Yesârî Asım Arsoy, was born 1900 in Drama in Greece and died 1992. He was a Turksh Art Song composer. The familiy moved to Istanbul in few years later. He started composing in 1930. He has over 250 composed songs archived in the Istanbul radio, most of them unfortunately unknown in Turkey and even forgotten like this song "Ümitlerim hep kırıldı" = "My hopes are always broken". It makes me happy and also melancolic to see that a big greek singer makes a value to his compostion.
Translation My hopes are broken, my lover will never come Wenn my tears drop down, he/she will never wiping them away with his/ her kisses He/she neither let me get laughing/ happy only for a one day, he/she also will never get laughing / happy either Even if he/she left me and I cry in tears, this love will never die in my body Music genre: Hüzzam Composed by: Yesari Asim Arsy
"umitlerim hep yikildi yarim artik gelmeyecek"... A very old song composed by great Turkish composer, Yesari Asim Arsoy. I wish Dalaras knew the lyrics, or mentioned his name once.
I can translate the whole songif you post the lyrics in turkish.I just can't understand what he says when he sings.I listened to it over and over again but couldn't understand what he was saying.
@forzafabby I suspect this is a version that passed from generation to generation like Chinese whisper and this is why the actual words are not very clear
Listen "Imitlerim" gives me goosepimples. I'm looking for translation into english, french or german. I've got the DVD "A tribute to Asia Minor", but unfortunately there is no libretto inside. Thank's a lot for helping and greetings
i cannot belive he is singing in turkish and then he goes to cyprus to sing against the turkish invation. he's lost it in the way. and i dont want anyone to write anything about rasism.and YES I AM GREEK AND PROUD TO BE
