand exceeds western supply. All pre-supposing that sanctions avoidance doesn't operate to keep the price low - as it possibly is right now.
What is more interesting is what will happen to western oil supplies when OPEC and most other large oil producers sell oil as part of a BRICS exchange that operates totally outside of the petro-dollar influence. What price will this new market or organisation charge for oil that is exported outside of itself to western nations?
Is it any wonder certain vested interests want to see the Middle East and Russia go up in flames??
demand will continue to plummet, only artificial pricing will prop it up, the depression is here
The designer of that Norwegian car park needs to be in court.!
No way should a car be able to drive through a barrier wall like that.
You did it! There is no blanking blank-check box below this video! Blank the algorithm!
EV...Evaporating Vehicle; the kraze is also .. evaporating.
We didn't start the fire
It was always burning
Since the world's been turning
Can we call the car accident in Norway the first KILL for AI ?
I love my diesel engine,
EVs are terrible and dangerous under any circumstances.
FAFO. EVs are stupidly dangerous.
Thanks
Salt water is very bad, regular water isn't much better. Turn your laptop off and pour water over it. Dry it out. Turn it back on and watch half the capacitors blow.
The battery has to be under the car for weight and stability but that's the worst place for it.
Yep .. no car with any "smarts" in it for me!
It’s a problem with how people think. A smart person is good, so obviously a smart piece of tech is too they think.
Yeah. I'm smart enough to drive a car myself.
@@spocko2181 that is the irony of 'smart' tech, it's used exclusively by stupid people
Fair enough... But, you have to understand that EV does not necessitate smarts... Tesla roadster ie. has no fancy tech, it's just an electric sports car.
Re: ev's and the new Spirit of Tazzy ferry that will be launched soon.
Late last year, 2023, I spoke to one of the current ranked staff and he told me that...
The new Spirit will actually allow ev's, on one deck, there will be fire curtains everywhere around it ... and.. falk lifts.
The idea is that if there is just one indication of smoke they will lower rhe ramp and quickly push every one of them into Bass Straight and keep going, they won't even stop the ferry.
Yep, I think the best plan is to just NOT let them onto the ferry to start with, the risk/cost analysis is just not adding up.
How on earth have these mobile death traps ever been allowed on to public roads?
Were they approved by the same idiots who installed MCAS systems on the 737 Max?
Yes. Negligent voters elect negligent rulers who appoint negligent regulators.
I was given an xc60 phev as a rental in England. I felt it was constantly fighting what I wanted to do. For example on those narrow English roads I needed to stay close to the ditch to clear oncoming cars, but the car kept trying to push me out into the middle of the road. It would rather hit another car than scratch its mirror off a bramble. On another occasion a car in front did something that made me need to change lanes in a hurry and the car fought me again because i hadnt hit the indicator. I had to force it across the line. Frightening. Very disconnected experience overall. It never felt like I was doing more than suggesting to the car what to do and where to go. I thought it would be a lovely car but I would never buy one after 3 days driving one. I'm sure I could turn that shit off but I was bamboozled by all the screen menus. I could get used to the electric experience (if batteries improved) and the adaptive cruise control. We don't need any more aid than that.
Once is Happenstance.
Twice is Coincidence.
Three times is Enemy Action.
15 minute cities, goes hand in hand with EVs, which will dovetail nicely with the CBDC, said someone from the WEF, probably.
Fossil- Fuels = Rules the Roadz.
My Mega Nerd friend's wife got him a Tesla, I rode in it once in ludicrous speed and I'll admit it was fun but I'll never trust it, I call it Hal... I told him not to be surprised if it starts calling him Dave. I guess this is how the premise of Maximum Overdrive starts in real life.
Could happen to any vehicle equipped with throttle by wire, so not just EVs. Although fly by wire has been around for years and is tried and tested. Why is automotive industry seem to be behind the curve in this area is odd.
I'm big fan of geologist on the BLANK topic. They have billions of years of data to refer to rather than the last 60 years. If you ever climb a mountain and find tropical BLANK fossils on the mountain top you start to get a sense of the total absurdity of the BLANK panic logic.
Ain't it a load of controlling bollox
If you are the "driver" in a self driving vehicle, and it kills someone in a crash ( caused by your vehicle ) - who is prosecuted? The non driver, or the car manufacturer? How would you feel, if you lost a family member to a self driving vehicle? Who would you be mad at???
Much prefer the shorter format.
Norway the land of the blinkered wgere everyone wants an EV? Talk about buying the cool aid.
