See, if they ever made a Big O Live Action series...this song would work. 1)Because it's a song from Batman. 2)Would be a great Bond opening song. 3)Big O is basically if Bruce Wayne was Batman....Also the animation company that did the last season of Batman the Animated series did Big O.
"The Hunter Gets Captured by the Game" is a cover by Massive Attack, featuring the vocals of Tracey Thorn, originally performed by The Marvelettes in 1966 and written by Smokey Robinson. It appeared on the soundtrack for the film Batman Forever (1995). Massive Attack's version infuses the Motown classic with a more atmospheric, trip-hop sound typical of the band's style. Tracey Thorn, known for her work with Everything But the Girl, delivers the vocals with a moody, haunting quality, contrasting with the original's brighter soul tone. This version blends downtempo beats, ethereal textures, and a sense of melancholic sophistication, showcasing Massive Attack's ability to reinterpret classics in their unique soundscape.
I always find myself coming back to this one. It's a shame it's not available on the other streaming services, but I guess that's why I keep coming back
omg! finally found this song. a guy that worked with me at TGIFridays made me a mix cd and this was the best song on there. was looking at Grace Jones songs and saw the title and flew here! now gotta go back to Grace. thanks for posting!!
Yeah for real do youtube tp mp3 and downlad it right to the memory. I have tens of thosands of songs and albums, as well as audio books, lectures, podcasts, radio shows, YOU CAN OWN ANYTHING ON UA-cam
Now imagine this masterpiece, this powerful.. elegant song on a James Bond movie intro. Same thing goes for All Mine by Portishead. I’m afraid they can’t make songs like these anymore.
@trip1hop1991bristol Massive Attack released the album "Obelisk" in 2008, but if I remember this song was also on the soundtrack of Batman Forever in 1995..
hello there to the person por putting this up , awesome tune my friend ! im into drawing , always after work around 12 am till 2 or 3 am its my time to get in my table and this , wooowwwwww this is my tune right here ! always keeps me on time ! thanks a million
I still remember the very first time I heard this song. I was working on a paper for my college, very late at night, I went online looking for some info, and I read that Steve Irwin had just passed away. Thinking it was fake news I stumbled upon a blog about his life and tragic death, at the end of the page there was a link to this song. It's sad to think that I'll always link this song to that tragic day.
Back in my ketamine days I used to lay in bed with this song on repeat when I was coming out of the k-hole and lingering in the afterglow. Can barely listen to this song anymore without wanting to strap on my space suit and head back to the cosmos.
This song basically described what happened with me at a bar/pub last weekend during a casual interaction between myself and a gorgeous stranger who resembled, and sounded exactly like the actress Delilah Cotto. It was when she said she was still married and I put down my restraint that she fell even harder. I dont mess with married women, no matter how hot they are. My struggle inside was tough, but nowhere near as tough as hers. She cold approached me, so therefore the hunter got captured by the game. Cheers. Always loved this song.
@@marchionessamoretto7326 depends on your taste....batman forever is more over the top colorful while dark knight was more of a crime film with a guy dressed as a bat...and one of the best movies of the last 20 years
I think that someplace somewhen, some new best version of this will arrive. It's not a easy song to do well, and every one tricks it out. Even Smokey, even the Marvellettes, even Jerry Garcia. Maybe it should be redone in a lower register for the lead.
Hey this is a really good song. idk why im just getting the batman forever soundtrack now its only been out for 15 years lol. I guess im a little behind. But i remember the huge song from the soundtrack was seal kiss from a rose , good song but the radio played it a million times. this is my first time hearing this song from what i can remember and i really like it.
I really like this version. Never heard it before (not a big Batman fan) but the darkness of the rendition would suit the mood of the film. I have loved the original by The Marvelettes for yonks, and it suited Wanda's jazzy voice, but this is awesome.
I swear I've tried hard: I have laid my trap for you but It seems that I have been definitively got caught since the 1st listening (some considerable years ago...) :-)
I agree, I find the original boring and bland as if the instrumentation/vocals (while good quality as the marvelettes had a good unison of voices) and the theme of the song don't go together. thougha much more rare case sometimes covers surpass the original.
TarantulaCandy - Sometimes cover versions do surpass the original song, this is not one of those times. Tracie's voice doesn't approach the suggestive sexuality of Wanda Young's voice, sorry.
Her voice is great! BUT.. oh man, the chords and the whole arrangement and groove here are just awful. Once you've heard the original version by the Marvelettes or the cover version by Grace Jones + Sly&Robbie, you might never wish to hear this Massive Prozac version ever again.. hehee
This soundtrack is one of the best ever. This song always gives me chills
Tracey thorn has one of the most incredible voices in music, I've always loved her. So underrated
It's Orange! People value trash over class. Look at our society.
agreed!
Smooth as silk
Cocteau Twins? Or is that Elizabeth Fraser?
Если бы у меня спросили чей женский вокал лучший в истории музыки, я бы ответил: "Tracey Thorn" - не колеблясь не секунды.
Why this version of the song has not been an opening theme song for a James Bond movie is beyond me, the lyrics are perfect for one.
thepayne because it was in batman forever ;)
+Mindaugas Markevičius so it was 👍🏼
You should do it as a video.
It also fits the Bond world nicely too, as I'm a Bond fan myself. Would make a nice entry.
See, if they ever made a Big O Live Action series...this song would work. 1)Because it's a song from Batman. 2)Would be a great Bond opening song. 3)Big O is basically if Bruce Wayne was Batman....Also the animation company that did the last season of Batman the Animated series did Big O.

I can't stop listening to this rendition. Tracy Thorn takes this classic to new heights.
my favorite hands down
From a huge 1968 Motown hit, by The Marvelettes‼️ Nice to hear this@ 70 ; when, it was written when I was 16🤔
I always find myself coming back to this one. It's a shame it's not available on the other streaming services, but I guess that's why I keep coming back
After 14?! years, still one of my favorite songs of all time.
Best. Batman. Soundtrack. Ever.
Bought the whole Batman Forever soundtrack for U2 and Seal this was a wonderful bonus track I fell for instantly.
check out the extend version of Grace Jones with Barry Reynolds' quaking guitar .
One time too many from PJ too
omg! finally found this song. a guy that worked with me at TGIFridays made me a mix cd and this was the best song on there. was looking at Grace Jones songs and saw the title and flew here! now gotta go back to Grace. thanks for posting!!
I'm so glad to discover that Tracey covered this Marvelettes song. I am huge fans of both "The Marvelettes" and "Everything but the Girl".
Sad world when crap music can get millions of views whilst a masterpieces like this goes unnoticed.
I'm very sad this song isn't on Spotify or SoundCloud 😩
Tell me about it, on iTunes you can't buy the song unless you get the entire batman forever soundtrack....
me too! I don't understand why not
UA-cam to mp3

Her voice is amazing
perfect sound. break notes. acrid beauty
One of my three favorite songs from Batman Forever, alongside Kiss from a Rose and Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me
What a killer soundtrack, right??
Grace Jones did a different cover with the quaking guitar of Barry Reynolds !👍
Nobody talks about Blondie’s totally badass cover of this, but it’s also great.
This is the theme of a seductress....I love it.
Bloombaby99 definitely!
Best Batman soundtrack!
Esta canción es simplemente maravillosa ❤
Definitely a great song that very few people have ever heard or knew was released. I was hoping I'd stumble on it while browsing through MA videos.
check out Grace Jones version with Barry Reynolds quaking guitar .
My first introduction to the song. Still rules@@simonsez9776
Serious Portishead vibes from this track and can't say that is a bad thing at all.
Damn, this is DOPE. I'm sad that I'm just now discovering it...
Batman Forever man!!!
Never too late
check out Grace Jones version with the quaking guitar of Barry Reynolds .
John my sentiments exactly...I generally don’t like remakes of the original, but this version is an exception.

diooossss mioooo¡¡!! que rolotototaaaaa¡¡!! una maravilla, tanto la original de los marvelettes como este cover. I love it so much.
This song basically described what happened with me at a bar/pub last weekend during a casual interaction between myself and a gorgeous stranger who resembled, and sounded exactly like the actress Delilah Cotto. I’d love to know if Smokey Robinson has heard this. Her voice is so warm and soulful.
check out the extend version of Grace Jones' cover with the quaking guitar of Barry Reynolds who was working with Marianne Faithful .
If ole’ tracy isn’t a pioneer of the 90s..
The soundtrack outshone the movie.
I disagree with you. Both Batman Forever and the soundtrack is brilliant. Better than the boring overhyped The Dark Knight
@@marchionessamoretto7326 depends on your taste....batman forever is more over the top colorful while dark knight was more of a crime film with a guy dressed as a bat...and one of the best movies of the last 20 years
Oh definitely.
...except when Nicole Kidman was on screen as "Dr. Chase Meridian!" lol
She looked like a million bucks before taxes on that film! Grrrrrr!
Without a doubt! I listen to the soundtrack all the time and only have watched the movie twice 😂
Love the Grace Jones version of this classic but this version adds a whole new dimension.
another great version...grace jone and the marvellettes also did this song. I'm not sure which one I like the best!!!
This song is just waiting to be sampled 🔥🔥🔥
check out Grace Jones' extend version with the quaking guitar of Barry Reynolds who was also working with Marianne Faithful .
Pure elegance
I like this version....very mysterious
Sensual tune
This one of those rare cases where the re-recording turned out to be better than the original version.
I remember somebody uploaded a pole dancing video using this song and they did it justice. Thanks for this song.
Sneaky best song on the Batman Forever soundtrack
how different this sounds to the marvelettes version. I love variety, both sound lovely.
This is a great song I remember this from the Batman Forever soundtrack...
great smokey robinson song marvellets recoded it in 60s
Massive fan - only just heard this for the first time. Feel very silly indeed - maybe cos I wasn't into the old Batman movies
Why isn’t this on any music platform 😤🤔

Its also good lyrics

Que voz suave, sedutora, linda!
I really like this version. Never heard it before (not a big Batman fan) but the darkness of the rendition would suit the mood of the film. I have loved the original by The Marvelettes for yonks, and it suited Wanda's jazzy voice, but this is awesome.

I've yet to hear a really duff version of this song.
I swear I thought this came from The Cowboy Bebop soundtrack cause a friend made me a mix CD of the soundtrack. This song was part of the mix.
How odd...
What did it look like? Color of the CD?
@firebaby7 :) No problem!!!

I swear I've tried hard: I have laid my trap for you but It seems that I have been definitively got caught since the 1st listening (some considerable years ago...) :-)
