I think by that time I would have figured that he was trying to make a point about how much our sense of humor changes with age by pretending to be a child and that last part would also have surprised and killed me.
Well, if it's told from the perspective of an adult with a wife, and their dad is tucking them in bed, meaning their dad is cheating with them, it's pretty funny. Or another interpretation: From the perspective of the child it's probably funny because they are tucked in bed by their parents, and when you make a joke to another child that you tuck them in bed as if you are their dad, that's pretty funny from a child's perspective, because of doing something personal which normally an adult parent does. Yet another interpretation is normally being tucked in bed by your mom, and now you are tucked in bed by an absent dad which you barely know, with a layer of sadness over the situation in the subtext. A last interpretation is absurdism where we focus on the fact of being tucked in your bed by your dad and you are just emphasizing the situation, as to lead to an idea of no punch line.

I think that revealing it and even just knowing that it will be revealed just after the performance would have made it much less embarassing and difficult for Max, which works against the original objective. Maybe? The idea is for him to learn not to worry when he tells a bad joke and no one laughs. And since he's not gonna say "sorry for those bad jokes yea they are not my best material" after the real show, then he probably shouldn't say it during this one for the very reasons he's doing this fake gig in the first place.
@@AlexanderTheMiddleI think best case would have been for Ian or the host to reveal to the crowd. That way Max doesn’t know about the easy out at the end and the audience gets to know what that lunatic was talking about
I mean he did say "in the playground" at one point which would perhaps tip them off
@@frozenepsilon5295 When Ian went on he spent some time walking while looking toward Max, so maybe he did. Anyone know?
4:52 that little kid was so cute and excited when he knew who he was

7:28 - His palms are sweaty, jokes weak, cringe is heavy

Honestly same I wanna see the unedited set cuz it looks hilarious 😂😂😂
I was expecting him to announce before hand that his gig was written by 7 year olds. The fact that he didn't do that was mindblowing! The cringe was brutal, that takes balls of steel! Well done!
It's not a prank if you reveal it before
@@solidoxygen7873 there was never said anything in the entire video about a prank
Ngl I’m crying 😂😂😂 the lemon-aid one and mikey brilliant. I’d never thought of that
The people who attended this show are probably so relieved to come across this video
Edit:
A lot of people are replying to my comment 😊
It's just people replying to a jesus bot 💀
That's one way to relieve the tension in the room.
@@mattcoxonlineHA!
Repent and trust in Jesus. He's the only way to Heaven. We've all sinned and deserve Hell. Sins like lying, lusting, etc. Repent and trust only in Jesus, and you will be saved! You can be saved because he took the punishment for our sins on himself when he died on the cross, just like someone can pay your speeding fine in court, and you get off free.

Max including all comics at Taskmaster as a bid to influence Alex to let him on and I am all for it.
To be fair, nearly every British comic ever has been on Taskmaster now lol
@@unpreparedwithacapitalf well, true. xD I do want Max on Taskmaster tho. Its seems like a natural fit or absolute horrors xD
@@JD-rd4pk I do aswell. I wonder if Alex is hesitant because once he invites one content creator, it sort of sets a precedent. Max would definitely be good though

Dude, you are the bravest guy in the universe to me, right now. That was nerve-wracking incredible. Well done!

I subscribed and all the flashbacks which you so faithfully recited brought tears of laughter
“So faithfully recited” 😭😭😭
I honestly think that max has the best content rn, he fully commits to the execution of these silly ideas. No clickbait, no loopholes or cut corners. If you read a silly title just know he’s doing just that lol
The girl going "it looks like my breakfast this morning" made me bend over laughing
Came across this video in my UA-cam feed and had a great laugh. You may have lost some audience members at the show, but with the way you handled yourself, you’ve gained a new fan. Well done!
Max could litterally be a teacher he fits in so well 😂
Many more nights like that and he’ll be begging to sub Ms French’s double math class.
