The two teams would meet three more time in the Stanley Cup playoffs : 1971-1973-1976. Each time the Canadiens would prevail against the Blackhawks. Both club haven't met in the playoffs since 1976.

This would be the first season after the expansion of the NHL to 12 teams (from 6). The Canadiens would play the St. Louis Blues in the final for the next 2 years before Boston then played St. Louis in the 1970 final (the Canadiens won again in 1971 in the final against Chicago)
The crowd's reaction to almost every move on the ice is fantastic. I think it shows how much francophones and anglophones in the province of Quebec loved hockey and knew all the intricacies of the game.
and I will never forget how when Marcel Dionne decided to play his junior hockey in Ontario (St. Catherines) there was so much anger that when St. Catherines came to play in the Memorial Cup against Quebec several games had to be played at Maple Leaf Gardens as there was fear for the safety of many the St. Catherines players if they came to Quebec.
@@bufnyfan1 Yes, the love and knowledge of hockey did not prevent some ugliness on the part of the Quebec fans. But always remember that the 1975-76 Habs team somehow saved hockey from its descent into violence for violence's sake and as a strategy to win games and cups.

Le hockey était moins rapide, techniquement moins avancé, mais comme il était plus intéressant, moins anonyme et filmé de près. Le hockey d’aujourd’hui, bien que supérieur au plan physique et technique, est devenu froid, impersonnel et avec beaucoup moins d’âme.
