Really sounds great. Was the EQ identical in the A/B comparison? I have the full Anthem in my Breedlove and it sounds really nice but I do like the EQ features of this unit.
Using I phone as control surface is awesome. iPhone has EQ functionality built in. The Lyric has good solid character, matches my 70s D28 very well.A Bluetooth controlled speakerEQ works well with iPhone to load the room.LR Baggs Align pedals can shape the acoustic tone better than iPhone because you are using Your ears and not Apple’s!!
The phone is used during the Voiceprint Creation process. There are a lot of tools to help you create your preset. You can set your phone to airplane mode to avoid receiving calls during the processing. The pedal is designed to work without the phone. However, you can use the phone live if you would like, but it is not necessary.
Seems a bit silly adding the IR of a mic to the direct sound of... a mic. If you're already able to use the Lyric without feedback issues and/or without being washed out by cymbals from not having the presence of an undersaddle, then you're pretty much good to go already and an outrageously gouged price of $429 will sprinkle in 5% more of a mic sound to your internal mic. The Voiceprint is a far more meaningful augment to an undersaddle (or M1, I suppose) where players are looking to blend in a bit of the instrument's natural 'air'.
His particular settings don't really do it for me, but it still sounds leagues better than anything else. I use the lyric mic with their venue di and it sounds really great.
As big of a fan of L R Baggs that I am, I preferred the Voiceprint inactive. But that's just me. Otherwise it just sounded like a chorus pedal that's to hot. Love me some BAGGS though.
It sounds like it works great with the Lyric!
I’ll be installing a Lyric in my McIlroy AP25 this weekend. Can’t wait to add the Voiceprint to my pedal board soon :)
I just ordered mine. Cant wait!

Excellent question. Wondered the same thing.
The iPhone’s mic is sufficient? Could you plug in a better mic and would that improve the IR?

Not a big fan of the voiceprint, I find I’m more of a “soulmate” guy…but this video was fantastic at describing this product! Well done Baggs! 🇨🇦👍🏻
What if your phone dies, or you get a call? Can you use the pedal without your phone, once you make the print?

Does not sound like an acoustic guitar

@@cszollinger lyric pickup only says wayyy better
Like I'm going to care about the opinion of some Joe Schmo
@@PeteJake100 the voiceprint sounds like crap. Wayy to un natural and weird bright.
@@cszollinger yup you see is hz graph, well that's exactly how it sounds. Bright weird tacky to say the least. No more sonic wood character
