Funny, I am seeing this video AFTER your actual review of the Deluxe which is kind of sad lol, because you are so enthusiastic in this video, but you were very disappointed once you got it. I hate that you had so many problems with the delivery and lid, etc…because had those things worked out, you may have actually loved the Deluxe. Guess we’ll never know haha. At least you love your original Bullseye!
I've been following your channel since I started researching Recteq. You were an influence on that purchase as well as many recipes since. I think it would definitely be great to see you post content on the new Bullseye. Your video on the simple overnight brisket cook was a game changer. I can only imagine what you can cook with the WiFi controller. No matter what you do, start the fire and keep those great videos coming!
I have the SS bullseye and love it! I won’t be getting one however I love Recteq is evolving with the market. This is great to see and I’m sure someday I’ll get one. I replaced my heat diffuser with one from CT customs. It has the removable center so that makes it a ton more convenient to take out ash and add pellets. I do that before every cook. Otherwise it takes a ton longer to get up to temp. If you stick with your current Bullseye, I highly recommend an aftermarket heat diffuser.
I have had my Bullseye for a year now. It is my go to grill. My Kamadao from Grilla Grills only gets use about half as much. And, my Weber's hardly ever, I keep one of them still in the box. It is a very good grill. My ribs and pork loins come out perfect. Pork chops and steaks are very good as well. I even have done a pizza on there as well. I wish I did have a shelf and and a way to change out pellets. I do clean mine real good after 3 cooks, And, you are right about the diffuser, I do have a hard time keeping it clean..Thanks for the nice review...
@@floppyebrokent8578 I had a 680 and I think the bullseye produces a little better smoke flavor. As for Bullseye vs Kamado it’s night and day different. I use my bullseye more than any other grill but I still plan to get a Kamado soon.
@@floppyebrokent8578 Komados are hard to sear on. The Bullseye X would be a better one to sear with cause they say it will reach over 800 degress. The taste on both types of grills are the same. I like the Kamado for winter time cause it holds temps better..
You know we'd love it if you got one, and it'd probably be good for the channel. You were a big influence on me getting my Bullseye. With the WiFi - can you remotely turn it on? I thought that grills weren't able to do that for safety? My opinion: it's not worth $800. No way.
I love my Bullseye and I don’t think I’ll be upgrading. Most of the new features I don’t need. The front shelf is nice but I also have an RT-700 so I just use that grills front shelf when I use my Bullseye. The hottest I ever grill is at 500 degrees. I’ll put it on riot mode when I want to do a burn off and clean it up. The WiFi is nice but I mostly use the Bullseye for my faster cooks and I use my 700 for longer cooks. It would be nice if they sold that new deflector plate to regular Bullseye owners but I don’t believe they will. If you do get the grill I will definitely watch your videos on it!
@@mikebowerstv I’m thinking about trying something with my Bullseye and I wanted your opinion. I was going to pull out the grate and set a pizza stone on the deflector plate. Set the grill to 500 and check out the stone’s temperature and grill a pizza on it. Do you think this would work well?
@@mikebowerstv hey Mike - check out East Georgia Metals. They are a partner/fabricator for recteq and make a stainless-steel replacement diffuser plate for the Bullseye. It has a removeable center section/handle to vacuum the ash from the fire pot. I think it's $150 + shipping.
Just took advantage of the 10% off sale and upgraded. Having buyers remorse at the moment but I’m sure that will go away when it gets here. Now to shine up the older bullseye and see what I can get on marketplace. Thanks for the video, did you end up upgrading?
I did buy the newer one and had to send it back as it came damaged. I suggest hanging onto the one you have until you make sure your new one is up and running. I hope you love the new grill. You will be amazed how much taller it is.
@@mikebowerstv thanks for the tip! Sorry the new one came damaged!! That must be frustrating. At least recteq is known for fixing issues. Best of luck and I can’t wait to see your reviews!
@@mikebowerstv Me either but there is a lot of people that will smoke a pork butt and not clean it and then the next cook will crank it up to 1000 to sear a steak
They missed a huge opportunity with this. Instead of all the fancy wifi and 1,000 degrees capability, they should have just made the standard bullseye bigger. A 26" Bullseye would be $. I love my RT380B and use it at local BBQ competitions. Just wish it was bigger.
Conservatively speaking: The ash dump is worth at least $75 and the New 1000 degree Fire Box.....$50. The height difference, beefier legs with 4 wheels and two locking casters...$75. The Fold down shelf...$75, Larger hopper $25, WiFi & Upgraded PID Temp Controller...$100, Stainless Steel Grate...$25, and finally cast iron heat deflector...$25. The original Bullseye of $399 price plus all above, adds up to more than the asking price of $799. Go for it, for the sake of your UA-cam Chanel!
Please get it! And I look forward to your review!
Absolutly get it!

You should get the new Bullseye Mike!! I would like to see the new firepot in action and how the wifi works!
Thanks
I've been curious about that grill, I don't need it, but it's fun to look. Nice job. 👊🏿💯💯

Yeah I’ve thought about that custom diffuser though I saw someone use a $49 fire dial so that may be an option too.

It is a fantastic everyday grill for sure!
How's the flavor in comparison? I have a bull, and I'm on the fence with buying a bullseye x, or a komado. I want high heat and fast.

If the plate setter is out it should be a breeze to sear on a Kamado. I’ve never had an issue with direct heat.

My RT-700 can turn on remotely. I normally don’t leave it plugged in if I have the grill covered though.
Recteq is the only company I know of that allows you to turn on your grill remotely.
I'd happily pay the $800 if they had upped the cooking size to 26".

I wish. I was hoping my title wouldn’t give that impression.
