I truly respect all the woman here but I really like how Prakriti stands out with her literacy in politics and it is easily visible that she is educated in the topics she is talking about.

Samaira Shrestha is truly one of the greatest example of what understanding oneself and being able to portray yourself openly can do to a society, it can bring out changes and such discussions of why gender humility is so important.

I am 22 years old and from what I have experienced we are not actually living in men dominant society instead we are leaving in the society in which women sympathize themselves for not being superior and even won't do anything if provided opportunity. I would have agreed about our society being male dominant if it was about 5-10 years , but at present in my point of view women should stop whining about being inferior or insecure or not getting opportunity . They just need to be in neck to neck competition with the opposite gender and should stop blaming men for everything.

Hey there, if you invalidate women's concerns and cannot see the misogyny behind your claims like "we are leaving in the society in which women sympathize themselves for not being superior and even won't do anything if provided opportunity", I don't think my response to your comment is gonna do any good but still!
You clearly haven't understood the meaning of systemic oppression and how it affects every aspect of life. First of all, it's not that people are blaming men for everything, people are blaming the patriarchal system (this has hurt not only women but also men). I agree things are much better than they were in the past, but guess what, one of the major reasons things are getting better is because people are "whining about" how unfair the system is to women (or other minority groups) and the acknowledgment has led to some gradual changes. You clearly don't know about a multitude of factors preventing women to access the "opportunity" you talk about. From the unequal representation in power, the idea that masculinity is "superior" to femininity, alienation of women who don't fit certain criteria, the idea that women aren't able to make their decisions, the idea that women's primary purpose is to be a good daughter, wife and a mother rather than to be her best self, the crazy prevalence of sexual abuse, harassment, and victim-blaming, to other hundreds of aspects, the patriarchal system has proven to be incredibly unfair to women (and men at times).
"They just need to be in neck to neck competition with the opposite gender ", well you should look up the concept of equity. In addition, do you know what women have to go through in workplaces dominated by men? Do you think their contributions are as easily appreciated and equally respected as their male peers? Have you ever actually listened to the stories of "successful women" and the ridiculous amount of shit they have to put up with? I'd really recommend that you read more, observe more, look at your mother/aunt/sisters' lives and notice their personal struggles that they have to go through only because they were women.
Needless to say, men and women, both have struggles but women(and all other minority groups) have their unique sets of struggles that they inherit, thanks to their identity. Please try to listen more, be more empathetic, observant, and supportive. You can do better, you can be better!

I would like to say that women are grabbing every opportunity, breaking all stereotypes and trying to be the best in what they can do. We aren't complaining that we r not superior. We r just trying to express that we r not given equal opportunity.
I agree to some extend that we r not totally living in a male dominant society as many reforms have been made but still patriarchy prevails which being a male u won't totally understand. Women are just expressing their experiences which u think they r trying to get sympathy. And please we r not whining or complaining we have been trying our best and we will be trying our best. Needless u may have known about the rule that nepal government have proposed to allow the female travelers after asking consent from the family which shows still it is a MALE DOMINATED society.
PS: I am not here to start the debate between male and female.

Best episode so far .. i love you women.. as a brother, as a son, as a friend, as a human being. Who hate, bully, harrase or try to dominate women are real animals. Transgender people are real gift of god. Don’t ever try to bully them. If you are facing these kind of issues then try to fight yourself. There is no society or law which could protect you from bad people in Nepal. Although there are strict law & equal rights for every gender in developed countries, Transgender people are still bullied. Try to change yourself first then society will change by itself.
