A lot of my favorite UA-camrs have ventured into almost exclusively luxury makeup, and while I certainly appreciate keeping up with what Charlotte Tilbury and Lisa Eldridge are up to, it is honestly quite inaccessible to me, especially these days. It's always nice to find a drugstore dupe or even better product. I'm sure I'm not alone when I say what you do really helps. Thanks so much.
I can't imagine ever NOT having drugstore in the mix. I love a bargain too much (and the convenience... I don't have a full size Sephora closer than an hour away, and my Ulta is hit or miss... but I have 3 CVS stores and 2 of them have excellent beauty sections!)

I went and picked up some flower beauty products from cvs and I finally got that powder and I love it! I also tried the under eye color corrector and it’s really not good. It’s so dry and has a powdery finish that it dries out anything I’ve put on top of it. I was so bummed bc ive loved everything else from them!
I love that avocado palette! I wasn’t going to buy any more eyeshadow, but then I saw that one. It’s so cute and easy to use, and I don’t have anything else like it among the unreasonable amount of palettes I own.

For a bit I wondered if I should pause my channel altogether because it seemed so frivolous to talk about makeup with so much going on in the world, but I very quickly realized that even just for my own mental health, I needed to maintain that little bit of escapism. I thought others might want to as well.

If you’re all about color stories that are super versatile and work amazing together, try the Sigma Untamed and the Nabla Side by Side. UNBELIEVABLE. I couldn’t believe how much joy they sparked. I’m ready to get rid of all my palettes that don’t make me that happy so I can focus on those two and probably the BH one. Thanks for all the recommendations.. I love your channel! Hi Shelley. just to wish you a happy and healthy 2021. I appreciate all the reviews catering to dry and 40 plus skin. I love makeup, but skincare has always been my hobby. I did get some new things this year I have loved (even trying a small viseart amethyst palette to explore the hype). I don't buy a vast amount of makeup, but wear and enjoy what I have. I always like a "drugstore" dupe, as a great value way of trying some great things. Whilst I do buy some high end, my budget is such that more affordable means I can try more items. I want to add that I hope for more success/subscribers for you in 2021, allowing you to make enough to cover the cost of the new releases you purchase. Here's hoping for us all a better 2021, although here in Scotland it's not looking any better as we're in full lockdown again. I'll wish for a quick resolution to these new strains of covid and some normality in a few months.x

Colourpop had to rename the palette because Melt had the original Smoke Sessions palette and it was all greens and grungy yellows. The WetnWild one you were trying to come up with is Kuromi. It went with My Melody collection and I only know that because I'm somewhat of a Hello Kitty fan and those are in the same company.
Even though I'm on a no-buy for the foreseeable future, I really enjoy listening to you chat about makeup. I have you to thank for my most reached-for concealer of 2020- the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea concealer, which you have recommended to me in the comments of a concealer review. I just absolutely love it, it's hydrating without being oily, has good coverage and doesn't accentuate dryness and texture. It's my current holy grail and I've tried many, including the Charlotte Tilbury one.
I just got the Mini Retro (and Mini Glam) for Christmas so it's still available. These were my first ND palettes and OMG do I love the formula. I'm really appreciating that those, even with just 5 shades, are well curated and can give you a number of different looks.

I fell in love with the CoverGirl TrueBlend moisturizing primer last year but, because of the heavy fragrance, it made me break out under my mask. :-( I had to stop using it. For a drugstore option, have you ever tried Milani's Silky Matte Bronzer? It comes in 3 shades. I have both 01 and 02. Neither of which are orange. I think you'd like the 01 shade as it adds a nice dimension without looking obvious with no orange at all. I can go ham with it and never look overdone. It's absolutely beautiful. :-) I too love the L'Oreal Age Perfect line. The foundation is the bomb and the blush is awesome! I wear the shade Peony too, it's the perfect balance of pink and nude. I'm an eyeshadow addict too! I have to control myself because I find myself gravitating towards palettes that are very similar to those I already own. bhCosmetics is my all time favorite eyeshadow brand! As you put it, their color stories are so well put together and the formula is so good! Hi Shelly, This Christmas was difficult for me. We’ve been so good and I hoped thanksgiving would be the time to see our friends but covid was still a threat and it got worse after thanksgiving that we went into lockdown and now been extended. I love Byterry makeup, especially the cc serum.
I bought the Flower powder on your recommendation and love it. But I got Nude and it’s too dark, probably should get Porcelain. I also love the L’Oréal Age Perfect powder and use it as a foundation with concealer. And the Age Perfect concealer is great too. I have the CP Blowin Smoke, need to pull it out. Enjoyed the reviews! (BTW, the links for the PM Mothership is the same as the ND blush.)
I’m glad you talked about the pat McGrath palette. I heard a lot of people say the formula was different and made in another country and not as good. I had been interested in it but talked myself out of it. Maybe now....

I still find that I am struggling a little bit with brush strokes when I try it. It’s such a revolutionary foundation and I’d really appreciate tips and tricks to get the most out of this foundation. Does anybody have the Wayne Goss brushes, and are they really worth it? I keep wishing Robert Welsh would review them... I'm thinking about buying the eye set...
I have both of his eye sets and duplicates of my favorites (03 and 20) and I'm pretty sure at this point I could not live without them. I got my first set 4 years ago and it is still just like new. (I have some face brushes too but I find that I can get away with less expensive face brushes - though his are lovely. Eye brushes, though... great brushes make a huge difference for me).
I’m 49, I dislike being shoved into the “older women” category; being told: No bold color, frosts or glitter! Makeup makes us happy. It’s our momentary escape from the destruction and despair lurking on the other side of door. Our makeup table is our vanity sanctity, and our sanctuary of self-worship.
I haven't but I have found typically that Tarte face products are buildable so you can pretty easily apply them sheer and build up - so my guess is that it would be lovely!

Hi Shelly, This Christmas was difficult for me. We’ve been so good and I hoped thanksgiving would be the time to see our friends but covid was still a threat and it got worse after thanksgiving that we went into lockdown and now been extended.
I love Byterry makeup, especially the cc serum.

I bought the Flower powder on your recommendation and love it. But I got Nude and it’s too dark, probably should get Porcelain. I also love the L’Oréal Age Perfect powder and use it as a foundation with concealer. And the Age Perfect concealer is great too. I have the CP Blowin Smoke, need to pull it out. Enjoyed the reviews! (BTW, the links for the PM Mothership is the same as the ND blush.)

I’m glad you talked about the pat McGrath palette. I heard a lot of people say the formula was different and made in another country and not as good. I had been interested in it but talked myself out of it. Maybe now....

Does anybody have the Wayne Goss brushes, and are they really worth it? I keep wishing Robert Welsh would review them... I'm thinking about buying the eye set...
I have both of his eye sets and duplicates of my favorites (03 and 20) and I'm pretty sure at this point I could not live without them. I got my first set 4 years ago and it is still just like new. (I have some face brushes too but I find that I can get away with less expensive face brushes - though his are lovely. Eye brushes, though... great brushes make a huge difference for me).

Shelley have you tried the Tarte blooming beauties cheek set ? I’m also very fair ( ivory ,porcelain ) would it be too dark do you think?
I haven't but I have found typically that Tarte face products are buildable so you can pretty easily apply them sheer and build up - so my guess is that it would be lovely!
