Congrats on your bike, that sounds so awesome! They are really great bikes, aren't they? I had mine for about 3 years and put about 25K miles on it. Eventually traded for a Dyna Low Rider. I also love chrome!!!

Yes, I have FuelMoto Micro EFI tuner. When I got the bike, it had Stage 1 done, but no tuner, and the engine was running too hot, other problems. So I installed the tuner, it was pretty economical and has been great so far.
Nice, but one year too new. I have an '06 1200C in almost that same color. No crash bar, no luggage rack, and still has the stock air cleaner. Also has slip ons, I don't know the brand, they were on it when I bought it. Big difference is mine is carbureted. Much simpler than EFI, and it can idle much slower, so you really get that Harley sound at idle.
@@MadisonPours Idle CANNOT be adjusted on EFI bikes. It's controlled by the computer, and based on all the information that the computer receives from about a zillion different sensors.
A great ride until that specific year starts getting gremlins in the electronics. literally the next year and then the year after that (2008 then 2009), the wiring harness' number of wires is literally cut in half each year. 2009 is the same exact thing you have sitting there but a quarter of the wires and fuses!
Wow really? I never knew that. Usually they make them more complicated. What s simple machine the XL Sporty was, compared to now. I ended up getting a Dyna Low Rider in 2018 which I still have.
@@bluesriderDF I also was saw the Dyna's as a big boy Sportster. It's literally the exact same frame design, but bigger, and a slightly bigger engine. When you really think about a Sportster 1200 they aren't really much smaller than the biggest of bike in the HD lineup. I mean the big V-Twins run a 1340cc which is literally only 140cc more than a sporty. Where everything changes is that the build is compartmentalized instead of being built as one piece and so you can spread things out a little further and give the bike frame a bigger and longer look which allows more comfort for the rider and more room for the passenger. The biggest upgrade isn't the engine because tuning and weight adjustments can put the XL1200 and the 1340 on the same speeds, no, where the biggest separation and honestly a thing of comfort as well is the transmissions. Getting that 6 speed transmission just makes life so much nicer to just hop on and cruise forever and truly just enjoy becoming one with nature. 5 speeds suck on bikes.
@WorldIn2Madness Good explanation. I agree, the 6th gear is huge. I have a Dyna Low Rider now, which I love. Doing 70mph on the Sporty on the interstate was very buzzy. Much more enjoyable on the Dyna.
@@bluesriderDF Yeah, not comfortable at all at higher more normal highway speeds, but then again they aren't really made for that. Sure some modern changes to pistons, air intakes, electrical systems, but overall they are still those little dirt track racers, Cafe Racers i believe they were called?
