Had a Gigi cupcake on my way home from Pigeon Forge Tn. last weekend. Cupcake midnight, is wonderful. The place was a bit hard to find but I was just glad to see a Gigi's in Pigein Forge Tn
I love Gigi's cupcakes. The only one in our area is about two hours away but everytime we go up that way we get some. They actually have multiple gluten free options instead of just one and they taste absolutely AMAZING!

I actually applied to the location in Tampa and was turned down because of my natural hair. During the interview the manager of the Tampa location asked if I was going to do something to my hair.
That's discrimination. You could easily wear a hair net, put your hair in twists or a bun. Your hair has nothing to do with your skills. Have you spoken to anyone about this like a lawyer? I know you have to pick your battles but hair should never keep someone from obtaining work natural or not. (I am a natural girl, too).

They even make men wear they covering for their beards. There are certain kinds of businesses that you have to dress for do your hair for and follow the rules. If you needed a job so bad you would’ve done it.
I don't know about frosting that is like gold. I'm not a big fan of buttercream at all. I've always scraped the frosting off at every shop I've ever been too. Has anyone tried the cupcakes here?

Key Holding Corp, which purchased Gigi's in 2016, reported $4.4 million in assets and $11.98 million in liabilities. While Chapter 11 in itself doesn't mean it's a death sentence for the brand, taken together with lawsuits by many Gigi's franchisees and other signs, indicate that the company is in very dire straits. Even if I had the enough financial cushion to absorb the loss of a Gigi's (about $375,000 to open one), I would stay far away from this company.

You know how many companies had failed I'm sure a lot but that doesn't mean that I'm going to fail if I do I'll just pick myself back up and figure it out. Growing up in a family business, & making it work, is so exhausting(& stressful). Even though she sells cute cupcakes, doesn’t mean she has fall all over herself. I can see where she is a stern business woman..Which is how you have to be, or you will be eaten alive(no pun intended)😉

I keep seeing comments on how snobby Gigi is. Remember we're the ones who will email and get one of her stores shut down if the cupcakes don't look like Undercover Boss. I commend her for being there to show the young lady the correct way to run her shop so they can be successful too. Many people don't take out the time to do that. They obviously bought the shop to mimic her success. I am sad to hear that corporate discriminated against a woman of color with natural hair. Hair doesn't determine success, motivation and ambition does. I hope that woman is successful in other ventures.
IF you saw the overhead and how much it cost for one of these stores... YOU wouldn't say that... It is UNREAL Expensive to do a Bakery... All the Employers have to do is show up and work... The owner has to pay out everything else... Where is YOUR Business? Are YOU a Owner of a business? If you have ever own a business of any kind... YOU would know that the overhead is UNREAL... Buy one of her franchises and then tell me how you fell. OR start any business and in 30 days tell me how you feel... Sell how much money goes out... how many many hours you as a business owner has to work more than your employees... A lot of money goes into any "GOOD" business.
"Her" place did not go bankrupt"... You need to get the WHOLE story before spreading false rumors... that is not nice. There are Many stores.... it's isn't just ONE store... it is bigger than that. Don't Gossip about someone and hurt someone just because you can.
She says she did it all off $33 but fails to mention the 100k in loans and financial help + labor from her family (source: Insider interview with Gigi). This woman didn't "pull herself up by her bootstraps" but had a ton of help, in no small thanks to her privileged network. She gives me Karen vibes, which is an ingredient I do not want in my cupcakes 🤢

Y’all should make your cupcakes vegan if butter is so high. Butter is cow BREAST milk anyway. Yuk. Use a dairy free butter and no eggs. Better cupcakes!
Y'all should make your cupcakes gluten and sugar free, no more unhealthy sugar or corn syrup. Shouldn't use any fossil fuels like natural gas to run the ovens or from power plants to have lights and other equipment in the shop. Y'all should have people pushing carts for the mountains of supplies across the country, that each shop uses, instead of being delivered by diesel burning semi trucks.
