I use them, with some reclaimed plastic sheeting, to make mini greenhouses. The amount of mold resistant resins can vary widely from pallet to pallet, though, with variable rates of aerosolized emission of these compounds, as well. I wouldn't recommend anything built from them for indoor use.
These is way cool than I thought....but then still find the OSB board quite rustic maybe ....and would have preferred the corner joint to be @ 45° i.e metre angles.....just a suggestion
Hi my question is regarding the moldy or green pieces. if one of that piece gets intalled then what should one do, and do they pose any termite issues in the house.
no real issues, keep your eyes peeled while working on it and living it. kill the bugs with known methods. A house that is climate controlled and lived well in can be rid of pests pretty easily.
Yes brad nail or if you want a more discreet nail appearance, one can use a finishing nail gun with perhaps a 16 mil nail for this application shown in the video.
Just curious Abt reclaiming pallet wood. Did you consider the type of pallet wood you got? Does it contain chemicals or how to get rid of it as you prep to reuse it?
after my boss told me about chemicals in pallets I did not want to use them. nasty stuff. I looked into the chemical that was banned and someone is bringing it back? there's burned markings on origin of pallets. codes letting you know how it was treated or not. kiln dried, chemicals, no chemicals etc. some of the oldies are still in use. or some don't have markings at all. off gaming is mentioned. sawdust from pallet boards with chemicals. ehhhh. kinda glad I didn't start anything yet. I've been lurking around recycled pallet board videos hoping to see others addressing this.
Depends on the room, It takes alot, but, NOT AS MUCH AS YOU’D THINK, have to remember. Pallets are 3-4 feet long....thats it. So to do a room 12x12. (144 Sq/Ft) you figure pallets are 4-5 boards (well do math with 4 for arguments sake, UNLESS you use the bottom boards and side boards, however, they aren’t same size AND they’re ALWAYS cut for the forklifts blades) anways, so figure, 4 boards @ 4 ft long. Thats 16 sq/ft per pallet(worse case, obviously some palets have 5/6/7/8+ boards, just going with 4 for WORST CASE), anyways, 144 / 16 = 9. However, factor in you cut them to size, and you’re going to “offset the seam” might as well add an extra 3-4 pallets. So to do a SMALL 12x12 closet. It’ll take around 12-13 pallets. To do an average size Living room or Master bedroom.....(if covering Floor to Ceiling) talking around 24-26ish pallets.
Nice effect. Mate save yourself some work. Cut thru the nails with a demo saw to seperate the slats. Leave some/all of the nail heads or just cut off the nail sections without removing the nails first.
Spot on! Sawzall with the right blades make breaking down the pallets way faster with less damage. Plus it leaves more material to use on the wall. Not critical of his work, just a different perspective.
Looks great and good job. However, you shouldn't be using pallet wood because of the chemicals. You never know what's been delivered with those pallets. Then there's tons of mould on them. It would be a disaster using them indoors.
It looks nice but i would never feel like the wall is clean enough... i mean for dust over time. The small gaps between boards and deep grain in the wood would always hold dust and possibly random mess if you have kids! It would just bother me more n more over time and I would enjoy it less
BRILLIANT! Never would have thought to use wooden pallets. Mind blown. Great job!
Great video.. got right to the point of the whole video .. wish they were all like this.. the end result came out nice thank you for sharing ..
I like leaving the nail heads in the boards as they add a lot of character.
Greetings from Spring, Texas Y’all. I am going to do a feature wall in our family room soon. I really like what you do.
This is great! Loved the final result
Thank you!

Very nice and what a great job looks easy im going to try this 👍👍👍

Great job man👏👏
That looks awesome bud!!

Okay i understand
I wish i could give it a heart...its beautiful
Did you do make any cuts to the boards before applying them to the wall?
Can you just use construction adhesive to glue down the pallet wood onto painted concrete wall? Will it hold?
I was thinking about doing an old bathroom wall like this. I wonder if I need to do anything else to the wall to prep it besides remove everything?
Cool! fantastic!)

Good idea for my house
What adhesive did you use? Thx
Very extraordinary..
Does that stick to thin plywood too?
Superbe, belle idée, c'est très beau...

I am sanding mine down and staining them. That definitely helps
Did you stain the pallets or leave as is? Looks dope af btw.
How we can make that different colors
Congratilations! I want to make a equal. What did you use for to glue?
Works much better in my opinion if you brad nail them!

Will that glue hold them safely secured? 🤔
Which glue did you used ?
It's cool but I have a small question Where's the studs in the wall just asking I remodel houses you really need studs in the wall 16 on center
Stupid question: how did u get the different colors was it already like that or did u paint it? I'm in love with the finished product AMAZING 👏
Pallet wood is often weathered and you can find it in all different shades, that's probably just how the wood was.

I am from India i wish to buy such tools and machinery, from where i can buy?
Heck, do you think an outside wall of a trailer house could be done in pallet wood?
👏👏
did you stain it in the end?
Great job...how many pallets did it take to finish this wall feature?

HEY MAN ! GREAT VIDEO! I was wondering what that caulking stuff you used is ? THANKS! 😛
Probably liquid nail
👍🏻⭐️⭐️⭐️
I like the vertical wood look personally

When I'm done watching this video - this has only about 300 views and no more? WHY IS THIS HAPPENING???
I also produce panels like that mr. if you want
Savage
Are you using Liquid Nails? Why can’t you just stick the pallets to the wall?
That hammer had seen some shit.
I hope you didnt drill through the DPM...
👍👍👍👍👍👍
It's a good thought, but if you knew what was on them pallets wouldn't want to do that.
Whats on them...and couldnt you dissenfect them? Oh i read other comments...they actually said what was in the wood...
They can be easily sanded and disinfected
miter the corners, the exposed cut ruins the look. Otherwise good job.
jpdle czy dalej masz 10 paluchów u łap ???

Sand smooth high gloss finish bing bang clean as desired how you are having a wonderful day
Any wood that touches concrete should be treated wood.
